I have to wonder who this really helps.
The main focus should be the 3-4 progression because as of currently there isn't such a thing.
Mainly this helps people who already have 4s to gain more 4s even quicker.

As a 3 Star player I have yet to see how feasible it is to get to 1000. You still need to chew through 4 Star health with your lousy 3s. How would old Sentry fare against those 270 4hor Xforces?
I still would like a way to earn 4s without having to beat up people who already have them. The retaliations are instant at that point.

We will have to see how this encourages a 3-4 transition. Right now I am a bit sick of Xforce + 1 teams taking up the whole top25 and more.

You can beat 4* teams with good 3*s.

Not after their retal. It's pointless to attack someone you know can grind you into the ground in a retal.
Sure, if they're worth more than 25 points. Especially if you can drag them into a retal war where you end up profiting

Well, first time I grinded to 900 points was much easier than anticipating, and that's with me being really safe and not even using half my roster. I had 9000 HP saved up to buy a bunch of XForce covers but it looks like it'll be much easier and cheaper just to do a couple shield hops to get the 1000 covers. Now I'm just at the mercy of the reward schedule.

Between this and 8 hour refreshes in PVE I'm going to actually participate in PVP now.

So as a transitioning 2>3 star player. I just got my highest score in pvp I have ever got. 460 and that's only because the people who attacked me lost. I usually end up in the 350 range. And even with the 460 I still ended up in rank 204. And the people next to me on the ranking all had at least one level 100 character. Most had a team of about 140 or above. My highest characters are 7 maxed 2*. So my chances at getting a 3* prize, even if I had the hp to shield hop, is squat.

Not to sound callous, but I don't really see what your complaint is. We've all been there. Almost everyone other than those that dropped a ton of money the day they started has gone through the growing pains of maxing out 2*s then transitioning to 3*s and had to live with scores in the 200-500 range. Heck, when I started playing over a year ago it was even harder to max 2* characters as there were no occasional random cover rewards after a victory. Getting 2* covers then was almost as difficult as getting 3* covers now. Part of the fun and gratification of MPQ is working your way up from the hunted to the hunter and watching your best score improve as your roster does. The importing thing is to find a good alliance that will help you earn covers and ISO you wouldn't be able to get on your own. As you start to level your 3*s your best score will continue to improve, just stick with it and you'll be earning the higher level rewards before you know it!

My compliant is I've been stuck at this level for three months. And when I look at the over 100 hours of playing this game I expect to see some progress. I don't see that. In fact it looks like I'm going backwards. As of right now I have a 6% chance of pulling a useful 3* or higher. Next week it'll be 5%. I'm not trying saying that the transition to a 3* team has ever been easy. But I need to see that I'm getting somewhere. Even if it is slow.

I stillllllll cannot see how ANY of those changes could EVER help a 2 star roster, but.....okay. lol
  • Feedback on the Versus Rewards change:

Lowering the top reward from 1300 to 1000, in combination with the shield cool downs, produces a better, more favorable outcome for me as a player: The difference is that I can now hit the top progression award, whereas before I never even tried.

The HP cost to reach 1000 for me was 425 HP in the first Blade PVP test, and maybe ~550 HP in this second Thor PVP, not necessarily including boosts. What I get out of it is a 4* cover at a reduced cost compared to just outright buying it. I have bought 4* covers, but fighting for them on the field of battle feels much more rewarding than just "paying to win" as they say. What the game/(devs) get(s) is that I'm now a net HP spender.

Before the change, I would just spend 75HP for a 3 hour shield at the end of every PVP. I could sustain this without ever buying HP. Now, I'm finding myself buying HP, pushing higher and getting more competitive with my alliance and in season bracket, but also getting good value for HP I spent. So the bottom line is I'm now paying some money for 4* covers that before I would have never paid for (but eventually got through random token drops). The game has created the incentive for me to spend more HP, and I feel I get good value for that investment.

I think the 1000 point mark is just about right. It takes me about 2-3 shield hops, often relying on 4hor/xforce. I imagine that's a reasonable balance for someone at my point on the power curve. I also see that this change increased competition. I suspect that many other players like me who would hit 800 and call it a ball before are now incentivized to battle it out for 1000. As a result, top100 alliances will see a slight increases in player performances, I suspect. It feels a bit more invigorated.

Since there are many new characters coming out this year, including 4*, and it's 13 covers to complete a character, I see aiming for 1000 PVP progression is basically sustainable indefinitely for players like me without risk that I'll collect them all and get bored.

    Hope this helps!

P.S. the only improvement I'd suggest making (as others already have) is to show the time left in shield cooldowns in the shield menu so that players don't have to guess "Is the 8 hour shield available again for me to use after this hop? I forget when I used it previously, I hope it's not still in cool down..."

1000 really is a good number for the 4*. It's challenging without being impossible, which is the opposite of what 1300+cooldowns was.

I missed in Thor because I had two disastrous matches during the last hop, but I'm ok with risking 75hp (or 150, depending on timing) to win 2500.

A question I have is how you're supposed to transition from 3* to 4* without Xforce or 4hor. I have the best 10 or so 3*'s maxed or near maxed, and yet, without Xforce or 4hor, there's a limit to how well you can do once you hit about 700-800. I don't know how you're supposed to earn 4*'s without a 4*. In the past, I think you could Sentry bomb your way to the progression, but that was too hard for me because I didn't max Sentry until right before he was nerfed. I guess I want to know if there's a way to progress in 4*'s faster than "playing PVE perfectly" or "have a 4* already for PVP". So far, all I can do is slowly save up 2500 hp to slowly buy Xforce covers so that one day I might be able to earn other 4* covers. I don't know if anyone else who doesn't have Xforce well covered has any tips.
  • Yep. As a player transitioning from 3* to 4*, 1k seems actually reachable, when 1.3k was just never going to happen. This feels more "right".
  • As someone who became a Sniper due to the horrible PVP matchmaking (always lost ~21 points/match I WON after reaching 700 - 800 pts), I previously stated that the 1100 point star.pngstar.pngstar.png reward "was an illusion."

No joke, I think I'll have to see if this change has any effect on that previous assessment.
I actually wonder what my PVP record score was...? I'll repost if I find it.

As posted Here, the 1st test was an eye-opening(and splitting) disaster. As posted Here, the second test will begin in Cat-5.

    Results to follow....
