Live on Google Play now. Looks like it was restyled based on Tron, but without an increase in resolution.

    The new layout looks butt-ugly.

I did notice, though, that the first of the prologue missions semi-reset rewards. I say 'semi' because only about half the nodes in H.A.M.M.E.R. did anything, but there ARE a few rewards I can go double dip on.

Most of the prologue is still completed for me, though.

That's part of the "new player experience".

Since it's new, and you never completed it before...better get crackin'! icon_lol.gif

I could use the healthpacks so I'm hitting it!

It's funny because it's the same nodes that were there before. Just...reshuffled rewards? Or something? I cleared the new rewards (and surprisingly quickly) hoping one would be Spidey. Alas. icon_lol.gif My guess is he isn't a reward at all in the prologue or there would be other 'new' rewards to earn.

I feel like I'm seeing everything through a magnifying glass. I like the functionality of the new menu setup and the tiles around the edges are very crisp, but the event icons are so unnecessarily HUUUUUUUUUUGE. Not only are they fuzzy but the window doesn't even fit two of them at a time!
  • The interface seems fine, but on my S6, the pictures look horribly distorted. Would be awesome if they were in HD.

Please comment on whether or not the behavior described here (https://d3go.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=32022) is intentional or a bug. This is a somewhat major change to not even be hinted at in the release notes.

Maybe they will give us the option to switch to "Old Theme" on the game like when they changed the Forum to be ugly and unnecessary big, but still gave us the option to view the forum the classic (and easier) way.
  • I don't know who is in charge of these things, but just wanted to let someone know. The new UI is really inconsistent. All the boxes and borders and new elements have a nice crispy clean look to them, but all the event pictures are literally blown up versions of the originals so they look all jagged and blurry.

I hate to even bring this up, but god it looks so bad and it's so easy to fix/avoid.

IceIX Edit: Updated thread title to be clearer and gather more feedback. Keep it comin'!

That new interface is gigantic on a tablet.

The new UI on the whole is ugly, angular, and harkens back to the old way the game used to look. And like you said, the images are just bigger versions of the original picture. If you're going to have such big icons, you need to make them HD and more detailed so as not to have a cheap look. But then, cheap looks and the new UI go hand in hand...
  • I thought I was freaking out for a second and my phone was glitchy. My teammates confirmed it was the same for them and it made me sad lol I'm sure they'll work out another update with smoother graphics. I hope.

    It's horrific - it's like a bad 80 s film view of "high tech"

Seriously needs undoing - I'm not sure how long I'll be able to tolerate it but I fear it won't be long without some headache pills or 3d glasses

Whoever came up with this should put their crayons back in the box and head off for a nap and let the grown ups have control of the computer again so they can fix this asap

If (like me) you thing the new UI is horrible just post I agree in this chain - hopefully if enough people comment common sense may break out

It reminds me of a really old Windows from the 90's. Big, ugly and boxy. What on earth do we need the icons so big? I nearly dropped my phone when the game loaded and juggernaut came lunging at me all big n' ugly.

Even ignoring the pixely blown-up icons, it doesn't look anywhere as nice as the previous version of the UI. I mean, it's not horrible if they manage to fix the low-rez assets at some point (not counting on it), but I don't see why it needed to be changed in the first place.

Feel free to comment on the new UI, but a "petition to remove" isn't going to gain much traction. Constructive criticism and suggestions to improve would be much more helpful. As such, closing this out in favor of the already running thread here.

It's absolutely huge on tablets. It's definitely an eyesore and harder to navigate.

I also strongly dislike the "neon" edges in the dialogue boxes and some UI elements. It seriously looks amateur as hell and I'm not randomly saying this; I'm a professional graphic designer.

More constructively: our current era in design is one that favours large expanses of white or subdued colours instead of black, garish colours (except as a very distinct accent) and/or gradient textures (other than soft fades into white/background). Rounded edges with light strokes (if at all!) instead of squared, high contrast ones. Small elements with lots of space around them as opposed to blown up elements trying to fill every single available millimetre. The previous design wasn't that bad, really. It just needed some colour adjustments and the current reshuffling of the elements (the one good thing about this new design) in order to minimise clutter and make it look more modern.
