Plus of course the prog reward.
I have never had this much luck in the history of tokens ever.
Combined with the covers I already had I can level the merc w/mouth to 127. Should I? I only have 2 only toons at 127 (Blade and Cap).
If I do level up deadpool should I wait until the event is over, even if it is just 8 hours left for my bracket?
that is truly sweet man.
so far out of the 15(? i think) ive gotten ONE, a squirrel girl purple. i feel like someone spit in my eye and as i was wiping away the spit, they kicked me in the nuts . gold tokens are so terrible. i thought the odds were like 1 in 5 or 6, but damn if it doesnt seem like 1 in 20. cant recall the last gold i got from a pvp event token.
Tokens are about 25-30% IIRC. Not very good odds at all0 -

depends how you feel about PVE scaling. New information was revealed recently that its not simply based on player levels, but also "health loss".
PVE scaling is my big fear. Right now my roster is no longer in contention for top 100 so I lean a lot heavier on PVE.
Good to know about the scaling. I thought it relied primarily on top levels, or average levels, or some combo. I see now that the system is far more convoluted.
Well It's hard to say about PVE scaling since D3 won't give us a straight answer.
From what I know:
PVE USED to work in that things would scale to your highest level, buffed.
NOW it's "supposed" to work based on "health loss"(what does that mean? does that mean sentry is top tier for low PVE scaling? What about True Healers?)
All I know is I'm keeping my roster at level 114 max(So MagStorm is still effective) until I can actually break the 166 wall.0 -

Yes, the odds seem to never be in your/our favor. I think it was the previous edition of Iso 8 Brotherhood where I got 1 gold cover out of 19 tokens IIRC. From that moment on I have the same attitude as some other people have commented: just assume any heroic/event token will result in a 2*, no matter how many you decide to open, and just be pleasantly surprised whenever you get a gold cover. I know this is easier said than done since I forget this mantra sometimes myself, especially when you have a couple of tokens saved up. This is why I now usually decide to open event tokens when I get 2-6 of them and feel like trying my luck.
Hopefully, with the new Deadpool Daily PVE coming, we will all be less starved for gold covers. I believe a steady stream (or trickle, maybe...) will ease the expectations of heroic and event tokens. And who knows what the Taco tokens will be good for, right?0 -

Don't quote me on it but I vaguely remember when TrueHealing started, a dev said that Daken and Wolvie were either excluded from scaling calculations or they were handled differently because they healed in match. I don't think they provided any details beyond that, however.
I've kept my team at 135 (140 for hulk and 150 for XF, but otherwise, that's the case) and have been happy to never see 395s. That Hood node with Jugg and Rags (I can't remember, only played it twice) on the last sub only got to about 207 for me. Manageable but I didn't want to waste healthpacks every match.
I hear these horror stories every few events about leveling an XF prematurely and having their scaling go through the roof for a 2* team, so, I am assuming top levels still play a role but maybe not as prominent of one, maybe? But that's just conjecture.0 -

I feel like I did pretty well - not as well as jordan but I did get dp purple, loki black, falcon yellow, and mystique black (from a std), along with the cyclops. mystique is my only new character, so that is nice - unfortunately may have to sell my extra mbw i loan out sometimes to make room for her. I'm 80 days in and this event was the best token haul for me so far. Was very good for iso too, but hp is still lacking - would have been nice for subs to give hp for top 50 instead of 30. I would have ground a bit more for it - as it was, I was satisfied with a token on each sub.0 -

The odds aren't in your favor, you're right - I assume every token is something I'll turn into ISO and only count on actual covers being offered as 3* or above.
I believe 1/20 or 1/30 standard tokens you should expect a 3* or above, 1/10 or 2/10 heroic/event tokens should result in a 3* or above in terms of pure probability.
I'm crossing my fingers for deadpool dailies.....This would solve alot of the problems i have with this game(particularly the 2* transition) if it's not stupidly implemented.orbitalint wrote:raisinbman wrote:Well It's hard to say about PVE scaling since D3 won't give us a straight answer.

It's hard to say b/c we're just speculating. Either way I would NEVER just level 1 character and try to bank on them(what happens when you can't use that character? what happens when that character is K.O.ed?) especially since it doesn't cut it in PVP0 -
Yeah I wouldn't put any character in distinct level difference from your A, B and even C team because of that but it doesn't mean everyone does it. I've seen more than a few 2* rosters with a 220/270 xf. I can only imagine how bad that situation is. Can't compete at highest levels of PvP yet but likely can't keep up with pve scaling with just xf, obw and Thor/Ares.0

Oh I agree completely with not going all in on one hero, or going too high with your whole team just yet. I think I will keep 127 as the top end of my roster for the time being, even though both of my current 127's could go to 140. I'd like to wait until I have the covers and iso to just sprint to 166 at once.
In the meantime I might check over with the character thread and see what the consensus is of his usefulness.
Thanks for the help everyone!0 -
did anyone else see that the scaling turned off for like 15 minutes on the hard sim??
i hit the hood nodes really fast and then it turned back on. i thought it was christmas for a second.0 -

Deadpool is actually pretty good, as a hero. Ofc, the standard team is 4*Thor/XForce, but Deadpool is #12 on the most recent rankings. A cheap , a annoying , and whales hurts(in my experience) as well as having the option of Whale-bombing if you really feel the need.
5/5/3 is the standard build.0 -
Couldn't pull a secure top 50 before I left for work, so hopefully I did well enough to keep top 100. Love the 8-hour refreshes, but it's tough to keep up with the 12 hour subs.0
-
This is the second pve I played in the last 7-8 months so I wasn't expecting a good placing. Thankfully, 1 hour and 45 minutes were enough for a #10 in main with 12500 and a #1 in the first sub. It's good to taste success with so little work. Although, it was quite stressful; 15 minutes before the end I was #13.0

I was really annoyed with the complete lack of golds from tokens as well... until I drew back to back flashing golds from the alliance reward tokens on a recent sub. Both XF black. Holy Hannah. 3/3/4 now. Is he remotely useful in pve with those cover levels? Might be time to take him over lvl 94? I don't think I've ever even tried to pull him into a node for anything yet...0
-
Grindfest or no gridfest, I do so love the token bonanza that comes from a run of Brotherhood.
(both )
(both )
And I think there are some I'm forgetting that I sold for ISO. Dang.
Edit, oh yeah, . Which I sold for ISO because I already had 5.0 -
Less than 3 hours remaining. Sitting at #3... 6k behind #2... 14k above #10. Half a refresh remaining. ugh.
If I knew #2 wouldn't come back, id definately do it. lol.0 -

Covers do more for 4*s than levels do(For instance my level 70 nick fury deals 758 per 2 cover trap and nearly 2k dmg w/ 3 cover ). XF Black doesn't really get until 5, but it could be worth a shot.
I'd definitely run a covered X-Force if I had one, no matter the level.0 -
Out of seventeen saved up tokens, I got four 3*s, and the only one I could use out of them was a Deadpool black. Ho hum.0
-
Bleh, ending up at rank 53 or so. can't fight up the nearly 2000 points I would have needed.0
-
My Deadpool started the event with just the one red cover. I got the black cover for the progression rewards easily enough, but all the tokens earned gave me a bunch of 2* thor and ms marvel. *sigh* no whales for me then.0
