Why change 3* prize to 2* prize on gauntlet?

Then pray tell, what do you want? If you don't want or need compensation, and you admit they acknowledged it already (but you don't want a further apology apparently), what's...the point? I'm completely lost.
You're claiming you don't appreciate their lack of "communication" or "acknowledgement", but you literally turn around in the next response to say that they did respond (also know as communication) and they did claim the mistake (also know as acknowledgement/taking the burden), but apparently it's not up to snuff? What are you wanting exactly? A memorandum? Would you like a cathedral build in the monument of the typo?
It was a typo. It doesn't warrant anything but a "yeah, it was a typo, sorry about that. It's fixed now.".0 -
You're allowed to be a mod? Holy ****.0

They acknowledged it in a **** way. **** delivery can make good content seem bad. Please don't make me quote, bold and change the font of these sentences as well.0 -

Also the hyperbole to try to discredit the same things over and over don't weaken my argument by strengthening yours. It just makes your argument weaker by trying to put words in my mouth, as opposed to debating the points, the same points I am making, which is shown by the fact that I am quoting text from earlier posts.
If I was to nitpick, it's not a typo, as it is an image and not text, unless they have a special keyboard that has a star on it.0 -
The_Valeyard wrote:I'm surprised at the animosity in this thread. The icon had 3* on it. No where did it state the 10 pack had any guaranteed 3*s in it. People made an assumption instead of simply asking if what the 3* meant. If people would have taken a minute to ask, we could have gotten an answer and this thread would not be necessary.
When someone finally asked, they told us it was a typo which is what almost all the player base was pretty sure of to begin with.
I can understand people being upset there was a typo. That was their mistake. Assuming what that 3rd* meant was not their fault, and for that part, people should not be upset at mpq.
1* tokens offer 1* or better
2* tokens offer 2* or better
3* tokens offer .... 2* or better?
When was the last time 3* tokens were offered?0 -
So....you're upset because they addressed a typo in a display....by talking to us like human beings and having a normal exchange with us? Not talking to us like we're chimps and they're corporate shills? I find this backwards as Hell, personally.
I literally didn't understand what more you wanted. It didn't make sense to me. It still doesn't make sense to me. I'm still not sure exactly what you wanted. A sticky thread to address it? In-Game announcement? Enlighten me, oh wise debater. Expound on your points a less gregariously.
What's the point of the outcry? Are we just complaining to hear our own hot air? Do you guys want something? I mean, if you're complaining just for the sake, more power to you, you have freedom of expression and all that jazz, but to me it's a pointless, frivolous action and a waste of energy and time. If you're trying to accomplish something, then out with it; what do you want?0 -
I demand a refund!
I didn't spend anything, so this should be pretty easy.0 -
It always struck me as something that can't possibly end well to categorize reward with *s when they're not covers or tokens. Where is my **** iso reward? Why is 500 iso 8 2* but 1000 iso 8 3*? A 10 pack token costs 2800-3800 HP to purchase depending on the event, so shouldn't it be 4*s? The possibilities for pointless complaints are endless!0

Who is upset? Where is the typo? Maybe you're reading my posts in your voice/tone, and there lies your problem. If you notice most of the upvoted posts in this thread, they are in relation to advice about communication on D3's part. If I was upset, one of my posts would probably say I am upset. You probably would've missed it anyway, but I'll tell you now, it's not in any of my posts.
What more I wanted, is better communication, more specifically, better delivery on their messages. I'm sorry it doesn't make sense to you. I don't think you understand the words that are coming out of my keyboard. I don't need to expound on my points, because it boils down to the same thing. I am saying the same thing now, that I've said in previous points.
I'm sorry if you read outcry in replies, that's on you. Plenty of other people are reading my comments, and get the point. Sorry that I have to repeat them, bold them, and color them for you to understand. Sadly, I still don't think doing all those things is getting the point across to you. D3 is pretty bad at delivering news, announcements and communication in general. I think if we had a poll on whether people are satisfied with their communication, more people would say no, then yes. I will go create that poll, so that maybe you will be able to understand that.0 -

