I NEED that X-Force black cover rewarded for 1-2. Would I have an easier time if I join the event super late (like 4 days in)?
Join with less than an hour left, depending if a bracket will close by then so that you get a fresh one. And grind the kitty out of the Hard nodes as fast as you can, Sentry bomb if you have to. Will miss Mystique prog but black XF beats any and all other covers.

Sigh it's going to be one of those days.
Last night i managed to clear all essentials and a few select nodes 2x before running out of healthpack.png
This morning, 20 mins into my day I've already burned all healthpack.png and all i have to show for it is one cleared node (sim 9 Hard)

    Hair under 39 hours.
  • Joining late is a good way to ensure you'll never win unless you happen to be the first 10 or so guys in the new bracket. In the last hour it's just a matter of quantity of base points completed and you're not going to touch someone who even has an hour of headstart compared to you, unless the bracket started in the last hour. The nodes also do not all unlock at start which means you got to do 10 nodes (5 of them can be quite difficult on Hard) that are worth relatively little points to get highest point nodes that you need compared to someone with even an hour of head start who would've already completed those and can just work backwards from highest point to lowest point.

    It's always luck vs work.
Except in PvE's case, work means 'not sleep for a week', in which case sane players should always opt for luck or forget about getting t2 because there's no lack of zombies grinding PvE every 2,5 hours.

There's always luck but the guy was asking what it'd take to get top 2, not top 150. The only way you could get top 2 by joining the last hour is if the bracket started the last hour (and you still have to outgrind everyone else). Joining last hour is always pretty risky but if your goal is only top 150 it's not an unreasonable risk, but going for top 2 in the last hour would require incredible luck.
  • Cool I'm running 55th in the easy and 17th in the hard and an 81st overall. Kudos to the guy who programmed the speak n spell for score keeping. HE needs a raise.

You are running 55th out of 200 and 17th out of 200. Average of 36th or top 18%.

You are running 81st out of 1000 or top 8%.

I think you owe the guy who programmed the speak n spell an apology
  • This PvE is going to be hard, with people fleeing from pvp as fast as they can
  • I don't see too much action in this PvE because The Hood is basically neutralized and without him every fight is much harder, but if you use The Hood it's not unusual to lose The Hood on every single hard node because he wants to be tanking 5 colors with 5000 HP against level 200+ guys. On my first clear through Hard I pretty much used every level 166 character I have.

Just started the Easy sim last night. My first thought was "Oh, I can't wait to play Hood-OBW-Deadpool in the Hard sim." Only saving grace is that OBW might sit on Recon to instead charge Whales.

Overall I like the team compositions thus far. Challenging but not super-impossible (yet). Usually by now I'm scaled off the hard sim, but was able to still finish most of them last night. Also in a twist, feel like the essentials are harder than the regular nodes, which is a change. Might be because I have a 1-cover Mystique, but had a devil of a time with the GSBW-Deadpool-Thor node.

    Easily my favorite 'competition' PvE.

Does anyone else feel like the progression rewards are too spread out?
Up to ~30k is not bad then they jump to 10k then 20k between rewards
  • I'm just not feeling this one too intensely. There limits to how much trouble I'm willing to go for a single Mystique cover. If the scaling was lower I'd be more interested, but this is going to be a bit of a slog.

Actually, I'm not feeling any part of this game too intensely right now. If every match is hard, the game loses a lot of its fun factor.

Yeah, that node has been giving me fits. I finally settled into LCap and Hood but still wipe about 30% of the time. I do have all 3 Mystique powers available though. Her purple and hood make it so none of those big abilities go off with Cap stuns when needed.
  • This pvp/pve going on right now is greatly helping me for being an almost month old player. Daken/Ares buffed clean up in PVP and PVE is easy. If only I had a Mystique to actually play the center nodes. Thankfully, I should have Mystique shortly once this PVP ends.

I have good news and bad news for you. You may get a Mystique after Friday PvP close, but starting 25 hours before that, Hulk will be required, followed by Hood for the last sub events. Hope that you already have each of those ready to go.
  • Right now the prospect of hitting 160K doesn't look too good if it's +33% points per round like past for most people (you'd need 40K before this round ends). Let's hope it's higher than the historical average (which has happened, but not often).

    I have to agree.
Right now I've only played through 6 of the nodes in Normal along with the Essentials and only two of the Essential nodes in Hard.
I am using health packs so quickly I am not willing to keep pushing through once several on my roster go down.

really? there's 8+ hours left and i'm already at 32k. and that's with being way off the pace and rubberbanding aggressively in the hard sub. some in my main are already over 60k. 40k looks like it is in the bag for this first round, probably more. if it's 33% point inflation, the only thing impeding the final progression award will be scaling, imo.
