  • I went to the Android store to rate as 1 star after the recent changes, the Dev's might not care but i can tell you that when i'm decided whether or not to download an app or game i read the reviews and looking at all the 1 stars that are on this game right now i seriously doubt many new players will be joining up.

You have to scroll a looong way down to find a complimentary review, shame really because it's geniunely a good, fun game. I have no issue with nerfing characters either, if they are overpowered or overused but it's one or two other things starting to creep in that have realy got my goat. You never used to NEED to buy Hero Points to enjoy the game and be kind of competitive but it's now obvious that the devs want to change that, they are slowly but surely trying to get the game towards needing Hero Points and of course the only way of reliably gaining enough is to buy them.

200 Hero Points for a boost? Come on, no-one in their right mind thinks that that is aimed at a casual player. And the worst thing is if i happen to get a boost that costs Hero Points that i don't want i can't even sell it. That in a nutshell proves what i am saying.
  • This is not the way to urge for change. Right? More towards threatening now. I believe ppl just dont get it. This is free play game. What is their aim to create this game. just for free? for charity?

Whoa, are you ICEix posting under another name, lol?

See my response from page 3.

    Ouch!

Giving a 1 star rating to this app isn't done " to enact change."

It would a way of expressing our dissatisfaction and letting others know our experience.
  • Continue the 1* rating and refund campaign!!!

If you guys listen on the forums, could you please stop nerfing characters in the middle of tournaments featuring those characters? It's wonderful that you charge people for an avengers tournament and then nerf the two most played avengers in the middle of it.
Given that we run multiple events that feature different characters and many events often overlap, that's a really difficult one to abide by. Right now about the only characters we could probably hit would be a couple Dark Avengers and Bag-Man. The rest of the characters are pretty well featured in other Tourneys.

Then maybe adjust the tournament schedule to leave room for an update and plan them out. This is what the rest of the industry does.

Now comments like this make me want to post 0 stars. Just keep up with the arrogance on top of all the shown incompetency.

The last major f-up I recall was around Elemental War of Magic. Packed with CEO flaming the negative commenters on the forum after they pushed out the half-done unplayable tiny kitty and 7 patches in first 7 days just to make it start up and able to get the first moves.

Then shortly later the boss guy recovered his sense and came out apologizing for both the game, the decisions and his arrogance to come out speaking before listening. What probably saved the thing from free fall at least.

They say whoever not study the history is doomed to repeat it with all the mistakes.

I don't see what IceIX said here to be arrogant? And what do you want him to say to people threatening bad reviews? Do you want him to apologize for the changes and promise to put it all back to what it was? Because that won't happen either.

I work in Customer service, and guys like IceIX have the difficult job of catering to the players, and promoting the business. They made all of these changes to push their business in a better direction, and they probably made them after a lot of thought and contemplation.

And quite frankly, a week from now, none of these changes will be a big deal. None of them. Cost changes are normal, balancing changes are to be expected, and this game is still too new with too many new features for us to expect everything to be perfectly polished the moment it is released.

If anybody has given up on this game to the point to give it a 1 star review and try to drive other potential customers away, what SHOULD IceIX be saying to them? You guys are asking for the impossible here.

I don't agree with trashing the game via a rating unless it is truly warranted, yet this was a very arrogant response. If you work in customer service you should know better. Yet when I look at customer service reps across various industries your response isn't surprising.
  • At current count there are 156 1 star ratings for this version of the game on Apple Store, and 300 overall, meaning more than 50% of the 1 star ratings occurred from this patch... I hope IceIX continues his "it doesn't matter if you put 1 star campaign" because the rating for the game has gone from 4+ stars to 2 1/2 stars and dropping fast... Improvements better be made, or else after the upcoming Spider nerf which neuters his stun and healing, all living hell is going to break lose...

    And they deserve it 200%.

Previous things imply they wait up till they measure play rate in game dropped more than half and the ratings fall ahead to 1 1/2 only then start to figure out what might got wrong.

