Blatant cheat - AKN

Sure 450 is 6 shields, but what about the boost costs? At 100 AP for 2 and a half rounds (using 2 AP alls a match), that's probably about another 100 a hop.0

Still think we cheat? 7 Xmen earned over 2k this pvp and 1 of those 7 PR hit 2.1k. Thats teamwork guys and a lot of coordonation. IT CAN BE DONE. Also big shout out to X-Men 2 for a 33k total score. Great jobs guys and what a way to start the season!!0

Flare808 wrote:On average? Usually 0 HP. This PvP- about 600 net HP. Yes, that's right, I spent more HP than I earned this PvP. You might ask why? As has been mentioned before by others, this is a hobby, and most hobbies cost money. I paid for the entertainment, thrill of shield hopping, and camaraderie of friends in X. Could have spent it on booze or other games, but chose MPQ (I know that isn't a popular choice, but oh well). It's not that SHIELD or 5DV cannot attain the same scores, they can. They might spend more or less HP than me, though I'd wager that to reach comparable scores, they'd spend a tad more.Even if they are as efficient, they did so with the help of their alliance, which is my point. I've been saying all along teamwork is more important than an HP bank. If you don't believe a member of X, look at all the 5DX members singing their praises for how their scores increased after joining 5DX. If you'd also like to PM reckless, dave, shamsali, dogfather, etc. I'm sure you'd find that they each spend HP every PvP as well.Let me know when a guy from a no name alliance can brute force their way up the scoreboard with just pure HP expenditure.P.S. And yes, I did say 0 HP average per event. I wasn't with X1 last season, but previously and have returned. There is 450 HP available each PvP. There's 6-3 hour shields in that, more than needed for a 1300+ score. I have to thank the higher scorers in X for that though.Hyperion-X wrote:Still think we cheat? 7 Xmen earned over 2k this pvp and 1 of those 7 PR hit 2.1k. gobstopper wrote:So you spend an average of 450 HP every event (net 0). This seems on the low side. Are you including boosts? Based on reckless' posts in the other thread, you complete 3 battles in < 4 minutes. This seems to suggest that you use the 100 HP rainbow boost for hopping often.
Not really. I did 4 in 6 minutes without rainbow. A little luck with the boards and its possible.0 -
I'll try to answer your question Gobstopper....
There's two answers really as there's two different types of players.
1) Someone who goes out early/sets pace for the PvP
2) Someone who starts in the middle or later half of the PvP but still pushes for a high score.
There's also the ultra late players but they're not spending much if any on shield hops.
So lets start with #1.
If you start a pvp ultra early you can't typically get to 1000 and shield unless you just keep pushing through and dealing with retals. Most early players are placing first shield at 800 and gathering up 3 nodes for each shield hop.
If you started early you unfortunately typically can only get 25-30 pts per hit at 3 hits per hop until say.... 1500 pts where you would start hitting just 1 or 2 at a time (Depending on the scoring in the pvp)
Shield at 800 - 75hp
Shield at 875 - 75hp
Shield at 950 - 75hp
Shield at 1025 - 75hp
Shield at 1100 - 75hp
Shield at 1175 - 75hp
Shield at 1250 - 75hp
Shield at 1325 - 150hp (Shield 8 hours)
Now... People have to sleep and the above shield hops would probably take a persons entire day at work or an entire weekend day so at this point the person would wake up to people in front of him/her and could then get more pts per hop. Maybe 100 per hop.
Shield at 1425 - 75hp
Shield at 1525 - 75hp
Shield at 1600 - 75hp
Shield at 1650 - 75hp
Shield at 1700 - 75hp
Shield at 1750 - 75hp
Shield at 1800 - 75hp.
So that's 1200 HP minimum. That's also assuming that you never get sniped (you will... Quite a bit) and you never lose (Which you will occasionally). That's not counting boosts and I'm being somewhat optimistic in my score estimates. I would say 1500hp is probably closer for someone who starts very early. I can't speak for anyone else but every match I do from my first shield on is a max boosted match. +3gb +3yr and +3 all (some do +2)
Now for the 2nd type of player... I'll take me for example today. Although I started yesterday and hopped nearly the entire day I woke up this morning with 750 or so points due to me passing out without shielding 8 hours. (Classic me...) I was able to get to about 1300 this morning. So theoretically I could have just stayed in the 700-800 range yesterday and started this morning.
From 1300 -1700 I hit two people at a time. Roughtly 30-40 pts per person or 60-80 per hop.
1300-1380 -- 1380-1460 -- 1460 - 1540 -- 1540 - 1600 etc etc etc. Again.. .It doesn't work that way perfectly. For instance today I was sniped 4 shield hops in a row (Which means a net loss in the shield hop) and 5 of 6 times. I was sniped 8 times just today which means that 8 of my shield hops either lost me points or gained me very little. When Drucifer went for his first 2k pvp score he spent several hours in the 1950-2000 point range as he was getting sniped every single time he went out. I'd have to keep a pvp log to figure out exactly what I spend on this pvp but I can tell you for sure in THIS PvP I spent 8k HP. Keep in mind that I basically did two pvps worth of work in one pvp. I played to about 1600 last night before waking up to 700ish this morning.
If I don't set the pace for a pvp and wait until later on or somewhere in the middle and draft off guys with bigger pts I can do it for 3-4k per hp I'd say. It's probably closer to 5k per pvp as I usually start in the first 24 hours and push hard then as well as on the last day.
I will say for absolute certainty though that I spend less here at Xmen than I would on my own or anywhere else. If not HP definitely Iso. I know when I played PvPs on my own or in another alliance I was spending 20k skip tax in iso every event. Was usually closer to 30k. I don't pay any now... That's a benefit. Someone more frugal and efficient than I could do this with very little money spent at all. You wouldn't be able to get an ultra high score like 2000 but you can surely get 1500-1600 very easily with little money. Most people who start on the last day can easily get to 1300 before placing a first shield. At that point if you're patient you can find 50 pt targets and be up to 1500-1600 with 2-3 shield hops. I will also state that I'm no where near an efficient player. Quite the opposite actually. I probably do spend $20 per pvp but I don't really worry about it or keep track. It's a hobby. Even if I spend $100/week on it that's about 1/4th of the amount I spend on my other two hobbies.
Now I believe you or someone else asked how it's different in Xmen than it is anywhere else. Well that's part of our advantage.... Not really something that I'm going to share here.0 -

