Why change 3* prize to 2* prize on gauntlet?

I pushed hard to secure top 10 in the first 2 gauntlets because the picture showed 3*. Now after multiple people have completed their gauntlets you decide to change the prize. How is that acceptable? If you messed up and put the wrong picture up, own up to your mistake and give those that finished top 10 the 3* pack that was originally there for top 10.

I don't think there has ever been 3* tokens in the game, so a lot of people already assumed it was just a typo.

I spent 200 HP and 27 all color boosts, plus countless 2 color boosts to race to 9th place in Alpine Tactics, I think that is sub 2. That was a small price to pay for 10 3*. Now it's just a regular 10 pk? C'mon D3. I agree with OP.

Always better to under promise and over deliver, than over promise and under deliver.
  • Wow, did they really change the top 10 to a pack of 2*s?????

i know I saw a 10 pack of 3*s as the reward for top 10 the other day.

I guess the star.pngstar.pngstar.png was meant to represent that it's “better” than a pack of heroics (spoiler warning: It's not, boosted odds of 4 star.png characters are infinitely better than boosted odds on select 3 star.png characters) in the same way that 1000 or 2000 ISO is a star.pngstar.pngstar.png reward even though it's obviously not a rare cover. But boy, was it ever unclear.

Luckily I didn't spend any HP speedrunning the Wilderness Survival sub, and didn't even try on the others. If I had, I'd be annoyed.

Yeah they should have put 1 * instead of 3. icon_rolleyes.gif

Pretty much exactly what's been stated here. The 3* notation made it seem like the Token was giving out a higher tier of things than it actually is. Sure, there's a chance of 3*s (and 4*s) in there, but 2*s are more likely so it should be a 2* token. Just a mistake in rarity for the token itself.

It would have been really good to have up-front communication on this. The number of stars on a token has always corresponded to the minimum rarity of the cover it will dispense; even the anniversary tokens were star.pngstar.png . Changing that up without notice (assuming this was deliberate and not a typo) is non-good.

Not deliberate, hence why it was flipped to a 2* reward just like the Heroic 10 Packs.

Actually yes. 1* on a gold background means only a possible upside. 3* on a gold background means there is a possible upside and downside.

You can't show the top reward as a 10 pack of 3* and then NOT grant 3 * or better rewards..... Or expect a lot of confusion.

If I spent to try and win, I would be icon_hulk.png angry . What was rewarded exactly, 10 Gauntet tokens?

    talk about dangling a carrot.

And that's why proofreading is important, everybody!

(Not a dig at the devs, just a moment of smugness for my profession)

Wel...is there a chance you could change it back to 3 stars? or has this become a policy thing in demi where there is no chance that a 3 star token pack would be made a reward ever?

Why did it take the developers so long to notice/fix What the players saw in the event preview?

We noticed, but fixing it means pushing it into a daily patch, making sure said patch functions correctly, etc. Which we did. It's just not in the realm of "OMG, this needs to be fixed nao or the servers will explode" hotfixes is all.

So...pisss off 99.9% of the players by putting placement rewards on a traditionally non competitive event, then piss off the remaining .1% by changing the reward.

Thanks for getting to the forums in a timely manner to let us know that you noticed. icon_rolleyes.gif
  • Oh no, I hope this won't cause any whales to ragequit.
  • I'm going to give you some advice because I still like this game.

Things like we will make it up to you, I'm sorry, we messed up, or even my bad go a long way towards making people accept mistakes easier.
