Top 10? Nah, I'm going for a top 50 and only try for top 10 if I see the levels are reasonable. Unfortunately, I played quite a lot in the last pve and the scaling I'll face will most likely be insane. If they announce a nerf to his purple before I join, I may even leave it for a last 3h run and try my best without spending too much time.

Question. So what is the strategy here? Do you wait until finding out the lowest point lead and join that bracket? Or join the bracket with the lowest amount of people?

Generally speaking, you don't want to join a bracket where you're way behind, especially if some subs have already finished. If you can get into a fresh bracket, you can start late without having to start behind. But after the first day or two, brackets start to fill very, very slowly, so if you join a bracket that's been open for long enough, you can get locked out of doing well.

It's essentially about maximizing your effort:reward efficiency.

Well, slice 3 is now at 774 so it seems there was something of a lull, although I think it it still looking bleak as to this bracket will fill before the event ends. I guess people stil looking for a bracket will already have figured that slice 2 ismost likely the best bet.

I'd rather have a b;old bath with 150 people and have a chance at top 150 than join any of the brackets as is with no chance at all. The last PvE had 3-4 brackets per slice for Hood who's been around for a long time but this event has been filling at a snail's pace for a new character that looks very promising. Go figure...

Why do you think slice 2 is the best bet when slice 3 has 100 more players and I think has a better chance of filling before the end? For the first time ever, it seems as though the gamble is not going to pay off...

Based on that pace, slice 3 fills with about 24 hours to go, so its a good improvement. Also a nice demonstration of the small sample size issue that we are working with here.

Personally, I think Slice 1 and 5 are both likely to fill (70% for slice1 and 90% for slice 5), with Slice 4 (40%) and slice 3 (20%) having outside chances. Very unlikely slice 2 fills
