This is a good jump off point for me (not due to Rags)

  • I think it's funny how everyone is throwing a fit over the fact they nerfed rag after they spent all their hard earned dollars on him. The reason they nerfed him is the exact reason that compelled everyone to spend $50 to buy all those covers to begin with, because you couldn't be competitive without him (though, I personally have been doing just fine without my Rag ever going above 1g/2r). That's the sign of a character that is a bad thing for your game. Thor/Wolverine/OBW/GSBW are all strong characters, but not to the point of where "If you don't have Thor, you don't get victories". That's how it was with Ragnarok, and this nerf was much needed. And you're all acting like Rag is unusable now, he's fine, he's just not ridiculously overpowered anymore.

Quit stroking yourself. "You couldn't be competitive without him (though I personally have been doing just fine"

Stop pretending you're a better player than the rest of us, at this easy **** game

You're completely missing the point and sound like a **** moron in the process.
  • For MVC1.....War Machine, Strider, lilith
    For MVC2....Magneto, Sentinel, Shuma Gorath!
    For MVC3....wesker.....zero....dante?
  • MVC2 was pretty trashy imho. The Assists system completely broke the game.

I preferred the old ones like Xmen Vs SF, which were good, minus the infinite combos.

Guess who my favorite char is. icon_e_biggrin.gif

    MVC1: Strider/whoever
    MVC2: Cable/Blackheart/Sentinel
    MVC3: Hulk/Haggar/Sentinel
  • Ever comboed mag into iceman? ohman...that's one of my favorites.

This time, yeah, you are just coming off as an idiot, Dugn's right. My apologies to Psykopathic, you apparently weren't entirely just reading into it lol.

85 thor's red does more damage and generates more tiles for the same amount of AP compared to 115 Rags

How is Rags fine if Thor isn't OP? Don't be such a Thundertinykitty.

No, I'm not referencing cartoon characters. +1 at Psyko; he must have smelled something.

Godspeed DDD (and others). I've jumped off the ship as well for many of the reasons already mentioned by others. The direction this game is going just isn't to my liking. I'm burnt out on it anyway and these last few destructions of characters make it seem like the best time to jump. It's all going towards the cash grab route for health packs, shields, slowing the pace down to tar pit ISO farming... Not to mention the buggies that keeps appearing.

My kids threw money at this game and are asking me why I'm not playing today. I suspect they will follow suit. Such a shame because the game was fun.

I think I'm going to fire up the original puzzle quest and start a new character from scratch

The original, and the best - have fun. Sad to see so many good guys driven away by these awful changes.
  • As usual, DumDum says it best. This isn't about losing one character. This is about the whole game moving to slow matches that require a health pack between each battle.

Instead of implementing these changes slowly, they decided to dump them all out to start 2014:
Completely eliminating Ragnarok as a viable character.
Announcing forthcoming nerfs for Magneto, Wolverine, Spidey, Thor, etc. The trend here is eliminating any powers that allow your team to avoid losing too much health in a battle, either by stunning or healing or by dealing damage quickly.
Introducing a replacement set of heavy hitter characters (Hulk, Ares, Patch) who all share an interesting new characteristic. When they deal damage, they also damage your own team.
Running weekly events that feature buffed versions of the highest-health characters (IM40, Hulk). With nerfed damage dealers, it turns each battle in this event to a boring grind where you have to nick down all 15,000 health of the buffed character.

The net effect of these changes is to change the game from fun, fast-paced rounds with flashy superpowers to slow, slow matches where each team hits each other with a rock until someone falls over. At the end of the match, the screen displays "VICTORY" or "DEFEAT", but nobody really won because either way you're going to need to use health packs to get in shape for the next battle.

Like the vast majority of F2P developers, Demiurge began to feel that they were in a zero-sum game. When players were having too much fun, they felt they weren't making enough money. So they feel that they have to reduce the amount of fun, and charge money for players to get some of that fun back.

It makes you wonder if they could have done this better. Dota 2 has been an enormously successful F2P game, and enormously profitable. They balance the game for fun, and make money through cosmetics. No guarantee it would have worked, but this game seems like it could have had a very ripe market for cosmetics. Give each hero a boilerplate default costume, but let players buy packs that give badass alternate costumes they can wear and show off in P2P. Sell crazy sound effect packs with power sounds, background music, even heroes saying dumb stuff.

Oh well, I had fun while it lasted. My account is also transferable, if anybody wants to pay-to-win for a whole lot cheaper. icon_e_wink.gif
  • I get busy for 20 minutes and come back to everyone **gjx**\b at me. Then every1 realizing I was right and all without me having to point out more stupidity. Things should work out like this more often. Lmao!!

All in good fun. I'll still play while not paying until I find something better to occupy my down time.

    Dota2 and MVC2 talk mostly

plus this forum has a lot of good people (amongst the trolls like yourself) that I will miss interacting with. MAA's forums are atrocious compared to this.
  • DDD you got my message?

So... anyone up for some Dota2? I'm pretty terrible, but learning.
  • Farewell DDD.
I'll stay , but won't spend same amount time or any money on it.
And anyone playing battlefield 4 on Xbox one?

DumDumDugn, it's been good talking with you over the past few days in the recent threads. The first Puzzle Quest was also the most fun for me, I had much more fun playing PQ1 compared to Galactrix and PQ2 (and the music was also the best).

Yea, Galactrix was mediocre and PQ2 was really bad. This game was almost as good as PQ1.

I hated Galactrix with the heat of a thousand suns. I had to hack the game to remove the hacking. Hah!

As a huge fan of the original PQ (and a store manager for GameStop at the time, where I hand-sold a ton of copies), this is the first game in the series to evolve the original in an interesting and positive way. I'm not at all upset about the Ragnarok change itself, but I'm not happy with the way it happened, the lack of communication, etc.

I've been obsessively playing for months, but my enthusiasm/eagerness is waning really hard right now. I don't have much faith in the future direction.
  • Farewell then, Dugan. Was always a short burst of OMGWTF when I encountered your team in LRs. I completely agree with your prophecy concerning the general direction of this game.
And hey, your posts were mostly written with a kind of smirky attitude that I adore.
