    Can someone explain this?: I started the event half an hour in and after clearing all the nodes I was 12th. Played again exactly three hours later, still 12. Played again three hours later... 51st after clearing them all! How is it possible that I dropped 40 positions if there was literally no time for anyone to play more than I? And this happened right after they fixed the scaling, so I'm not sure if they introduced at the same time some weird rubberbanding and people who started playing after the fix actually managed to get more points than the previous leaders of the bracket. I cleared the nodes twice more (got me up to barely 26th) and I went to sleep. Woke up, cleared the nodes once and I am 36th. So apparently, for no reason whatsoever, I will now not even be able to dream of being top 10 in spite of having been playing regularly from the beginning. What gives?

    just stick to your cycle and you will pull ahead. the grinders get out to an early lead but can't sustain it. resist the urge to grind

    You probably experienced a group of people going to bed. If you do 2 or 3 clears in a row, it pushes your refresh time back several hours, and you only lose 20% on the second round and 40% on the third. Way better than letting all that time lapse without getting any points.

    This is what you have to do...I didn't realize it until someone mentioned it last PVE. Though you have to be careful because of scaling. Most of the nodes for me are already scaled almost equal...I'm going to push essentials and see how that works.

    Just FYI with the new 3 hour refresh timer decay is 25% each additional clear

    I think I'm in the 4th start time, so I'm only ~11 hours into the event. Even though I don't have Loki for the essential nodes, after three clears I'm somehow in the top 15. I was only hoping to get top 400 for the Captain America cover, but is there any conceivable chance a 1->2 transition guy without Loki could possibly be in the running for the new 4-star this event? I'm assuming there's some rubber-banding trick or something else (like the fact that there's 6.5 more days left) I'm completely missing, but are there just very weak groups out there that you can get extremely lucky in? Typically for PVE, I'm lucky to barely get the 3 standard recruit tokens, much less the 2-star or better ones. My ranking today seems really odd, to say the least.

    ...and playing Ares, Daken & Moonstone has been much more fun than I expected. I know they're not really a good team, but with decent-to-solid abilities in five colors and Moonstone's black not being totally wasted against maggia goons, they can really hold there own here. Maybe I'll think differently if the scaling keep ramping up, though or if I have been getting luckier boards than I realize.

    It's totally possible for one and two stars to win PVE. My only #1 placement was with a two star roster. Because it scales, we're all equal in PVE... Unless you leveled up bad characters first.

    The scaling in this is still jacked up. At least in my opinion.

    Just using the punisher section as an example, 1st node is 40 level cou, 2nd is 266 level.

    I don't understand it.

    Also the first go through was really fun as I was able to use all my lower level covers, I had a blast mixing together new teams and experimenting.

    Then the scaling kicked in and I have lost interest.

    Yup, it was super easy at first, but now it's just too hard even if there are 3 goons and no villain. It would be fine to find a middle ground. I don't see any reason into punishing players with death. I think it's enough of a punishment that not everyone in the bracket can go for T50, but not being able to do 1 clear safely even with 5 health packs is a bit of annoying.

    Got wiped twice during my last clear and lost all health packs. Thank god I have mnmags/cstorm/hawkeye for situations like this.

    Its always been like that for this event. May well be $%£^£&£" but its not changed since the first two runs. Wait until you see the final sub.....

    I think the first shard just started the second sub, so they should be able to tell you. I don't expect the essential character to change though.

    I managed to be the 998th person in my bracket last night, which was annoying, but not actually a problem for an event this long.

    I don't know if I have the stomach for a week of this. I guess I can take comfort in the fact that the last three days are a weekend plus a day I'm taking off, and the slightly longer refresh time is slightly better. I'd still like four hours though.

    Seeing levels close to 200 already (my highest leveled characters are at 160). On the plus side, though they're not the quickest combo, Doc Ock/Falcon/Daken are annihilating the goon nodes. It's nice to have 2500 of attack tile damage every turn. The trouble is clears are taking so long I don't really have time to do enough. The first sub barely matters, though, so as long as I'm semi-competitive for the first few subs, I should do fine surging at the end.

    Well seems like the first couple of hours of the first "time" bracket is broken... everything is low level again. nothing over lvl 40 for me... I'm guessing by the time the last time bracket kicks into the second sub, scaling will get a huge boost like the first sub-evebt, going from lvl 40 enemies to lvl 180 in one pass was a bit of a shock! I suspect the same thing will happen with this second sub and subsequent sub events all the way to the end...

    That's how it was with Iso-8. Then midway through the event they turned scaling off altogether.
