Don't worry, soon you'll be earning deadpool tacos as well as tokens
  • Oooh. Painful. Uberscaling kicked in while I was out today. This morning, cleaned both subs with no worries. This evening, used all my health packs on three nodes...that are about a hundred levels higher than they were. Oh well. We shall bring down this wall by beating it with our faces!

Ahh Doombots, the most pathetic of all goons. Gotta love an easy essential node that you can grind 3K points out of in less than 10 minutes.
  • Well. D3 manages to set the bar even lower. Obscenely idiotically hard nodes ( doc doom nuking someone for over 7k ), the enemy doing 3 and 4 special moves at a time, a sea of 2 star gold prizes.

I feel sorry for the shlubs who cant hang. I feel sorry for d3 shareholders too.

Hey at least the character prize isnt squirrel girTH.

I do not sure what your roster is, but there are certain line ups better for those tough nodes this set of subs than others. I used hulk this first clear. I am not looking forward to clearing at the end with uber dialed up scaling. I'll probably leave those nodes for last because I'm sure if I lose my health packs those are the nodes that are going to do it.

I don't mind these are hard nodes. Doom and Hood at least provide a mix up after the first million set of subs we have gone through so far.
  • I thought Doombots are one of the better designed villians. They have extremely strong moves and generate a high amount of AP per turn but are incredibly fragile. They've given me a fair share of problem but always seemed pretty fair compared to say, a Muscle that just spews out uber strike tiles while having tank level HPs. They're obviously very hard when combined with Dr. Doom, since they're probably designed to tailor to Dr. Doom's strengths in the first place.

    I CAUGHT YOU!
For the love of God, why do you consider Hood broken then?

Or not anymore, I would hope?
Outside of uber-rare level 200-300+ Hoods in PvE, he's always fragile and matchable to death with combos as limited as Daken/Falcon.

to raisinbman, you surely know winfinite, it's just the name we like for Mystique/MMN + X-Force team. This event, it has a different flavour, X-Force/Deadpool/Mystique. Dropping buffed 6200 whales on enemy teams is significantly faster than anything else you could hope to do with unbuffed Mystique, and the team makes every colour you get from Surgical Strike work, except maybe yellow/red, but red you can still use for direct damage, and if you're gonna SS Hood or someone else with strongest yellow, you can simply use Masterstroke instead. So far, all essential nodes have been giving me purple/blue/green colours anyway, so I'm whaling them to no end with the help of the blue lady.

Because Doombots are compared to other goons while The Hood is compared to player characters? There are several goons that generate a very high amount of HP and have very strong attacks and still have a ton of HP, so Doombots lacking HPs despite having high AP generation (usually 2 in 2 colors) and great abilities is okay when there are goons that are good in all 3 (like Muscle). If Muscle is a playable character, even the most broken of characters would not look very broken compared to him.
  • Right now, with about half an hour left on the third-to-last set of subs (I'm in Slice 1), I'm in 4th place, about 10k up on #10, and feeling pretty good about my chances for top ten, despite having to work today. The next sub won't be great, but my strategy for the one that started last night appears to have worked out well and I'll probably repeat it tonight. I think I can keep pace; the 8-hour refreshes help when you've got a sub or two you can't play optimally.

Another thing: regardless of how many Cyclops covers I get, the tokens have paid off pretty well in this. I got a Yellow Rocket & Groot and two Red Luke Cages (one of which I actually had to sell) from event tokens and my fifth Yellow Squirrel Girl this morning from a Standard.

This thing has been about as grindy as an old 2.5 hour refresh one thanks to the crazy short subs, though. Hoping I can take a break the next few days.

I'm just glad there are "gold" 500 and 1000 ISO awards in these nodes...I had forgotten what a "gold" award looked like considering I've gotten nothing whatsoever from my last 10-15 Heroics or Event-Specific Golds.

I can't beat California III for the life of me. Barely got a win last night before the scaling went crazy (My roster is maxed star.pngstar.png , so obviously Lv. 161 Lieutenant/Bullseye/Ares). Between constant healing, protect tiles and Ares one-shotting my OBW/Thor/Ms. Marvel team I lost them for a good three hours. Of course, I work on the other missions in California and they go up to 170, so there's even less of a reason to go back.

Yeah, I actually wiped that node a couple times, even with x-force and uberDP. Had to just cheese it using a full set of ISO boosts and FT....which is probably not useful for you

I noticed California scaling went bonkers for me as well. I wonder if they tweak it to try and consume your resources right before the end of the event.

The Canada node with Doom and two Brawlers is terrifyingly difficult. Doom early combo'd into Technopathic Strike twice and proceeded to summon so many demons I thought Hell was having a conference on my board. Both my A and B teams got demolished. I was able to heal up and push through. but that's one node I won't be grinding when the final countdown hits.

Unrelated: I knew my chance for an Elektra cover was shot when I saw Malorick in my sub. Gotta say, though, watching him and Red Panda duel for top spots has been really entertaining.

Say what? X-Force and 4or: health - good/OP; skills - OP; AP generation - OP. How is Hood possibly broken compared to that? His health is the poorest imaginable, active skills are average/situationally solid, AP generation/denial is merely very strong.
Not clamoring to nerf either XF or 4or. Nope. I like them the way they are... Of course they are 4* but BP or lazy Thor are still rated higher than Hood in all character rankings, perhaps because they win in more categories, of which health is not the least significant one.

raisinbman: not sure why the downvote, lol, I sorta assumed you knew about Mystique/MMN because you also gave me an upvote recently when I was talking about this same team: viewtopic.php?p=274420#p274420

Meanwhile, screenies from the latest sub, just for fun:

Is Onslaught a good TU to keep when drains your green? I'm usually looking to use green for something else.

I use Onslaught on my Blade/Daken/Falcon team, or during Heroics when X Force is never available and Onslaught becomes a good option depending on who you're given.

They are high level, and Ares has a ridiculously good AP/damage ratio. I used to use them a lot on greenless teams that cannot use the green AP otherwise, like LC/Hood/oBW or some other LC teams (with IM 40, say). The event hasn't been hard enough yet for me to turn to team-ups, but with the Hood/Doom now might finally get to use some.

agreed - I usually don't get this lucky with pulls, but considering there's heroics(from alliance) and event tokens(from personal), that's 3-4 per set of subs. Eventually probability has to favor me.

Use MagStorm. OBW can steal purple from Goon, exploit that. I wouldn't be using 2*Marv unless I had a good reason.

Ugh, out of health packs. Doom + goons and Doom + Ares = gee gee

You could say that about almost every event. icon_razz.gif
Also, this event used to be twice as long. That's right, 9 days of this. So...umm...yeah. Enjoy. icon_e_biggrin.gif
