    All jokes aside, I'd be all for 4* characters being POWERED UP(please note I said powered up, not essential - I'm talking to you developers!). I mean, I'm sure we'll never see X-Force powered up ever, but it'd be cool to use Dino or Fury etc.

    Composition of those The Hood nodes was clearly designed BEFORE The Hood "nerf".

    Thought I'd try to be clever, roll over the previous tokens to this run, and see if there's better chance to draw 4Thor from tokens combined from 2 events.
    So they managed to circumvent that by dividing the tokens from both events. Oh well

    Is anyone else short points?
    1st clear 2500
    2nd clear 5000
    3rd clear 7500
    4th clear 9900?
    all nodes cleared upon reset, none cleared early

    How hard did you grind the last event?

    Last progression reward + all standard tokens. Think 10k over the max progression, I was actually trying to fall back in rankings since I wasn't going to hit 150 and didn't want the Cap (rather take 3 chances on standards than get one cover I don't want). I didn't even play Thanksgiving day.

    Blade/Laken/Patch is pretty damn fun, I have to say. Strike tiles for miles. Blade's AP steal usually taking from Blue (with Goon nodes) to feed Chemical Reaction. Fun.
  • God, this Hood tile is absolute ****. He one shots any character I have, and you can't deny his AP fast enough, even running Hood + OBW. Another cheap, lazy node meant to drain health packs.

    I am going to take this PVE really easy, I am really tired of the constant grind for new characters and the fact that this event is terrible, too many goons feeding the main char (I have lost count of how many times I have been wiped out but the hood being feed by 2 goons) 4* as an essential and a complete lack of buffed chars (I have sold my 2* cap and torch to make roster slots for Groot and Blade and do not have beast and (funnily enough) no 4hor)

    It is this type of event that is causing me to play less and less (coming up on day 365) coupled with the 166 / X-force wall you hit in PVP is really making me into a casual player (doing 1 round for the daily reward)

    I'll try to be a glass half-full guy for once: yes, it is **** that 4 star.png Thor is essential. BUT, do you remember back when Fury was first released as a reward for PVE events? He was given out as a top-10 reward and then was essential in the next PVE that ran (and had his own PVP). Not top 50 like 4 star.png Thor was, top 10! I don't recall if Fury was also a alliance reward in that PVE event, can any of the veterans clarify?
    Plus, this was after 3 full PVP seasons of him being awarded only to the top 100 alliances, not in the middle of the second season.

    So, to me it seems that D3:
    a) made 4 star.png Thor more widely available to non top-alliance players than Fury was.
    b) made her more widely available much sooner.

    Bottom line, it seems that D3 has taken some steps in the right direction.
    That being said, running the same event twice with no break and with the second iteration having a 24 hour cycle (effectively shafting European players) SUCKS!

    EDIT: Blargh, I was under the impression that the event would be 3 days long, every sub-event 1 day and they all would end on 6 AM CET. As a result, I would like to change my initial statement to "That being said, running the same event twice with no breaks sucks".

    How does the 24 hour cycle shaft us worse than the last PVE?
    Last PVE it was sub 1 and sub 3 ending at 6am, this time it looks like two subs will end at 6pm. Of course the stupid thing is that the 6pm on a workday doesn't help much wenn you need to start the grind at 4pm, which is within office hours for 85% of the workforce.

    I only hope they offer 10pm or midnight CET as an end time for PVE when they introduce slices, because if it's 6 pm it's only slightly better than the current 6am.

    This is the first time I've been locked out of essentials since the PVE that needed Fury. There was a difference with that one though - there were two essential nodes, one needed Fury and the other needed (if memory serves) Human Torch. So while it was rubbish to miss out on a big-scoring node, there was at least another essential open to people who hadn't managed to bag a 4*

    I had been kidding myself that something similar might operate here (and it still might to be fair) with the 3* Cap Marvel. Perhaps the second node will have Marvel as the essential, then return to Thoretta for the third node. Which would still be rubbish but would also reflect the 'finish top 150, get to play essentials' deal that we normally have in PVE

    Unless they get a lot of feedback that one of the slices is useless (i.e limited players), I would guess the PvE shift will be identical to the PvP shift. -15, -9, -6, 0, +3 compared to the current.

    5pm is infinitely worst than 5am. I can get up at 3:30 to 4:00 if needed and play the nodes I cannot take the final 90 minutes in the working day and play MPQ.

    of all the annoyances this game has the one I hate most is getting color starved.
    my first clear of the morning was a breeze, only used minor boosting, no health packs consumed
    my second clear is starting horribly, wasted lots of boosts, and consumed 3 health packs before I could clear the Hood essential. all while ONE match from being able to end the round but no, I get double threaten/machine gunned because blue or purple are not matchable
  • Welp, without 4*Thor I dunno if I can even make the 50k progression reward without major grinding. Was just able to do it in the previous PVE, but I'd gotten the required heroes in PVP half-way into the event, so that was different.

    I don't think 1 blade cover is worth that much trouble, even though he is a character I wanna use at some point...

    You can easily make all progression without essentials. Easily.