I'm not sure what their normal exchange is that you're describing. A normal exchange when someone messes up either begins or ends with an apology and that was not and has not been in any of their replies.0 -
I don't know about where you guys come from, but where I come from, when someone makes a relatively minor mistake, they don't have to make a flamboyant display about how they're sorry. They admit their mistake, fix it (if possible), an we both nod at each other and go about our ways. No, they didn't literally say "we're sorry for this miniscule mistake we made", but if not in full, they impart are apologizing for their actions by firstly admitting it and secondly fixing it. If they we're attempting to make amends (which is what an apologize if for) they probably would have ignored you and/or never fixed it.
Where I came from, we expect fancy "We're sorry for the inconvenience posts" form the likes of Microsoft, Apple, and Samsung; the people we know don't give a good God damn about us or any real goodwill.
So yeah, maybe I'm weird for thinking them making one post saying "yeah, that was messed up, this is how it was supposed to be, there was no real bug, it was just a typo/graphical error" and then following up with another post going "yeah, we found it earlier, but for us to push it through with the content, we would have had to delay the content and we didn't want to do that" as for a reason as to why it wasn't addressed immediately.
That's pretty good to me. I don't want stupid politician answers from the guys I get answers from about the games I play. I want them to be real, honest answers, especially if they're coming form the mouth's of the guys programming the game I'm playing. I don't like robots and I don't want them coding my games.0 -
I think one of the biggest issues being overlooked here that might be getting everyone's panties in a bunch isn't the super few that had a chance at winning the ten packs, but instead how many tried for them, the time they set aside to do nothing but play like a madman, and the in-game resources they spent trying to place top ten.
When I saw the rewards I thought "holy tiny kitty!" It made sense to me; only ten people out of thousands would win a ten-pack of guaranteed 3*s. Why else would the reward structure be set up with so much dichotomy?! As a previous poster stated...a 1* token guarantees a 1*, a 2* guarantees at the very least a 2*...so why in the world would it not be safe to assume a 3* token guaranteed a 3*? Like I said, if you look at the reward structure it sure made sense. Furthermore, with D3 repeatedly saying that they wanted to make transisitioning easier, this seemed like a good way to start.
Personally I wouldn't have played as hard as I did if I knew it was the normal **** ten-pack filled with Hawkeye and Moonstone covers. Do I deserve anything as compensation? No, but I sure as heck would like to see D3 treat our time, money, and effort with a little more respect than how they handled this snafoo.0 -
In the end, just add it to the category of D3 mistakes, problems, errors & glitches. Which is a rather large pile at this stage of the game. It makes me wonder, which straw will finally break the camel's back?0

From the pop up at the beginning of each gauntlet stage:
"Be one of the first 10 people to beat all missions in Wilderness Survival and win a 10x Gauntlet Token."
I'm surprised that anyone thought that meant a 10 pack filled with just 3 stars.
Have you ever ever seen that before?0 -

But there was a picture with 3*s on it. It just created the possibility for confusion and speculation. It's like if there was a sign with an arrow pointing left but the text says right turn. Which one is wrong, the image or the text? Whichever is wrong is really irrelevant, but if there was a sign before that (communication upfront) that says right turn ahead, it would eliminate the confusion. Might be a **** analogy, but I'm sleepy and tired because I just beat the Gauntlet.0 -

That's right it created "confusion and speculation." For MPQ's part, they changed it to 2* when the typo was discovered. This "communicated" that the initial graphic should have had only 2*'s. If any one was still unclear at this point, they could have just asked, although I have no clue what would still have been fuzzy about it. So, there should be no outrage over a lack of communication. If you do not like how it was communicated, that is a you problem.
As for the initial speculation, the answer is right there. Then, the speculators seem to want to be upset at everyone else because they made the speculation. People made speculations (or wanted MPQ to read their minds that they wanted confirmation) instead of simply asking for clarification.0 -

2000 ISO is considered 4 stars.
The star rating is arbitrary. The text that pops up every single time you open the gauntlet says it is a 10x gauntlet token.
If it were an all 3 star 10 pack, I believe it would have mentioned that.0 -
Why would anyone think the 10-pack gave 10 3*s? Did you start playing yesterday? That is literally the only excuse for this assumption. Anyone with any experience in the game would have a more realistic assumption.
The 10-pack's percentage rate was listed from the start. Personally, I would consider a 10-pack a 3* prize, in that there is a much better than average chance of a 3* cover. Maybe others think a 10-pack of something is a so-so present.
It once again emphasises that this forum is overloaded with aggressive, over-demanding kids. Sorry. It's one thing to be frustrated by a game, but it's another thing to demand to be paid out to by a 'free' game.0
