Yeah, given I don't have either of the characters for the essentials, I'm basically giving that sub a pass. Much more fun getting my backside kicked by Doom in the other sub anyway0

That really stinks. That's the Goon only node in that sub. I'm not sure what they expect me to do to raise my score when the scaling starts sending out Uber-Hood and his cadre of Muscles.
It was like that last time too.0 -
I have a question regarding the refreshes.
Say I have 3 Nodes
400 300 50
Since every Node I play devalues another Node, does it make sense to do the 50 point one?0 -

Back when rubberband was strong you always want to do the node with the highest point first. This is significantly less relevent now that rubberband is very weak.
If you're actively fighting for a perceived contested spot, as in you think it is so contested that the other guys are actually watching your efforts, you want to go from lowest to highest because this way it might trick whoever you're competing into thinking you're out of points and then they wouldn't notice until it is too late.
From a general point of view, doing the high point node first is best because they tend to be the hardest so you can gauge how much more you can do, and getting them to refresh earlier is still worth more points than the lower point node. This is assuming there isn't an obvious difference in difficulty. If the 400 point node is Juggernaut + Ares + Daken and the 300 point node is 3 goons, you probably want to start with the 300 to make sure you don't end up with an unrecoverable wipeout on your first node.0 -
I'm not worried about the order in which I do them.
I want to know if it's worth it to do the 50 point one during the sweeps.
From what I understand the node is going to devalue all future nodes. And if it's not worth it, how many points does a node need to be worthwhile?0 -

With the weaker rubberbanding having points now is always better than having points later if not pressed for time/health packs. Doing highest first is probably still very slightly favored for maximizing rubberband, and this tends to give you the best picture of how much you need to do anyway.
Whether a node is worth it depends on what place you're shooting for and what the competition is, which is why doing the highest first is usually a good idea since that gives you a clearer picture of how much more you need, so if after doing the 400/300 you found you still need another 500 to hit some place you want then the 50 point one probably won't matter and you can just save your time, whereas doing it the other way around it'd be less obvious.0 -

If those are the base values for the nodes doing the 50 point node will only effect it's value (it'll drop to 40)...if you're far enough away to get a rubberband effect you might see the other nodes drop a point or 2 (not enough to likely matter). If you really want to avoid losing a couple points on the high value nodes do them first. Only skip the low value nodes in the final hour long push when it's more important to take whichever node is worth the most points.
EDIT: I guess technically in the final push you want to do the nodes that will give you the most points the fastest.0 -

So what exactly is up with PVE.
I've been playing A LOT. Sitting at 80k and my bracket leader has 100k. I've even had the privilege to always be awake for when the subs end.
They really need to do away with the 2,5 hour refreshes. A 9.5 day event with 2.5 hour refreshes is absolutely insane. I'm glad I don't need the green Patch Cover, wouldn't be able to get it even though I've been grinding since day1 and never missing a sub.
I'm assuming they want people to participate in the PVE instead of sniping them 8 hours before it ends. But joining early puts you into this ridiculous commitment.
I salute all the brave soldiers who have an alarm set for every 150 minutes. But effort stands in no relation to the prize I fear.0 -

With the weak rubberband it functions very closely to no rubberband. That is, each cycle you miss is something you never get back and the guy who can play every 2.5 hour is going to end up with a runaway lead.
I'm currently at #2 with 115K and #1 has 121K. I'm pretty sure the #1 is doing close to all possible cycles. That said, 'crazy' is a relative term. To the guy at #3 at 107K he must think I'm never missing any cycle, even though I obviously do, especially compared to the guy at #1.
My hope is that when a Magneto nerf comes around it'd no longer be possible to do the maximum number of cycles without spending money on health pack, so that should cut down most of the craziness. Of course people could just end up buying health packs but there is no system you can come up with where spending money wouldn't give you an advantage, otherwise no one would ever spend money and that'd be bad for D3. I'm pretty much not even playing PvP because the health packs wouldn't work out even with Magneto, so I really think the number of cycles I could possibly do is going to wait down if I don't have Magneto and that should apply to everyone else and cut back the insanity.0 -
I know you're kind of obsessed with mags, phantron, but it's not really anywhere near as big a deal as you're making it sound like. Ever since they turned down the scaling, you can pretty much brute force it, since you only have a minor level disadvantage.
Hell, Just using my non-maxed boosted characters has been more than enough to complete the big push at the end of each sub without ever running out of medpacks. For a single run through? Probably only need a couple of them, max.0 -

