Slice 1 appears to receive 5 player/hour. If this continues, it will probably fill just before (~1-2 hours) the current sub ends. This means that those who enter the new bracket will be able to play a few games in the current sub and these will be extra points compared to the players who join after the new sub opens. I mention this because I don't think the game hardcore enough yet and I want to keep you on your toes.

Edit: I am seriously considering that the best for me would be to join 2-3 hours before the end and hope for the best. I have no desire to fight it out with the bloodthirsty remaining vets.

I've got Slice 1 at 1000. Assuming no one has been sandboxed, the new vet bracket should be open. There is a chance, if someone has been sandboxed, that if you join now, you'll be number 1001.

The ending time isn't convenient for me so I don't aim for top 20 but I hope there will enough room for everyone in top 150!!

I gave in and jumped in thinking that the extra points from the current sub would be precious, but boy was I wrong. I started seeing levels in the range of 170-190 before I played 3-4 nodes. Things are going downhill here. Advice to those who have not joined yet. Better try your luck in the last few hours (2-4) before the end. Now I wish I had enough covers of Mystique for me to use her with MNMags.

Update:Run out of healing packs 7 minutes before the sub ends. I think I will land in the #20-25 in main. I predict a grim future. How are people able to climb so fast against 170-200 level opponents? Today's lesson learned. Join late and hope for the best. 1 extra cover is not worth this ridiculous grind. Landing in a bracket with all the crazies (no insult intended) is a nightmare.

Eeeeek!! Slice 1 has become a horrible death bracket.

Joined about 30-45 minutes in if I remember correctly. Did a grind, not frantic but constant and right around regular speed. I'm in the 30's with around 8500, top is around 17k, and there are 91 players.

Looks like everyone was watching this thread, and I should have waited/hoped for the late brackets to fill, like I'd initially planned

Oh right, the last set of subs ended 15 minutes ago. Anyone joining now, good luck on ever getting top 50 if that's what you're going for. The first 90 or so seem to have an extra sub.

The current slice 1 opened with about 90 mins left of its sub so the people who joined before its end do have a bit of an advantage for sure. Top 150 is still more than possible and maybe top 50. Top 50 will depend on what the people up top are doing but considering its full of forumites I'd think they'll all be playing optimally/semi-optimally.

Nonsense. It's all a the result of this thread right here. Basically any bracket that is advertised here is going to be crazy competitive. You better have some awesome running shoes if you want a top10 in any slice in any of those advertised brackets. The top is always going to be stacked.

If you want to avoid death brackets your only choice is joining day 1.

The problem has been semi exacerbated by the fact slice 1 was the only slice closing for definite in the last two days of the event. So it was either join this slice or wait until the final few hours of slice 5 and hoped it closed.
