Well actually, my point there was that I'd been playing scrub teams often for as long as I'd been playing tourneys (like everyone does). The big difference in this case, I think, was that no one was beating me last week - because many fewer people played at all.

I'd never really worried about MMR until now. Maybe it's time I started gaming this mechanic until it's tweaked.

Was tempted to attack Nemek's team but then that'd require actually studying the board to pull off an infinite combo, though I lost 3 games that all have a similar form of Thor getting 3 Thunder Strikes off before I have enough for Take Aim, which I didn't even think was possible.

Somebody actually attacked me with a low-ish level team - in the 30s or so. It took them 3 tries, but I was still impressed... (They also might have had a better team that died and finished me off with the low one.)

Haha this matchmatching and scoring system is horsesh1t.

One guy in my bracket sat at 682 the entire last hour. Not one person in any bracket managed to fight him.

Meanwhile, every fight I entered, I walked out knocked down about 60-80 points. Every time. Such garbage.

For sure. But this is insane. I just got my rewards. TOP 50. I was, and I kid you not, #2 with less than 5 minutes left in the tournament. And I dropped to freaking Top 50?!

The scoring system is entirely broken. There was simply no way for me to keep up with all the retaliations hitting me for 30-40 a piece.

Got chopped to pieces but crawled back furiously using a new 69 Ragnarok (4/3) to a Top 20 finish.

Got 125 HP due to the superflues IM40 cover. 540 HP in the balance. Gonna get that 5th Thunderclap next week at this ace. Iso is a more pressing concern now.

As I mentioned before, this tournament was very tough for me, so I walked out of this second round with just 2 Standard Recruit Tokens.
First one pulled a Yelena Purple- not looking good so far
And then the second one pulled an IM40
I was so astonished, I didn't even see what color it was, but now I know it's red.
So, I have a question: in the No-Holds tournament, I could go for 3 Magneto covers, or I could get 2 IM40 (blue and yellow.) Which would you guys suggest?

Hopefully once they get the retaliation system fixed, and then the progression system in tourneys revamped they devote a lot of time to the match making.

Believe I was trading with you . Every time i beat someone and came out i see at least a -50 though. Ended up going into my last battle at 3rd, coming out top 20.

In that case I'd give the nod to IM (with I suppose Mags as a fall back because ya know, tourneys are broken).

I don't think mnMags has ever been any kind of reward in a tourney before so he will probably be one in the next 3 as well or... never again. Seems like people have a hard time coming by him.

Winning a battle and seeing less points than when you went in sure is fun right guys? Apparently finished top 20, might've preferred going down a tier actually. Not sure what a single IM cover is going to do for me.

It's a little sad imo that despite a lvl 100+ 4/3/4 magneto, a 93 5/4 doom, a 75+ 2/4/4 spidey, and a number of completed or near completed 3*** with about 17k ISO to use.(not a lot but it could be a few lvls on spidey or a handful on magneto)....my go to team come tournament crunch time still ends up being thor/wolverine/x lol. I'd have built up punisher as a nice rainbow team of magneto, spidey, punisher before his abilities changed/learned the wording was off. It's just too hard to bring myself to take out anybody who synergizes as well with thor as wolverine does..and the 3rd is usually mandatory.

Got top 4 to get the last yellow I needed (but..not sure I wanted..lol) for IM. Decided with about 50 min left that I would try for first as opposed to my original stance of "idgaf." Got close, then beaten down a bunch in the last 10 min. The top guy in my bracket stayed at about 680 for an hour+ . So either there is some sort of way to avoid detection, his MMR was very odd, or his team was intense and nobody wanted to fight him.

@ jozier. Really? You were in my bracket..I def saw you top 4 with 5+ min left. Were you just attacking anything you saw? Or did your team kinda suck? Also..did you play mostly with which widow? I swear I personally lost at min 300 pts in the last 10 min. I was just using boosts to het wins at a pace of about 1 win every 90-120 sec. Including enemy select time (I am.usually quite picky who I fight..trying to het ppl I think are not playing or ppl with super weak teams or worth a ton)

Oh man that was brutal. I was attacked so many times at the end, it seemed like everybody had lined me up lol. Fortunately still landed top 4.
The annoying thing is that the leader of my bracked was not hit once in the final hour. He didn't even gain points, just stood there, probably he was not even playing. Even if he had the most badass team ever, what's the probability of that happening???
I came so close so many times, even had the lead at one point, only to be knocked down again and again and again. Whatever... no bag lady for me, still got IM40 covers.
