Not sure if this helps but I'm running an undercovered Torch (~ lvl 80 pre buffed), Spidey ~100 and OBW ~94

Spidey's defense tiles make life a lot easier plus he can stun and Torch's green does ~1400 a turn as long as you keep making green matches. Prioritize Purple, then Green. I've only had one bad match and that's b/c of cascades

Thanks! I can finally play more than one or two matches in here. Ridiculous! These level 80 guys slaugher my 150+ guys.

I dunno how I feel about this event. The only characters that I hadn't levelled are icon_humantorch.pngicon_gamora.pngicon_blade.png & I am struggling against icon_juggernaut.pngicon_ares.pngicon_ragnarok.pngicon_daken.png as I barely scrape a win :/

    It's pretty annoying.

In case anyone was wondering, 2nd sub is 48 hours.

That's a big relief, at least. Hopefully we're seeing the beginning of the end of 60 hour subs.

Okay, the Smash and Grab node is officially a steaming pile of garbage. This is the third straight time I've been TPK'd by an insane cascade. Juggernaut does NOT need stupid luck of row after row of green dropping from the ceiling.

    These rounds feel terribly rigged.

Why am I losing rank in Oscorp:Heroic main? I'm ranked #252 now, despite the fact that I'm #52 in the sub, Oscorp:Heroic, City.

In the main, there are only 4 events open, 3 red and played out, the 4th is green, and I've played it about a dozen times. How are people getting higher rank than I am? How can I be 252, with being #52 in what looks like the only open event, which is the sub? Are they playing that 4th one hundreds of times? What is happening?

i've been wondering the same thing! maybe since you can replay one of the levels in the main node and people with unplayable rosters are just grinding there?

    Main: 1000 players
    Sub: 200 players

    understand?

What I would like to know, why are Ares, Juggs, Daken colleting purpletile.png when there are redtile.pnggreentile.pngyellowtile.pngbluetile.png matches on board? Im not even talking about a match 4 either. Just a straight up match 3

I'm not sure. How can I only rank the top 25% if I've beaten everything available, and even grinded the last single match available? How do 250 others do better than I can do, if there's nothing left to beat?

I guess at least 250 others have done the same, and we are all really in the top spot?

I haven't touched Steve in this heroic at all actually. Torch and [3/5/5, suck it 5/3/5 people!] Blade have been carrying the team damage wise, and Spidey's protect tiles actually make a significant impact at preventing 1-2k match damage in these extended matches. Steve feels just really slow by comparison: KYCE / flame jets / inferno are all the sustained damage you need to win the fights, and Spidey's blue is significantly faster at making Rags use red instead of juggs for that one node.
I'm running the same team/basic strategy and I agree that it's working nicely even with my fully-covered but under-leveled Torch and Spidey. But our rosters aren't representative of 99% of the player base. I obviously don't have any proof of this but my gut says that many more people have well-covered/leveled Caps than Torches.

Right. Your original post just mentioned how Cap crashed the party and rendered Torch useless, when really the reverse happened and the heroic actually makes Torch rain down on Cap's parade for once. Suck it top tier chars like Cap! The B listers are comin to town.
You and I--and probably most people in this thread for that matter--are the one-percenters of MPQ. What I meant is there are people out there who have a level 132 4/5/2 Cap and a level 80 4/1/3 Torch. Maybe they would have finally shown Torch some love for this event but instead he's going to be benched again and they'll just use Cap like they always do.

ive noticed if you are one match for enough mana to fire a power they will often steal your match over making one to get mana for their own abilities. i guess its a thing, not sure but its happened often enough that i have noticed it too.

Can anyone who has started sub two tell me if Rocket Man in the main stays playable after the end of the first sub? Won't grind it if I can keep playing it.

    Thanks

Rocketman is still playable into sub 2. Just grabbed 200 points myself.

The page for the main event reset entirely for me after sub 1 finished. Now it's just got Investigating Osborn playable, and it doesn't have the yellow circle icon to indicate that I've already cleared it (although it does remember that I already got the 100-ISO reward).

Try restarting the app and/or your device. That happens from time to time...

Passive colors have the same weight as active colors for the AI. Daken has a purple passive. There's also a small chance they'll take the color they don't need just because.

I considered that, but Juggs green does greater match damage than Daken on purple. Ive always understood the AI will prioritize any match 4, then which ever move does the most damage. But this didn't follow either. This was just a simple match 3 that didn't cascade, made seemingly only so I couldnt. It was actually the least damaging move the AI could've made

The AI only cares about getting a match 3 that isn't in one of the 'weak' colors. They don't, at least not in any measureable degree, care about the difference of matching their strongest color or third strongest color. The AI tends to play characters with multiple passives poorly for this reason. Back when Spiderman was common you'll see the AI make a lot of purple matches too which is generally the least harmful thing they can do too, and sure you can say purple triggers Spider-sense, but remember the AI doesn't know what any of its abilities does (if you need proof, just see anything that involves targetting a tile)!

I would advise you to head to tips and guides sections, as there is some very good PvE information there.

Here are the basics. There is a subevent that runs for a portion of the main event. There are nodes that can be played in the subevent. Some nodes are essential - requiring you to have a certain player. Some nodes are hidden - requiring you to beat another node first to access them. It sounds like there are nodes hidden behind essentials (Disclaimer: I have not started playing this tinykitty mess yet), which means if you don't have Torch, you are shut out of a lot of possible points.

Optimal play - let's say a node is worth 100 points. If you beat it and go back into it, it will now be worth 80 points and there will be a timer stating points will be full in 2hr 24min. Each time you beat a node, it will lose 20% of its value and add 2hr 24min to the timer. So if you play a node 5 straight times, it will be worth 1 point and the timer will be at 12hours. You would receive 100%+80%+60%+40%+20% = 300% of the initial value. If instead, you play the node once every 2hr 24min, you would receive 100%+100%+100%+100%+100% = 500% of the initial value. Both methods will leave the node at full points at the 12 hour mark, but by playing every 2hr 24min, you would score many more points.

As for how you could clear everything and be 252nd...
Others may have been more efficient in clearing. Others may have started earlier (don't know when you joined) Others may have cleared more nodes (do you have Torch)

Hope that helps, as I said, lots of good info on this game in tips and guides section for new players and always feel free to ask questions.

If I understand rowdster's question right, it's not that there are 200 people in the main bracket who are playing the one remaining node in the main event more than you are. It's that there are 200 people who are in your main bracket who are not in your sub-bracket who have a higher score than you do. There are 1,000 players in your main bracket and only 200 in your sub-bracket. This means that only 20% of the people in your main bracket are also in your sub-bracket. The other 80% are in one of four other sub-brackets that all feed into your main bracket. If you're ranked 52 in your sub and 252 in your main then there are 200 people spread across the other four sub-brackets with a higher score than you.

Assuming a normal distribution of player scores among sub-brackets you'd expect your main bracket ranking to be 5x higher than your sub-bracket ranking. 52 x 5 = 260. Looks about right to me.
  • And remember not all subs are equal. I took mine by a country mile - over 5K points. But 7 people scored more than me in the sub that started before mine - only two subs currently running in my time slice. So only finished 8th in the main. I am going to take this one easy not going to grind all over the end and plan to just play the last 3 refreshes again. I sure I not hold top ten doing this but top 50 will be a walk in the park.