I second this - in fact, I find myself using maybe only 2 or 3 health packs during my final push...my only maxed 3* is Psylocke, and even though she's buffed, I don't seem to be using her all that much....
If you stick to ONLY 3-4 characters, then yeah, you'll need them more. My main team has been HT/LDaken/Falcon (was OBW before Plantron reminded me of Falcon, so thanks for that ), but Sentry, cMags, MNMags, cStorm, Psy, Fury (duh), Patch, 2&3*Thor all make regular appearances....even an underdeveloped Deadpool joins in from time to time because....well, because Deadpool
cMags is a last resort for me because he's undervalued, but even undervalued he's almost always a guaranteed win. But he's so slow, so he usually sits on the sideline until I start seeing 150+ baddies.....0 -

Yep. A good proof of this being true was Heroic Oscorp where Mags wasn't available and people still put up ridiculous scores.0 -
I've finally received my one (Nick Fury) today, took like what, 12+ tokens? With 2/3 of them are **Magneto.0

how fast do you pull the token? any advantage pulling them one after the other at lightning speeds?
anyways adding to the latest comments on the low scaling/rubberband. I am rank 1 with 121k, 2nd place is 115k and 3rd is 101k.
unless I drop the ball completely, I think I am safe for top 2 finish. For the last 7 days, my routine has always been just to hit every node once, then after 2.5 hrs, nail them each down to a 6-7+ hr refresh so I can take a break and sleep or what ever. Even on many occasions skipping the final 3 hr push even as most days I would nail each node down to 60-70+ pts and just walk away. Seems to work and is way less taxing then being glue to my phone every 2.5 hrs. My standard key moment usually lies at the start the new sub nodes where I would hit everything down 3x per node for a 6-7 hr refresh then head to bed. I can normally do this in 1 hr.0 -

Opening batches of 12 tokens you'd expect that 75% of the time you would get no Fury. So that's pretty good luck.
I'm in the no Fury from tokens camp, and I've gotten 1 from each sub, except for Canada, where I got two, plus the progression reward tokens.
I'm still not bummed about it, since it's not like I've bought a 42 pack, which still has a 37.6% chance of not getting a Fury for roughly $80.0 -
No Fury for me either, but I'm still hovering between 4th-12th place depending on the time of day. And I've drawn 8 three-star covers from tokens (and the HT progression reward) so far. As much as I really need that green Patch cover, even if I finish out of the top 10 I'm still calling this one a win.0
-
I didn't save the tokens & pulled them in one go, in fact shortly after I've been rewarded with the token(s) from the subs, I tried my luck, but it was terrible. Every day I received 2x **Magneto. I got to the point where I conceded that I'll never get Nick Fury & just anticipated receiving 250 iso's...low & behold, finally mu fortune has changed. I even pulled ***Loki from a standard token.0

1 for 13 on Token pulls so far, with the 1 being a hood yellow I have maxed. Bad time to run bad.
Also resigned myself to finishing 3rd. 3-8k behind at any given moment, with the two leaders showing no signs of stopping. Unless Ghast wants to start an 'I quit' thread in the next 36 hrs or so that is.0 -
GrumpySmurf1002 wrote:Unless Ghast wants to start an 'I quit' thread in the next 36 hrs or so that is.
Speaking of I quit threads I not played a single node since they swapped over to 5am finishes - so 3 and a half subs so far - and I only dropped from top 10 to just outside the top 100. I will do a few nodes in the next couple as it looks like the guild might drop out of top 50 but I was thinking I would have dropped more being totally inactive.0
