This is a good jump off point for me (not due to Rags)

  • I paused for a bit and came back to . . . this. Rag's nerf didn't do me in but, looking at the list of nerfs-to-come and the general direction of this game?

I think I'm done too. I haven't decided yet. I'm going to check in for a bit but, it feels like the trill is gone.

I've never seen you post anything constructive Mr. Dummy, so I was not surprised in the least to see your cry baby post.

Ive found DumDumDugn to be one of the more gracious members of this forum and will miss him. Although the last few posts always show the hazard of a farewell thread it eventually turns into something less celebratory and more adversarial.

Yeah, DDD is probably the single most helpful person on the boards
  • I've been whiny as others a bit already...and I'm sorry for adding to that fire. Let's not further this shitstorm and try to be helpful.
  • Good luck in future games!
  • You state in your title that you're not leaving because of nerfed Rags and then in your post you complain about nerfed Rags.

If Rags wasn't nerfed and you could continue to abuse his op abilities, you'd still be playing. Which means you left because of nerfed Rags.

I am in the same boat. I will lurk until the changes to the listed heroes come out. If the changes are what is expected I will be done as well as the game will be to slow for me.

Yeah I'll miss DDD. I think the last few nerfs made a lot of people bitter over the game, but it's been a fun ride. While I'll keep playing I hope new players realize some players have been here since day one and it's sad to see a favorite character tossed aside. Not for a better option, but for balance issues. I think there is still potential for this game to get even better. I don't get to play many games since becoming a Dad and playing a phone game here and there is about my only option. But by and large it's a great community and DDD has helped people since the begining. Good luck man!

Rags was the tip of the iceberg. Look at the upcoming changes post. All the fast characters are getting nerfed. I dont want to be around for that shtstorm.
  • I can understand people being upset about the direction the developers want to take the game (the use of more health packs and a slower pace), and the frustration with the recent nerf is expected. I myself just pulled my first red rags last week and will be pulling the green rags in a few days from the daily rewards. I had convinced myself to actually pay to max his red ability once I had both the cards. Why would I pay such a high price (1250hp x 4)? Because rags was not just overpowered, he was broken.

Many games nerf characters/cards/weapons/what-have-yous. Typically I play FPS such as COD or BF. It never fails that a few months after a new title release 70% of the gamers are running around using the same gun/perk. The developers inevitably recognize this and nerf whatever needs to be nerfed. Guess what... Two months later 70% of the gamers are running around with the same gun/perk again. It is the never ending cycle of online play.

If you payed for a high level rags/mags/spider man, I empathizes with you. Just look back on all the rewards you were able to win with them (I'm sure that's how you earned many of the 3*). Rather than throwing in the towel why not look for the next exploit?

Everyone agrees rag was broken. Now he is just broken in a different way.

Main reason all those people are leaving is because to progress in the game you pick your characters and get ones that complement one another. Now rags was an easy choice and people level up others accordingly and then it takes a long time to boost that team and max their stats. Changing up the game will happen. (Are we still playing a Beta?) but for people that leveled up a rag/mag/spidey team their sandcastle is getting kicked over and they have to start all over. I'm still gonna play and I'm up for the challenge to form a new team but I completely understand people being frustrated and seeing the writing on the wall of changes to come.

As I may not be as far advanced as these players I understand as well. My current team in a maxed out thor/wolverine/OBW, two of these characters have been announced to be nerfed. My spidey was on his way to the top as a 2/2/4, but will sadly not make it before he is nerfed as well. I can understand why people are quitting however, I find it interesting that this nerf was a surprise and the reason for it.
  • I figure it's worth me pointing out that other characters are likely to not get nerfed quite as hard as Rags was. Rags was leaps and bounds ahead of everything else in the game - between a spammable, solid chunk of damage at a low cost (it's actually completely unbalanced that it did moderate to decent damage at such a low value, plus flood the board with green. Magneto is the opposite - moderate damage, while taking away randomly from the board (Magneto's purple might need some nerfing though). Spiderman's stunning is a progressive thing - and on the defense, he's managed very poorly by the AI. Thor/Wolverine are fairly far ahead of fellow 2* heroes, but not by much - I suspect Wolverine might have his strike tile generation toned down (limit 2 or 3 per green, or costs 1 more per tile out, or something), and Thor's abilities might just be given "This ends the turn".

tl;dr I doubt any of the upcoming nerfs are going to be even remotely as heavy-handed as the Ragnarok nerf was.

Rags alone was not much better than spidey or mag; it was him paired with widow or storm or wolverine that made him stupid. Expect some big nerfs.
  • For the record, Even I think the rags nerf was waaaay overdone but damn DDD, Dragging out your goodbye over 3 days? Just gtfo already icon_lol.gif

I stopped playing (even uninstalled to get rid of those stupid notifications), but I check forums periodically for game updates to see if this is worth coming back to, and to answer the trolls i guess.
