Well then that makes it 100x worse.

I assumed they wouldn't be that short sighted.

So we have 1/5th the targets we usually do in PvP.

    That won't work.

Yup I got to hit someone 3 times in a row. That poor little 2* roster didn't have a chance. icon_e_sad.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif
I hope this comes off the season after this PVP.

They shouldn't be allowed to warp the season this badly just to test a half baked idea.
Remember that this is only a beta test, and they are asking for forum feedback. It's a complex problem and at least they are trying to deal with it. They are actually prioritizing user experience over revenue generation in this case, so cut them some slack.

First off, props for implementing this. I think the presentation in neat (sans the bounceback issue in the last option) and I was pleasantly surprised that the UI uses my local time instead some GMT+**** or the such.

Sadly, I am not getting points (Android, 4.1.3). From four rounds I've played, only one gave me points (not the latest). With my chosen ending time slowly approaching, I don't think I will be able to do much in this event. I don't care about GSBW, but my alliance score will suffer and no compensation reward will fix that. I cannot be angry because I know that this change is necessary and doubtless, very difficult to implement without bugs, but I still wish they had been quicker to address this issue, which was reported almost immediately after they asked for feedback.

I really don't understand why you would do this test on a Hulk event. Hulk events are terrible and low scoring in general. Nobody enjoys chewing through back to back lvl 248 Hulks with 17k HP. Not even Sentry-bombers. To make it worst the rewards are GSBW.

I'm pretty sure you're not going to get the type of feedback you were hoping to get from this event, because the effect of the endtime sharding is getting mixed up with the default lousiness of this event.
The same reason they'd test the MMR change on an event where everyone brings out their maxed sentry hoods and lakens

I just tried another match and am still not getting points for them. I got points for one match out of five. My in game name is the same as my name here, if that helps.

    *UPDATE: (11/20/14)

    Hello,

Thanks for all of your valuable feedback so far. A quick update on a few things.

Firstly, we believe we have fixed the issue some have reported with points not being awarded in the Hulk Event. Hopefully you have already seen an improvement. If not, you may want to try these steps:
      1) Force quit and relaunch the game. 2) Skip all the visible mission pins in the Smash Hit Event. 3) They'll be replaced with fights worth points again.

Secondly, some players have voiced concerns about the potential timing of PVE Event end times testing. We wanted to inform you that we will not be testing the Event end times feature during the Meet Rocket & Groot episode. The current plan is for PVE testing to occur in the episode following that in early December.

Please continue to provide us with your feedback (are the fixes working for you?) and any concerns you may have with the current Event end times feature. It's very helpful. Thank you!
  • While you're at it, please fix the scaling of Family Reunion VII, most of us can't even play it.

    What's the point ?

    Thank you

I'm getting the same thing, no points rewarded for matches won. Started playing and the first 3 matches I got my points like usual, up to 73 points. After that I played 3 matches I think and had nothing added to my score after returning to the tournament screen. Tried restarting the app (playing on iPhone) but the next match I played still netted me zero points. I hope I can score some points before the event ends, since I'm living in Europe and I was looking forward to being able to play the last few hours of a tournament without having to wake up especially for it.

Hmm strange, after fighting two seed teams, I got 50 points. Normally you get 25+22(maybe 23 can't remember), but somehow I got 27 points for beating the first seed team.

And it just happened again against the third seed team - it said 21 points available, then I actually got 23? :S

I just tried these fixes, and here's the results after my first 3 matches since doing so:
    1. Win - Pin shows 32 points, net result +41
    2. Win - Pin shows 27 points, net result +0
    3. Win - Pin shows 29 points, net result +40

I tried the fix (R65 on iOS 7.1.2) and it worked fine, points now seem to be adding as expected. What I find particularly frustrating is that it clearly wasn't affecting everyone as some people in the bracket were at 500-600 while i couldn't buy a point.
I suppose if we're lucky we might get a moonstone token to make up for it...

So devs, you said you were testing this time sharding on the HULK event. Now it looks like the GSBW event is the same tinykitty! Again, you said the HULK event. ****? With shielding, we don't need time sharding. PVP is not issue. If you want feedback, here it is: STOP THE TEST.

    Please?

No. You cannot attack people across 5 different shards. You are matched only with others who have also chosen the single Event Shard you selected.

The reason some have been reporting otherwise was due to a bug. The developers believe they have now fixed that bug and are looking at results and feedback.

    Thanks.

I really do not like this.

We need variable end times in PVE more than PVP.

Having this test mid season is not a good time to do it as many people have to climb high in order to maintain some sense of placement in their season brackets. That means, in ALL pvp's AND Simm each season. This potentially removes one pvp for some, not for others who wound up in a shard with other high climbing players.

Right now, I can't target anyone other than people in my own bracket. The top 4 or 5 are all shielded between 750 and 550. I was personally never a fan of hitting people within my bracket to begin with, now, there's no choice.

Thanks for the final clarification! Now that it's been confirmed. I think it's a horrible idea! lol having the whole player base split 5 ways is not good. It is just going to force the top alliances to all join the same shards so they can hop off of each other. If you want to pick a better end time for yourself you have to give up being able to hit high scores because you can't coordinate with anyone in your alliance. I love the idea of selecting end times but the attacks need to be opened up to everyone for this to ever work. The way it is now you are basically forced into whatever your alliance / the xmen choose.
  • CHOOSE YOUR PVP END TIME:

( ) MORNING, AFTER YOU AWAKE

( ) LUNCH, AFTER YOU EAT THE BREAKFAST

( ) SOMETIME OF MY DAY, AT COFFE BREAK

( ) DINNER AFTER YOU HAVE A NICE MEAL

    ( X ) X-MEN 45 POINT SHIELD HOP EVENT

The problem with this is it gives an advantage to those playing in later time slices, which isn't cool.

Not necessarily. Say for example the most of the crazy scorers join the first couple of shards. the final shards would be screwed because for the final 9ish hours (or whatever the split up is) there would be no 1600+ scores out there for them to hit. They would be stuck hitting themselves with nobody to really hop off of. it absolutely kills the super late joiners who join sub 8 hours in because they are down to 2/5ths of the playerbase and all of them are starting out just as low as they are. I would say if attacks were open for everyone the most beneficial slot would be one of the middle ones. You get all the top guys who join early to push high and you also don't get sniped as much from the lower end guys.

I'm in a late bracket, and #1 at the moment, but I can't queue up any big teams. It's really hard to find anyone above 800, which means I won't be getting an X-Force for sure. I understand why you can't attack across shards (for one, it would make retaliations impossible/unfair), but possibly the shares are too small? Maybe they need just three times, eight hours apart.

This would be the better solution, imo. If you open it up to cross time slice attacks, the ones who play in the later time shards get to attack those who have already had a chance to climb high with less of a chance of being attacked since the previous slices have completed. Now if you make it to where you can't attack people in finished time slices, then cross-slice attacks could possibly be viable. But just opening it up indiscriminately would give an obvious advantage to those who are in later slices since they have a much larger pool to attack than previous slices did.
