Whoa, we hit another 24 hr mark and the nodes didn't change! How strange. Do they just not change 1/2way through? I wondered how they would handle the 24 hr cycle in an event that lasted 6.5 days.

My guess is this is the switchover from noon (eastern) end times to midnight. Just a guess though.
  • I just did the Yelena + 2 Muscles node and I'm already glad I updated to R63 icon_e_smile.gif

The Iso 8 heist mission is now bordering on impossible, just infuriating that matching purple + green benefits them, which unsurprisingly the board is predominantly filled with.
I don't think I've bothered touching that node after my "Heist in Spain" debacle.
Just hitting the essential nodes along with a few of the other nodes to attempt my slow climb to top 100.

The reason I'm going back to it is for the 1,000 iso8.png, otherwise I'll avoid that node & just grind the essentials. Just feel it's a waste in not obtaining that reward.
I did the same for "Heist in Spain" and didn't get close. I may give this node a shot with my team of LCap, cStorm & OBW.

    That was a bad idea.
Wiped though I boosted +1 AP All Colors & 20% match damage.
Only managed to down Bullseye while the pistol & Chemical Reactions did me in.

I think interest in this PVE may have fallen off a cliff in my bracket. As I have no patience, I joined pretty early on (within the first hour) as I'm a bit of a grinder, but had a busy Saturday as was at a wedding so missed an absolute stack of refreshes. Probably 18 hours plus with no nodes completed, was sat in the 400 odd in the bracket.

Since then, just doing the essentials and the odd easy-ish node (and still missing them when I was sleeping) and I'm up to star.pngstar.pngstar.png top 60 odd. was only planning to ensure I got the Cap, and then see about hanging on for the Ms Marvel but feeling pretty confident now
My bracket has definitely slowed as people are reaching star.pngstar.pngstar.pngicon_captainamerica.png
I have seen the opposite effect. Since the latest shift in nodes (where the 2x Muscle node finally rotated off) I've seen people VAULTING up after hitting the required 40k. I think the top 150 in my bracket all have 40k and are still climbing - rapidly. I'm not sure if everyone is just fighting for the new character or what but it makes it feel like this is going to be a very long two and a half days...
  • I do like this event in that I do not have to do many nodes. I have been doing all the hard nodes once in a while to try and get the 1K iso8.png but anything before the last push is just wasted effort points wise. In a couple of days time I will start taking this event a bit more seriously and get pull myself up the leader board.

I joined 1.5 hours ago and my bracket had 255 people in it. Now it's up to 289. I have a feeling this is going to take a while so if anyone's planning to join today you might as we'll jump in because there's no sense in waiting.

I'll post again when it fills.

Thank you, squirrel! I didn't realize and see that you are so right.

I have a long way to go before I'm actually at the transition. I have a long way to go before I have a truly solid 2* roster. I have a handful of heroes I depend on and it does make playing difficult. I was doing exactly what you warned against, caressing my shiny new 3* and saving ISO for them (for the next rare cover) and not pumping up a broader spectrum of 2*s. I socked away a fair amount of ISO (for me anyway) during the Anniversary celebration - thank you, D3P! - and wasn't sure what to do. Do I hoard for 3*s or do I spend it on MN Mags who I have covers for but sits at a lowly, unloved level? Do I max out CStorm or save it for the off chance I get another LThor cover? Etc.

I can see that need to walk before I run, and be willing to walk a loooong way. icon_e_smile.gif It's ok, even though it's a grind sometimes and can be frustrating. This is really only the second game of any sort I've ever played and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I'm a total newb. So, I really appreciate the thoughtful advice. This forum is godsend.

Thanks again and thanks to all who have helped newbs like me. icon_e_smile.gif

You should definitely focus on your 2* roster before you move on to your 3*s. Only sink Iso into the 3*s when you have a lot of covers - and not just a lot of covers but the right covers. LThor, for instance, if you have 5 red covers (which I do, for instance,) that's not so hot. You want yellow and green. Northern Polarity's guide is a good rule of thumb, but I'd add the caveat that if you level a 3* past your 2*s, you'll get harder scaling in PVE - so if you like PVE you may want to wait until you have more than one in that area, then bring them all up to a good break point.

I spent 2-3 months using my 2*s, then started adding some 3*s into the mix. Before the latter, I had a maxed 2* Thor, Ares, OBW, CStorm, CMags, AWolverine, and eventually 2* Cap (he's boosted a lot.) I don't regret maxing a single one of them - they were all useful at one point or another.

Anyone got any tactics for Iso 8 hoarders node? Yelena is becoming a nuisance.

Echoing GrimSkald. I have a level 94 LCap who I could take up to the mid-150s thanks to the infusion of covers I just got from this last pair of PvEs, but even though he's a really good character it would still hurt me more than it helps me, because he's not going to win PvPs by himself and he'd make future PvE events much harder just by existing.

(Also, my tactic for Hoarders is to skip it. When I woke up at 6 Eastern it was already scaled to the low 200s, which deserves the tiniest of kitties.)

Depends entirely on your roster. I've been using Cap, X-Force and Hood exclusively this PVP and they're been plowing through everything. For ISO-8 Hoarders I take out Venom first just to make sure I don't get a Devour to the face. Yelena's relatively easy to dispatch after that and I save the Don for last because only Trap is dangerous and the CD tile is so ridiculously long it's easy to deal with.

I run one of two teams. Cap+Hood+IM40 or Cap+Thor+OBW.

The first team is pretty good on most nodes, but the second team works better when facing Venom because OBW can steal his purple, and then steal again.
  • If you have a decent Captain none of these nodes are hard until they get past level 300, and if they're higher than that... good luck.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. The last thing I need is to make this harder on myself. It's hard enough! I will focus on my 2*s then. I'm not that far from having a good complement of maxed 2*s, but a looooong way from having viable 3*s.

Appreciate the advice very much. Thank you, and thank you, too, CrookedKnight. Good advice.
  • Patch + Cap + Hood have been getting the job done for me, though I often have to use healthpacks on Cap, and occasionally Hood if the enemy attacks with something big after I match black.

Once Cap gets started, it's all over, especially if Hood has enough black. Patch's BR just makes it that much faster and gives the flexibility of causing small but damaging cascades with countdown tiles for times when damage is needed NOW instead of later.

I think this is the first time that OBW and CStorm have been powered up in a PVE and I haven't been relying on them. Maxing Cap with the anniversary ISO was so worth it icon_e_smile.gif

It's been 12 hours since I joined and the bracket still only has 610 players. It's not filling up today. I'll report back tomorrow.
  • Anyone have any idea if nodes reset tonight or tomorrow at noon EST?
  • Hmm, ISO-8 Hoarders at level 317/318. Finished it quickly with Cap+Hood+1Y IM40. Max Cap was down to 4k health due to match damage!

Thank you! Used this exact team to take the node down as well! Had to throw the Hood in front of a Devour when I couldn't stun Venom in time, but a win is a win. icon_lol.gif
