Deadpool, Cap. Marvel, She-Hulk, Beast, Colossus - WHEN?

At this point the silence is more disappointing than the problem itself. Although She-Hulk is now a possible pull in event tokens, she and the latest three 3* characters remain unavailable in standard and heroic token pulls AND NOBODY WILL SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

Now we're adding another 3* with no word at all on how or when the existing 3*s will enter the standard and heroic token pool. We've heard from plenty of forumers making excuses on D3/Demiurge's behalf, but it is far past time that we hear something from people who actually know what they are talking about.

Many of us will be picking up the season 6 10-pack progression award during this PVP and quite a few of us have four or five stockpiled from season 4 and 5. They are worthless without a chance for characters we actually need. Enough feedback from the apologists.

Devs, when can we pull the new characters from the token pool?

    Agreed.

This is not a problem that's difficult to solve. At the very least, make them available immediately after the initial PvE even it means LOWERING our chances of getting a 3*+ character overall. When it comes down to it we are talking decimal percentages here. It's not a big deal. It's more FUN to know the characters are available than to be mentally discouraged by the fact that it could be MONTHS until we can even have a chance to find them.

Edit: When I say at the very least I mean it. There have been plenty of great suggestions on how to re-work token spending.
Among them was a great idea to isolate characters based on their AP colours.
  • I am going to guess its a result of their indecision on how to increase 3* odds without going to a full vault system they mentioned. They probably haven't figured it out. But I agree, no reason why those characters are not added to the pool at least even though the odds of being struck by lightening are better than a needed 3* pull.
  • I know we'd like to, but let's not forget that icon_beast.png is missing as well.

Also, icon_shehulk.png has been out so long that many of us, myself included, have fully covered her just from rewards and she is still not in tokens. That is embarrassing.

I genuinely forgot him. Lemme see if I can still edit the title.
  • At least a concrete update on the issue would be nice, a time table would be nicer, reducing the odds of 2* and adding the 3*'s would be nicest.

Just split the darn tokens in half already.
Give out the first 30 chars in the 300 PVP token, the other 30 in the 900 token.
This way new players get a char they probably won't have fully covered and vets who go to 900 get at least a chance at the new chars.
Make both tokens buy able, give them out as daily rewards alternating the packs, and give them out as sub rewards too.
Villain LRs one toke, heroes the other.
    Done.

Maybe this way you'll even make LRs interesting again.

When we have too many chars, split the tokens again.

This'll last you long enough to come up with a final solution.

Yeah, I'm not touching that comment with a 10 foot pole.
  • Right now, 3*s are at about a 14% chance in heroics, about .7% each. Adding five more at the same rate would only raise it to about 17.5%. Not a huge difference. If they went ahead and did this as a stopgap, they could take their time figuring out a long-term solution, and by then add Doc Ock and Gambit and Squirrel Girl and Redwing and Ms. Lion to the packs using whatever long-term solution they've come up with.
  • Please please PLEASE fix this, D3. Having these characters not in standard pool rotation seems really embarrassing, and silence is way worse that "we haven't come up with a long term solution yet". So many solutions have been brought up in previous threads.

Instead, we get new splash screen artwork... Is this the best use of the time?

If we're being fair, the guy designing the splash screen art isn't likely the guy doing the token RNG work.

He's probably the guy that many posters are demanding that he look into the death cascades.

No I agree... I think it's just more about priorities to me. Like reworking the long list of unbalanced characters before releasing new, (unbalanced) characters.

I've also started hoarding Recruit and Heroic tokens in the hopes that we'll see the newer characters show up there soon. I've got so many deadweight 3*'s on my roster and pull way too many Gold Tokens for which I already have 5 covers.
  • So quick to lower featured odds from GUARANTEED! to 33% to 2.3% but so slow to raise 3* odds just a few percentage points. Sad.

Also, I want to point out that this hurts relatively new players as well as the long-time vets. Veterans have tokens that are for all intents and purposes worthless, because they don't need any of the covers that could pop out. For those of us who don't have anybody fully covered, the tokens are still helpful, but we're wasting precious roster spots on new characters who are going to be dead weights in combat for the foreseeable future, because the chance of getting one of their covers outside of featured events is exactly zero, and the chance of getting one of their covers in an event is still tiny. I did pretty well with Colossus covers in the PvE and PvP given my roster, so he's 3/1/1. He will remain 3/1/1, which is completely useless compared to any of my 2* characters, until the next Colossus event. Beast is going to be 2/0/1 forever. Etc. These characters are dead tinykittying weight on my roster, but I dare not cut them to free up a spot because they could be essentials going forward.

MPQ has been good to me lately, so I'll go ahead and post the optimistic comment of the thread.

Lately, the devs have been the most quiet around the issues that they are most actively working on. Particularly big changes, like Team-Ups and long awaited character changes. They gave us no hint to the X-Force and mHawkeye buffs until its imminent release, despite constant pestering from us. Maybe they will tell us something at comic-con.

I'm not saying that I understand their silence, but I think there may very well be some (good) reason that they aren't adding new tokens. I hope there's some sort of major Token rework soon to be released. One can at least hope, right?

greenflag.png There you go devs. The topic has officially gone green. It really is time to give an answer that is more than the normal, vague "working on it." That or put a temporary fix in (like lowering the 2* percentages) until you find a more elegant solution (whatever that may be).
  • They cant reply working on it if they havent bothered to work on it

I understand the topic and all vets who have their rosters full of maxed 3*.

But I couldn't care less for those characters mentioned in the title of the topic being added to tokens. This would further decrease the draw rate of those 'old' and 'lazy' 3 stars chars that I 'd like to get to be able to max my FIRST 3* character and SECOND 3* character and thus even pro-longing the everlasting 2* -> 3* transition and top PVE/PVP spots competitiveness. And having 30 roster slots occupied by extremely under-covered 3* just because they dropped from packs and they may be essential for some nodes is becoming annoying...

Rather than inclusion of new heroes to existing tokens and therefore decreasing rate I would welcome different possibilities on token usage, different packs (good pack, evil pack, all- women pack, all-men pack, all-new pack, all-old pack etc. - get inspired by Magic The Gathering or any other game involving 'packs and probability')
  • This tinykitty has gone on for long enough. Release our friends out into the wild!

WE. MUST. KEEP. THIS. THREAD. ALIVE.
  • They should add the released chars to all tokens as soon as they're released. As for the dilution of the percentages, they will need to work it out later.