I am one of those guys in a "no-name" alliance and WorldRunner's description matches perfectly with how I reach 1200-1300 scores. I start early and shield at 800, then hop all the way until the end at which point I'll have reached 1300 (or less if I get sniped or lose a game, which I tend to do a lot too...)0 -

If you need 6 shields to get 1300, you clearly need 4-5 more than me. I do 1300 in 1-2 shields. DreamRuiner is my ign. I could hit your scores without needing a battlechat (I never use ours) all the while avoiding hitting all 140 of my teammates (including Shamsali & Iceman). I think hitting your alliance mates is distasteful. It subverts the game in the same way prologue healing did. Prologue healing was never meant to a be a gameplay "strategy". They closed that option for that reason; frankly the game is better for emoving prologue healing. Hitting alliance mates is stupid from a logical perspective. D3 would be wise to remove hitting alliance mates from pvp play. additionally, they should put cooldown timers on shields based on the amount of time the shield is for (eliminating shield hopping)
It would be fascinating to see who stands at the top in a world where you don't profit from attacking your friends & that shields literally provide they value paid for them (no more & no less. 3 hr or 8 hr or 24 hr. Play again when it ends)0 -

Well that's just silly... If I have 1800 pts and there's 10 people in Xmen with that score and one person in venoms I'm supposed to search all day for an inefficient shield hop rather than hit someone in x1-5? We don't need to hit anyone else. Occasionally Shamsali Maestro or some one from shield Sparta or raiders has someone worth hitting but we have all the points. Who else are we going to hit?
They can change it so you can't hit alliance mates... But they'll lose money and the overall scores in PvP will go down... But it wouldnt change anything except that every 20 man alliance would suffer as they can no longer hop together. We'd probably just spread our highest scorers out over the 5 alliances and clog up the top 5. Do you really want that?0 -
JoshBot3000 then you are clearly riding on the back of xmen to get to your "1,300". If it wasn't for our high scores, I do not believe for a second that you can get high without hitting "your friends".
We score high because we work as a team. And by the way, 1,300 is nothing to talk about. It is regarded as a failure in our team but then again, an outcast like you will never be able to understand. So if you want to make your point, just beat us once in PVP and I challenge you to that.0 -
@worldrunner tbh i couldnt care less about how much cash you spend.. what tires me is your non stop posts about how great you and your crew are.. you want us to be in awe about sth that only demands money.. dont talk here about strategy or skills.. once or if you become more humble i will be more inclined to listen to you..some in your team are more low profile and try to stir the community by helping with suggestions and tips... you should ask them some advice..0

I would be all over "no hit alliance mates" & "shield countdowns" (between the two I prefer this one). You could still use battle chat to find high scorers from elsewhere & do tons of coordinated hits still. Much like losing prologue healing, you would find a new way to get results. The game would also work more logically that way since you really "shouldn't" be hitting teammates in a game w a collective score. I find my version more compelling because it shows more skill to get a big score from defeating others (who aren't trying to be beat. who aren't leaving teams that can easily be hopped on) & from using shields as intended (to protect your score for an amount of time. not to hide & snipe & hide again). I find it more compelling because it is more of a challenge. I play for a high score w 1-2 shields cause it is a better challenge.0 -
