-36 hours, in first place and I've hit the "I've had enough of this event" moment

Just started recently and have a LOT of points to make up.

Any suggested teams for Ares, Yelena and 3* Daken? (who already wiped me once).

Dunno what you have but my best teams would be HT/Blade/Spidey, Daredevil/mStorm/Spidey, Daredevil/Blade/A.Wolvie, oBW/Daredevil/A.Wolvie, etc. Used DD/mStorm/Spidey successfully without boosts against lvl 283 just now.
Daredevil used to suck against Daken but his new blue is actually quite reliable (I have it maxed), you can almost stunlock Daken and have Ambush protected against his purple. Self-triggering Ambush is awesome!
DD's purple is serviceable at 3 covers, probably very decent at 5, but you can simply run oBW or Blade's instead. Ares/Daken/Yelena are rainbow so it's recommendable to field rainbow yourself.

    Thanking you...

Sadly most my 3* characters here are not well covered, so I don't know how that is going to work out...

I manage to beat that node more often than not with a maxed Torch, OBW, and cStorm. aWolvie might be an acceptable substitute for Torch depending on the levels.

Of course, if Ares gets enough yellow things go badly for me.
  • I was generally pleased that my standard goon team of OBW/Cap/MStorm was available for the first tower event, and on a heroic no less! Definitely liking being able to mix up the teams, though some of the rougher nodes are still hard without your A-Team.

This last wave is being pretty stingy with the points. Level 200 characters to fight for 800 points. Getting to be a pain to build up Torch.
  • Well, got the top progression reward yesterday and now I'll have to grind this event for one more day just to secure my top150 position (currently around 80...). With no more rewards to be earned icon_e_sad.gif Still can't stop grinding as squirrel girl will of course be the required character in the next PVE.

Would be nice to receive 500 iso or so,for every 10k points...
  • I'm finding the third sub easier than the second sub, though the lack of Juggernauts (I"m skipping the two highest non-essential nodes) has a lot to do with that. Goon nodes are almost always easier, and these certainly are, especially with Falcon available.
  • I hit the greenflag.png HT progression yesterday. But this may be the first event I don't push hard for the rank rewards. I'm still playing but mostly to grab those 500 iso rewards in the essential nodes.

Its no dislike of Squirrel Girl. I just have so many 3* lvl 40 characters, I just don't have room for another to sit there for months unused, plus I'd have to buy HP.

Overall I agree, but Ares/Laken/Yelena is laughably difficult. It's the first time I think ever that I simply cannot beat a node.

Edit: Still never had a node defeat me. Took roughly 20 tries, but finally got a good enough board to not have Ares one shot my lineup.

That node wiped me a few times until I tried OBW, AWolvie, Falcon. A boosted Falcon and boosted AWolvie are a deadly combo for quick big damage strike tiles, plus Falcons blue can eat away at Daken's strike tiles while OBW does her best to make sure Ares does not do anything you will regret with her steal and extra damage. I ended up not having to use OBWs heal at all with all characters having at least 3/4 of their health when I was done.

that's what I suggested in my 'MPQ improvement thread' viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21439

their levels make it so you can bullsheep your way through the fight, like most heroics. You really need a proper team for them

Still seeing the missing point bug.

Most noticeable for me last night, I just finished a full clear, on the last node I was 2 tinykitty points short of the Human Torch award. icon_evil.gif

So I found another node on cool-down and hit it again.

Imagine my surprise when I finished that fight to be more than 200 points shy of 55,000.

I'm not sure if it's a display bug, or a calculation bug, but it's really annoying!

I think that it's a display bug...from my personal observations, it seems like the sub counter is ok but the event counter sometimes starts where it should've ended after you got the points (so the points won are actually counted in your factual total but they give you the wrong impression by displaying a false total after adding the points on top of your real total).
  • I've been beating 'time for some answers' with ares, ldaken, yelena more often than not, but it can go seriously sideways very quickly. Usually getting it done with OBW, so anytime the board is p/b starved, or if the ai manages to beat you to them when its important... your gonna have a bad time. Ares is just absurd anyway. A 10+ap in every color cascade against him in hotshot pvp just wiped my patch/Lcap team. I figured, I'd let patch take the assault, heal back up by letting cap or the loaner take matches for a couple turns... not so much. Sunder brought his health under the threshold. Ramage hit everyone like a truck, and then he had more green than I though, which dropped patch and left cap and loaner with 200hp. If he can do that at 94, then a 230 version just hurts that much more. It seriously doesn't help that they switched TinyDaken out for Ldaken in that node, as strike tile saturation only takes a few matches of green by either side... who both need to compete for it. Just letting Ares have all the green is a great way to chew on an axe. I can't even say how badly I want to Stormneto or Mag.stique their butts!

Oddly, when I got home it said my timers were 4:50 left, and I freaked a little considering they'd said they wouldn't change the timers on a new character, and here it is toward the end of the event. However, closing the game and applying the patch seems to have fixed that odd bug.
  • The patch that nerfed enemy match damage made the high level nodes considerably easier. For the final node, your enemy has all but purple covered in terms of ability damage (Payback Mission has a very significant chance to totally screw up Flame Jet or KYEC and you're not beating that node without in a realistic time without these two abilities), you might as well just let the computer pick their attack color and hope it's not red. KYEC is probably the safer approach (as long as they don't attack on red) but Flame Jet still does far more damage if you can get it going so it's a judgment call.
