Sentry seems to used as a defence and shield hoping specialist. For shield hopping 355 is the obvious build and I think the most common. Stricktly as defence 553 seems more effective, since a single strike tile can't touch the damage created to the entire team. Just depends how you want to use him. Defencive wins seem to be rare. And shield hoping is becoming more and more necessary as the field of players with many maxed three stars continually increases.

Dammit, I hate it when I guess right. Sentry... now I have to play for realz and aim for at least top25 placement. Which 3* characters synergize well with Black Panther? It's time to let him rip.

I need a green and yellow and mine is done, so I'll be pushing in this one. My Sentry is also about to hit his soft cap (he's 137 or 138 and caps at 140) so the timing is nice, too. Now if I can get some Lazy Thor covers, since he's in pretty much the exact same boat (but needs a red and yellow).

I don't know how much value there is to trying to figure out which is the best defensive Sentry build. If you'll allow me a poker analogy, using Sentry on defense is a little bit like raising with a questionable hand. You've put yourself in a position where chances are anyone who's going to call you has you beat.

Sure Sentry will keep some people away just by his mere presence on your team, but for that purpose it doesn't really matter what your build is. And anyone who's willing to take a run at your Sentry team with confidence is probably either running their own Sentry team and using boosts, or some version of the CMags power hour in which case it really doesn't matter what team you're using. You might get the odd person taking a shot in the dark with an underpowered team, but planning a character build on not just defense, but a fraction of the total attacks where it's going to matter, seems like a poor choice. Better to just build him 3/5/5 for offense where he really shines for quick wins and call it a day.

Totally need those Red and Green Sentry covers but going off what happened in the last PvP, I'm gonna have to settle for top 50. Sentry is one of those highly wanted covers so I expect the battles to be fierce. >.> Also, 3k+ damage to the faces of your team if BP gets 12 Black is no bueno.

I retreated to join a bracket. 140 people in it at the time, it took about 20 minutes to get to at least 499 players. A few others either retreated in or wiped after me and are below me so I can't see if there's exactly 500.

I would love to hear something official on if they've made some adjustments to the sharting or not. Earlier in the seasons it was brutal, they acknowledged the nudges were a bit less gentle than they wanted. In season three it seemed to have been sorted quite well.

If the goal is to make the prizes more accessible, how does that help someone for whom 700 points might get them a top 10 with more gentle nudges, if now it maybe gets them top 50 if they're in a death bracket? The players capable of grabbing top 5 with a 1k+ score are probably going to do that regardless of their brackets, why make it really tough for the other players in that bracket?

I agree. I've been "sharted" on in both events so far.

I'm in there with you j - I think we must have 500 because my place stopped dropping. I don't need more than the single sentry cover, so probably won't push too hard. I think sharding would be hard to identify in this one - I expect lots of people to push hard for sentry covers so high scores should be pretty common - it would be interesting if anyone can report a bracket with a low scoring top ten.

I decided to jump into an early bracket too, since there doesn't seem to be much points in waiting for a strategic time if we're just going to get shuffled off to the slaughterhouse anyway. So far so good, no heavy hitters popping up in the top 10 yet. And really what the hell, I mean it's not like it can be any worse than the last two brackets I've been in. I do need a yellow cover, so top 25. Might even splurge for a 3 hour shield this time, big spender that I am. icon_razz.gif

Dear kitty. How does one tell how many people are in a bracket? I had time to kill, so I decided to join and mopped up the three seed teams, then fight a real match to set my defence team, then checked out the leaderboard for some idea what the current top scores might look like.

Tiny, tiny kitty. I'm in #3 with 104 points.

On steam at least you'll see something like this on the event front page:

    (I haven't joined yet so I can't show you Predator & Prey)

Mm, thanks. On Android I only seem to see totals on the season and after the event ends. Everything's normal, I managed to join just as the bracket opened. #1 seems in a tearing hurry. They've already zoomed up from 100-something to over 500 points. Did they queue up a bunch of 1000-point targets or what? icon_e_smile.gif It was funny while it lasted.

Did I get lucky or are the brackets a little more friendly in this one? Leader at 613, top 10 at 445. Past 2 events have been over 800 at the halfway point.

Could be bracketing, could be PVE ending today. I think I played 2 or 3 PVP fights today because all of my available play time is going to the PVE. I'd expect a lot of people are doing likewise. The true test will be tomorrow once PVE is over and there's only PVP.

Even when it looks safe, a lot of people who don't extensively shield hop wait to make their big pushes until they can use one shield. So don't count your chickens until tomorrow night

I only need 2 greens so I need a top 5. i dont plan on risking it much so I will push towards winning it... although it looks like reckless has other ideas.

I tried to be sneaky and jump into a bracket while everyone was distracted with grinding in PvE - apparently I wasn't the only one with that idea icon_e_sad.gif