As the saying goes, that will be some REAL accomplishment to recover from there. Like standing up from 0:4 halftime in soccer.
  • What these idiots don't realize is it is much more expensive to find new customers after disgruntling current customers. That is why most companies go above and beyond in satisfying even the pickiest of customers. I am still furious that ICEIX basically said he doesn't care if we rate the game 1 star as it won't change anything.. I hope after this fails and it will if it follows down this path, that ICEIX takes a few customer service classes before starting his new job.
  • My brother and I are what I would call the target player. Not enough to put hundreds in a game but willing to add about dive to ten bucks a month for he to reward the deck for giving me a fun way to pass the time. Two weeks ago I was hooked and loving it but the past week's chaos and disfunction has all but ruined my experience. The most disheartening thing is that it feels as if I'm being told ten to twenty dollars a month is not enough to feel rewarded when even the most immersive MMORPG will only require a subscription of 15 a month. It seems short sighted to lure people in and raise the price for short term bait and switch rewards.

Both of us have agreed to stop playing until something changes. As a casual gamer that may not matter to you but there are plenty of others who feel this way.

You do realize you are contradicting yourself in your own post right? It's amazing how you think you are so much smarter than the rest of us.

I'm starting to feel bad for ICEIX. Deep down the guy has to know we're right and he too must realize the game is a complete mess, but he can't really admit that or he'll lose his job. So he has to struggle with his conscience and principles while giving us **** answers. That must be emotionally exhausting, right?
  • Apple Store Update

Still 2 1/2 stars with current version getting 125 5 stars and 177 1 Stars with a mixture in between... The game is still 4 stars for all versions but I don't see that staying that way for long.... Anyone have any updates for other stores?
  • I think the devs are just trying to get ready for the new backlash of the spidey nerf even if everyone knows about the spidey nerf. I'm ok with the spidey nerf as long as I can somehow get a maggia on my team with that sweet sweet 4 yellow 2600 damage countdown tile.

QFT.. I didn't realize Maggia and Flamethrowers could mess heroes up so bad... Who needs Rhino and Electro in the new Spiderman movie...Just have Spider-man face a flamethrower from this game for his toughest challenge yet!

Google play store is showing 4.5 stars from 33,000 reviews. It doesn't seem to show reviews by version.
The majority of recent reviews are 1 or 2 stars and mention the recent changes and apparent cash grab as the reason why.

You will notice that this is my first post here.
I have been playing this game since the first day it came out, and never had the need to lookup the forums until now.
I don't consider myself a 'whale', but I did spend upwards from 500$ so far, and without any regret. It was mostly to get missing cards or level ups for my Spidey and buy all the extra bank/slot spaces.
From the first day in, I knew I was venturing into a freemium game, and if I enjoy it, I'll end up paying hard earned money on it.
Now, what the game publishers/developers are missing about a freemium game is the whole concept, it started very well, but now has become like any other pay to play game. Freemium means that players can play for free, and if they want to get an edge over others or hit a brick wall, pay some money to move forward - which is not the case anymore for MPQ.
The new PvE content is impossible to beat without any boosts, even with 3*141 characters. Seriously having to beat 3*230 toons for every single mission??? It would be possible if they didn't pop 3 (short) countdown tiles every single fricking turn! And as soon as one reaches, you're massacred whatever characters you have. I can only beat those with a hefty pool of blues so my Spidey can chain stun them.
You want to balance it for advanced players? Then why are we getting them ALL red (impossible), and not green (easy) or yellow (moderate)? Balancing means, that we don't sweep over every single mission with 2 hits from our team, while at the same time not forcing us to use (paid) boosts for every single one!
Like one player above me said, the past week I moved from 3-4 hours of daily play, to just log in for my daily bonus (that sadly enough am getting from the Shield simulator lol)
If your goal is to beat Zynga at the best cash cow contest, then good luck with it, I won't help you achieve that goal, while if your goal is to make enough money to live wealthy and keep providing your player base with new content and ongoing fun, then it's time to revert some of your latest changes.
Today your game is 'unplayable' without paying, and I for one won't and cannot encourage such practices. Sorry.

    +1

The average stars of the last reviews is like 2/5 or lower, most recurring themes being "used to be good/great" and "greedy devs"
  • Is the Google app store by region (or market?)? Just curious since it is still at 4.3 average rating when I open the link above. If that be the case, it is not quite as powerful a weapon as people seem to think it is.

Edit: It has to be. The numbers simply cannot be on global scale.
