  • I hope after the address the time zone issue, they'll address node refresh times. I have no problem with the people who put the most effort and time in winning, but it'd be nice if the required 2.5 intervals would not make people set up their whole life around the game.

And no, I don't think the gauntlet is the answer. I just think a sight tweak after the time zone issue here resolved would be fine. Even if it was just once every 12 or 8 hours, I could live a pretty full life like that.

They could just go back to the old system where the nodes refreshed every 12 hours so at least you'll be done for the next 12 hours after hitting your node whatever number of times you felt was comfortable. It's pretty obvious from looking at the sub scores to see who are the guy who didn't sleep. Honestly the only issue with the old system was that if you didn't keep good track of your time you might not know when your stacks refreshed or if it's one stack short since most people sure don't have the mission base value and the rubberbanding mechanism memorized so 80% versus 100% can easily look pretty close when you don't know the numbers for either. With a timer to 100% you'd be able to know when your stack is back at 100% and this gives you a 12 hour window instead of 2H 24M. Sure there's still going to be the guys trying to squeeze in 3 12 hour clears in a 26 hour period instead of 2 for an advantage, but it's no worse than 'you go to sleep and have been mathematically eliminated from top X'.

Could anyone in the unfull bracket keep us appraised on when it fills up? I had my fill of fighting 395 guys in the last PvE so would like to join at a pleasant time for this one

Community scaling is low in this event and personal scaling is nonexistent, mostly because all the nodes start out quite hard to begin with. I see about a 20-30 level increase at most on the hardest nodes from beginning to end, though even at the initial level they're still quite hard to beat.
  • im straight up beasting this event. hitting every refresh as hard as i can...

i hate pve, but blade blade looks halfway decent...and thw tacos decided that we are going to grind this thing to the ground.

best of luck to all. See u in the top 10!

  • Well, that was a run full of bad luck. Definitely should have retreated on that 3rd essential node in the savage land after the first two turns.

Turn #1 for me, unlucky drop gives AI a 4 match red. Turn #2, same thing happens, 4 match of red from the top gives the AI 5 more. Then it gets very very bad. Nearly party-wiped by the next turn. Thunderclap made enough green for 2 criticals plus a ton of other stuff, then Godlike Power dropped a 4 blue match plus enough purple through cascades to power up Gravity Warp, which gave the lucky blue match for Chemical Reaction. Oh, and then to add insult to injury, the team-up Lethal Recon stole all my AP, what little there was. A fully powered OBW and Thor almost wiped out by all that. Ouch.

Oh well, I guess that's enough playing for the next few hours. Not enough health packs to give it another attempt this refresh.

Oh, and that Bullseye II node is just ha-ha no. That track is off-limits. Bullseye boosted to high levels is just the worst. What's that, Bullseye? You want to match more purple tiles making it impossible for me to hurt anyone? OK, then. icon_e_sad.gif

The leader in Wolveroach's bracket (the aforementioned Accident-eLe) has done the smartest thing I think I've ever seen in MPQ. Or certainly in the top 5. Maybe top 10.

Anyway, he has 3 black MM covers but has recruited her a second time with one of them. Which means he can play the essential nodes without having to waste a health pack on her when she's squished.

OK, this might be a well-known tactic, but it's the first time I've ever come across it for essential nodes.
  • My alliance leader mischief maker came up with it. wasn't super relevan until dbl hunts but has been ocassionally useful with 6 nodes

    More tips!

I've been using Falcon + Lazy Daken + X-Force against goon nodes for the Inspiration & Redwing ownage. Against the Villan nodes, I try to bring Falcon + Lazy Daken + X-Force since the increased match damage helps, as well as removing Bulleye's tiles ( icon_rolleyes.gif ).

