Please put an in-game announcement about the nerf

i'm going to try to keep this one short and sweet:

There are significant changes that are going to happen on March 23rd to one of the best characters in the game, 4* Thor (and one of the newest, 3* Iron Fist). Although those on the forum are well aware of the matter, there are plenty of players that are not, and with the current sale it is quite probable that a few people looking to get a leg up might purchase these characters' covers or ISO in order to level up said characters without knowing these changes will occur soon.

Out of a sense of decency and good business practice, please put up an in-game notice to alert everyone of these changes.

Thank you.

(Edited to add: Please do not forget to mention the changes to 3* Mystique and 2* Magneto as well.)

  • This is so true...I didn't know this forum was here until I had played the game probably 6 months.

For all the good that D3 has done though the past few months, it is something like this that makes you wonder what the hell they're doing.

I'm guessing they don't want to give too much notice so that they can:

    1. Continue to scheme off the player base that doesn't know about the upcoming nerf.
    2. Reduce the amount of backlash and negative feedback they're going to receive.

You would think that an in game notification would be SOP (standard operating procedure), but nope, they want to rip off as many as they can.

Hopefully it means they're still thinking about the nerfs...too much credit?
  • Extremely shady business practice.

I'm hoping Devs have 0 say in stuff like this and can't go over the weasel revenue mind behind this game. Devs seem like nice guys from videos. ISO sale after debacle, lol just lol.

Considering the nerfs were announced the same day as the Rags buff, and Rags had an announcement....

    Shady is an understatement.

If they don't do it, it will definaltely let you know what their intentions are.

They just did... an announcement about hp and iso sale. icon_e_ugeek.gif great timing no doubt about that lol
  • Been waiting for that sale to buy the last few goddess Thor covers? Now is your chance!

Seriously, D3 I do think these character changes come from a place of the devs trying to do what they think is right by the game even if there is disagreement about how far the changes should go, but if your sale entices anyone to unkowingly buy HP for character covers that are about to be changed then it makes the company look really bad. Get an announcement up pronto, consider it CYA.

    Agreed.

They don't even need to comment on nerfs in the popup.
Simply use standard PR speech that keeps everyone informed.

    For example:

"Also, check out our exciting new changes coming out soon!"
(insert link to the News & Announcements page of this website)"

That would be a step, but it's not enough. If they're going to announce buffs like Rags in-game, they should announce nerfs as well. They don't have to tell the whole story, but "exciting new changes" is disingenuous, imho.
  • Oh look, an HP sale. With no mention of upcoming changes in game. And a miserable buy back for changed characters in a week, no cover purchase refunds. Shady man, just shady.

Not likely, there is no mention of the coming nerfs on facebook either. every other promotion and tournament is posted there, changes that really matter? only the few that frequent the forums get that knowledge

Good god! They announce the "changes". A lot of people get upset because of how they handle these nerfs relating to how much it costs to cover characters. They put up a post telling us we can get 1k HP if we go and give them free advertising on youtube. Then they announce a sale a few days later with NO mention in game that there are rather significant changes coming to a number of characters. To all the people who are trying to defend them what more evidence do you need to change your mind? This is ridiculously shady. We're not talking about $5 to cover a character. If that's what it was then fine who cares but you could be talking about people spending over $50 or more to cover Thoress. This kind of stuff makes me go into Hulk smash mode it really does.

Whatever happened to "funbalance"? That was the popup that appeared the first time I ever played the game.

How many coincedences does it take, before they are not coincedences anymore.

I agree -- it seems only right to note that there are changes afoot. Even if it just says "visit the forums for details", at least people will be aware.

    The answer is clearly "42".

What I'd really like to see is them drive more traffic to the forums. That way people are informed and become better players and consumers.

I don't think you have the right question.
