Not gonna lie, I used the icon_captainamerica.png + icon_ironman.png + icon_hood.png team & failed first attempt, second attempt I equipped boosts which turned a nightmare node to a stroll in the park. All that stress for a standard recruit token icon_rolleyes.gif
  • Are the node refreshes for this event predictable in any way? It seems like some days I check first thing and there's a bunch of new nodes, others not so much.

I'd like to know when it's the best time to drain the essentials down to 1, rather than missing out on all that point goodness. I guess that's probably why they changed up the format for later PvEs.

Yeah, it's very weird when the nodes change. I think they were changing at midnight EST and now they are at noon EST.

This is another one of those events where people with the required character have 150% of the progression maximum already (with 2 days to go). No idea how anyone without Cap is doing, but I bet not nearly as good - those non-essential nodes are a pittance compared to the essential ones. Or they are so hard they are impossible so you can't play them, anyway.

At least in my (early) bracket, 60k is probably going to be required just to get Cap. Marvel. Bleh.

My bracket is up to 905. Should be full in a couple more hours.

Someone I know with an otherwise weak/new and not quite transitioning roster is able to slog it through just by doing mostly Essentials because they got Steve Rogers at least to a 1/1/1 build. I have a single cover and a useless one at that so even the Essentials are difficult for me. Added to the fact that the top have already hit 70+k points, ergh.

Given the Anniversary PvP LRs were total **** for me, I should have just slogged it through the PvE some more to place higher to snag the extra cover.

Oh well, hindsight and all that.

I guess I'll do a drain in a couple of hours then.

Incidentally, top in my (also early) bracket is already 71k. From the early comments in this thread, I didn't think it would be as competitive as it is. Oh well, I'm enjoying running with LCap (boosted to 217)/CStorm/OBW, so I don't mind the grind that much. I figure top 50 is good enough, as those 2* covers are going to be falling like rain in PvP soon, and top 20 is still possible with a little bit of effort. Plus, those Maggia goons really do need to take a shield to the face every once in a while. I hate those guys.
  • Top in my bracket is 72k. Some of the nodes are already unplayable for me and there's still 1.5 days to go.

Does personal scaling affect the nodes too? Or is it just community scaling? Like the ones I can hit, do they go up based on both personal and community scaling?

There's still the best part of two days left of this event. TWO DAYS

I feel like I've been playing this PVE for approximately eight lifetimes at this point

Yeah, this really is quite painful.

I joined a lot earlier than I intended to which hasn't helped if you are trying to stay in the top however many.

I wish these things were not SO dependent on you HAVING to play for the last few hours to make sure you get decent covers.

Yeah, I'm going to be relying on my two small kids to be up before six in order for a last blast through a couple of nodes to keep a spot in the top 150 icon_lol.gif Absolutely farcical way to do things really.

I know I should learn to delay entering these things but I just can't help myself, I see it blinking at me and just have to enter

74k is my top person in bracket at the moment. There is actually a fierce competition for the top 10 going on, which is nice re: rubberbanding but bad re: scaling. Top 20 is impossible for most - remember that's the top 2%. 98% won't make it. I'm shooting for top 200, and even this makes me feel like I have to work, work, work.

I realized this morning that I would probably buy a PvE "shield" of sorts if it could protect your rank from falling somehow. But then I realized that this was basically the same as saying I would pay to NOT play this game. That doesn't seem like a good gaming model.

I thought there would be subs in this one so I entered about an hour after it appeared. Though I missed most of the weekend, I've been able to climb up into the top 50 with rubberbanding.
Now just trying to stay in the top 20 is a battle as I try to hit the nodes once they refresh skipping the ones that are unplayable.
  • All I want is to get top 150 for the single cover needed for next PVE's essentials. Not gonna bother trying to develop a 2* at this point - I never even bothered to max mnMags, and my fully covered babyTorch is only at level 17.

75k is what the top person in my bracket has now. I've been scaled out of one node and another I'm just plain avoiding. I'd like to stay in the top 20 but my inefficient play style doesn't lend itself to finishing very strong.

This is now a long tedious grind with another day to look forward to until this event finally ends.
  • I joined on Monday and the top of my bracket is already at 68K (love the rubberbanding). The good news is there are only about 40 people that kept playing past the 40K progression, so doing the 2 essentials every 3 hours is enough to stay in the top 20, which suits my lazy PvE mentality very nicely.

So jealous of your lazy bracket. I was nervous after the last two PvEs where I juuuust missed the progression reward, and then juuuust made the reward, so I jumped in way too early. If I'd have known I would have waited at least two days.

After over 28 hours my bracket is finally full. When I joined it was already 25% full so I don't know how long it was open but it was probably close to 36 hours.

Five minutes of new, probably last set of nodes. 8 from 10 are Deadly even from beginning. Seriously D3?