If Daken is on the enemy team, I use Deadpool for his Red redflag.png plus Whales purpleflag.png ( in that order if possible ) + X-Force + Hulk ( in the center/tanking position ). This team works really well if the enemy has a Moonstone, Bullseye, or Daken on their team since a Surgical Strike blackflag.png will usually allow me to Whales 'em immediately afterwards. The Surgical (even with just one cover) will also remove all of Bullseye's annoying Protect tiles, way better than Ms. Marvel's Red. After all those skills, I make a Green, Red or Black match to put Hulk in front to allow him to Anger the board if the villans hit him, which allows me to use X-Force's Green greenflag.png afterwards. Deadpool can also help out by jumping in front as needed (even Moonstone's skills hurt at Lvl 150s+) icon_e_confused.gif

With this team, usually only Hulk is the one munching health packs, X-Force has the Recovery option, and the whole team is on enhanced healing timers...

Anyone start recently and if so what's the status of your main bracket? Now seems like a good time to jump in but I don't want to get stuck with a bracket that's been open all night.
  • Cripes, the top 2 in my main bracket must not sleep. I went to bed in 1st about 500 up on the next guy, I wake up in 3rd and I'm over 5000 back?

I didn't place well in the last PVE so I didn't get a MM cover, but I lucked out and got one on the single daily deal, then another with my first progression token. Haven't put anything into her, and I'm playing the essentials almost exclusively with Patch 140 (345) and LCap 110 (454). Haven't paid for a health pack yet, and I'm playing the goon nodes with CStorm, MMag and MHawk.

Was thinking to myself that if I never saw another Bullseye again it would be too soon, then when I was kicking around Simulator to kill time between points reseting, I came across a node worth 45 points with a Bullseye. Oh the humanity!

Also, Moon_Roach, flapdoodle is my new favorite word.

vudu3: the bracket I joined last night was at 950+, and is now full. Sorry, that's the best I can offer. I have amazing timing on joining brackets; 940+ is my average.

I'm actually liking this event! I think the main reason is that both the progression reward and the rank reward are kinda worthless, so I really don't feel pressure to get either. In fact, facial-Storm's blue is the last cover I need for her so I'd be happy to skip Blade entirely. (I know he'll be required for the next event but I'm just disgusted with the pace of new characters right now so I don't feel obligated to get any of them.)

I also REALLY like the fact that this event was only like 3.5 or 4 days or so - much shorter than normal - and the idea that it will have 6 subs is also awesome, because that's just more rewards overall. Having a decent reward for the top 40% in each sub is also nice - especially when there's almost no difference between ranks 3 and 400. I also seem to be lucking into subs without many Cap. Marvel owners, which is helping me actually get in the top 40%.

Finally the low, LOW scaling is awesome. Which is good because I really don't have any featured characters other than the above-mentioned Storm and Cap. Marvel.

I'm pretty sure at one point the nodes on Florida were repeatable.
If I remember correctly (and maybe I don't) I think previously the entry node and two of the middle nodes (in other words, the three nodes that "unlock" a batch of other nodes" were non-repeatable, and EVERY other node was repeatable. Add that to the fact that this Hunt is short whereas in previous hunts we ran all the subs 3-4 times, and this Hunt is MUCH tamer than previous ones

It's almost (but not quite) tolerable this time around

Can you let us know when the bracket fills? Anyone who joins now has a zero chance if catching up.

I've noticed that movement in my main bracket is pretty stagnant, but subs are still a bit fluid. Is anyone else experiencing this?

It wouldn't matter if you're in the 3* range because Captain Marvel should rarely tank anything if at all even with the level boost so the only way she gets downed is if your whole team gets wiped out which is going to set you very far back already, but it'd definitely help if you're in the 2* range.

Even in the 3* range it might be useful if the two 3*s you put out don't tank one or more of her colors. I've run some essentials with Cap+IM40. On occasion I am forced to make a black match.

Also, in a non-Heroic event, a 3* Roster has multiple viable teams, so if one of them is wiped, you could just send someone else along with the spare Marvel.

I'm doing a similar thing, but with only a single slot. If I lose, I sell off that one and replace her with a new one. I've got two Ms. Marvel's in the wings waiting for their chance to step in. I did the same thing when Baby Torch was the required.

Though if I had the HP for extra slots, I would have 3 Ms. Marvels to rotate, but that's the plight of not having enough HP.

Anyone else just Sentry-bombing most nodes? It's just not worth it to try different combos that MIGHT work on a lot of these.

    My "Ares" is lvl176.

Lol... And people wonder why community scaling is so bad this event.
