I think something is up with the matching. I saw Neil and Jose making a push about 30 mins ago , but I couldn't find them. Only very low ranked 0-point matches.

Even if I hover around the 1000 or so, it has been a nice tournament to play in. I am thinking that shields should be disabled in open brackets though, what a glorious mess it would have been!

Speaking of which, attack tiles still function while the team is stunned. I almost got killed by Dr. Doom from my own Berserker Rage even though their whole team was stunned.

I looked at the roster at the top few in the rank, and they seemed to have almost all the covers for each character.

I am curious why would you want to compete for top then? I understand there is also ISO and HP rewards, but looking at how much HP you need to spend on shields, is it worth the competition?

I'm just curious why you would do it, nothing offensive, in case this is misinterpreted.

Well for me, I have been after some more yellow and red x-force covers for what seems like an eternity, and the chance of getting some more IW and Daredevil covers are just a nice bonus.

I believe that this event is geared towards individuals who have most of their covers, but still need a rare few. To players that have invested a great deal of time, effort, and in most cases, money, that one elusive cover can end up becoming the quest for the grail. Personally, I know I would drown a kitten for a Red Hulk -- I've gotten the others in spades, but that nasty one keeps getting away from me somehow. Besides, as of this writing I'm currently in the top ten and I certainly know I could use a lot more covers than just that one. Multiple 4* covers are worth the prize alone, given their rarity and expense.

I went and looked at the other folks in the top ten and the majority of people need quite a few. However, looking at the top 2, I can see where you are coming from. Their motivations could also be the ISO, HP, alternate builds, or perhaps just the prestige. What would you do if you had every character completely maxed? Stop playing? Maybe.. but I know if I were in that situation and was still interested in playing, you better bet I would be going for first place in these tournaments

On another note, I am getting increasing suspicious of this 0 point thing. Sure it's possible that EVERYONE under 200 points may be sheilded, but I find that highly unlikely. I just saw Jose make another break and increase a rank. I must have cycled through 50+ different matches and I couldn't see him at all. With the exception of one or two matches worth 1 point (~400), every match was with teams averaging level 30 with anywhere from 12-120 points scored. That's 1300 points beneath where I am vs. Jose's 100 point lead. I suppose it could be an MMR thing, but why then was I able to find and compete with everyone else in the top of the bracket prior to midnight?

Any ideas?

I thought zero pt hell was designed to ensure everyone gets some sleep before the final push, but it seems to have continued into this morning...Are we really duking it out a fraction of a point per win?

Especially if you don't have max in the colors of any of the 4**** that alone is "technically" worth 15000 hp. Plus selling all the 3*** coves nets them some hp back and they get a nice haul of ISO.

The real issue is that 4th onward for a while will likely come out with very negetibe hp amounts and a decent chunk of ISO that doesn't make up for that hp loss. That alone means that once they start the push they Need to go all in ..or at least that is the mindset it creates. How many shields have top 10 used so far? I would assume at minimum probably 500 hp worth..probably way more...and last day will probably see as many shields used as were used in the first days combined possibly. So top 3 will make a bunch of that back selling covers and get ISO plus finishing off whatever they are missing while getting ISO while #4 basically is trading hp for ISO. One is a prize and one is more of a currency swap for an f ton of work.

Personally, I could use 5 4**** covers, 4 3*** covers (3 from daredevil and 1 from hulk), and a single 2** cover. Even for that the top reward would be worth me aiming for.....if the drop off between 3 and 4 wasn't so astronomical. The drop off should have been something like "only 2 colors of all" "only 2 covers of 3*** and 1 cover of 4****" "only 1 color of each cover" etc etc etc. That way a lot more ppl would be winning something worthwhile.

Of course, the purpose of this tournement is to rip hp out of the economy while giving a really nice tip top reward that ppl are suppose to strive for. The entrance fee is to balance out the heroic tokens being given out, the rest of the draining is directly through shield use and is where the majority of the important ISO drain is coming from (players with more hp than they know what to do with or those with a bunch who bought it that they would like to buy some more). So a kinder reward structure like I mentioned is almost certainly not the plan for understandable business reasons.

In short, most ppl participating will come out barely positive or likely rather negative besides the ISO or a lucky pull from thier heroic (which you could get over 3 days without any work put in). Also, its not like the matches are inherently easier in the elite bracket so there is no point to play it "to grind" as you could do the Sam win shield and at least have. achance to reach a new progress reward while getting generally easier match ups. Unless you get top 3 you probably wasted your time...but to each thier own. Some might say it was worth the time spent just for the "fun" or something...so there are non-reward reasons to considr maybe for some.

Also, side note, top place gets thier name mentioned in the next elite title screen! Prety cool! .... Lol...to each thier own.

Opponents are generally 500 rank points higher or lower than your current rank. It looks like the problem is the MMR function is truncating our rank points by one digit. I have 1484 rank points but the MMR function is reading it as 484. Right now I am only seeing opponents that are worth between 26 and 720. Anyone over 690 gives me 1 point. I saw a 2 pointer yesterday. Doesn't appear to be movement in the top 10. Nick Fury moved up. He may have had some folks queued up.


I wonder if this issue is related to the skip tax. They have a problem - the MMR machine truncates rank points before matching opponents after reaching a certain number of skips. They have a solution - reduce the number of skips. There was the skip tax, and now the no-skip bonus.

Not quite 10 hours. 9 hours ago there was a 15 minute span. It was normal for another hour before it happened again.
