I think most of this has already been mentioned, but I figured I'd throw in my two cents on what I'm seeing:
- Obfuscating the buff info doesn't seem to have any user benefit. Even if the buffs aren't visible on the selection screen, having the specifics somewhere would be really helpful.
- The Recruit Heroes panel being misaligned with the other 2 panels really, really bothers me in an ODCish kind of way.
- The red ISO flash gets a little annoying when I see it about 3 times in 10 seconds. Maybe just show it when entering the sub-event, and not when returning from the other screens?0 -

Ahh, only have 3 hood covers so I've never even considered him..especially after seeing how low his hp was even after buffs.0 -

This is the first update that has caused this game to be much less fun. I've held the update for only 6 hours, and I'm already playing other games more than MPQ. At this rate, my disposable income will start going back to Avengers Alliance. There, at least, I can feel like my superheroes are, well, super...
Sorry, but nerfing the Critical buff midway through The Hunt is tantamount to coitus interruptus. Not fun, not fun at all.0 -
At least everybody has to have the patch now so those whiners can sit down.0

Sadly, it appears that whiners like you will just keep posting though.0 -

Why do you even play this game and post in this forum? All you do is complain...not even give suggestions, just complain.0 -

I just went through some of his past posts and it's true. I couldn't find anything that wasn't negative about the game, but I guess every forum has users like that.0 -

Hilarious! So true.
Tragic. So true.0 -

I really don't see how a universal nerfing of how crits work is a rich-gets-richer type of thing.
When they nerfed c.storm i was the first to call them out on it.0 -

Crits are a way for weaker, lower levelled characters (i.e. non-rich people characters) to fight against max levelled characters.0 -

The fallacy there is assuming max leveled characters belong to paid players.
The other fallacy that you're ignoring is that strong players abuse magneto and his crit generation to make wiping out easier teams that much easier. This nerfs ragnarok and magneto more than it does any other character (except maybe bullseye lol)0 -

I really don't understand what your stake in the game is. You're completely wrong dude.
Also, of course it nerfs stronger players as well, a nerf is a nerf. The point is that new players used to be able to trot out a low level villain during a lightning round, get lucky with some crits and start winning rounds, because the buff made both crits AND environmental tiles accessible.
Good luck getting a forest fire or the secondary lab power now. Same with Hawkeye in The Hunt. He was useful for low level people to chain crits and actually win. Good luck beating 2 or 3x 230 DAs without a high level/high blue cover Spidey and high level Thor now. It was possible before with just Hawkeye and luck.
You are 100%, no question about it, wrong.0 -

Yup. I've been calling for this change for weeks for a variety of reasons, but this is one of them. By applying the buff to both match damage and the crit multiplier, you were effectively squaring the buff.
Suppose we have a character with 20 match damage and a multiplier of 3. That character gets buffed 200%. Their match damage is now 60, so a three-match critical goes from 180 to 540, 3x or a 200% buff. With the buff also applied to the crit multiplier, it becomes 9, for a match three of 1620, 9x base damage for an 800% increase. That's just silly.
Crits still do much more damage with buffed characters because the base match damage is increased. Doing thousands of points of damage with a simple three-match was ridiculous. The same is true for environmental tiles. Making a three-match shouldn't enable you to (in some cases) use multiple forest fires. It was broken. This is a good fix. Now that this has been changed, I do think they should re-evaluate the cost of second tier environmental abilities to make them more accessible. You should be able to focus on getting to them without needing crit tiles if you want to.jozier wrote:Good luck getting a forest fire or the secondary lab power now. Same with Hawkeye in The Hunt. Yes, the cost of environmental abilities should be looked at. Your other point here is a valid criticism. This was a very large change to make mid-tournament, and I can understand why this would cause frustration. The devs should have taken this into account. However, in the long run this is a good change that should be judged on the big picture, and not the impact on one tournament, even though that impact happens to suck big time.0 -

Who do you think benefits more from insane crit tiles, strong 3* characters that consistently can generate them and do MASSIVE damage with them (rag and mag)...or weaker characters?
Sure, buffed crits can help weaker players occasionally beat stronger players. But more consistently, all it did was make stronger players walk through weaker players that much easier.0 -

So why did the guy below you agree with me?0 -
jozier wrote:You are 100%, no question about it, wrong.
Except he's not. If you think otherwise then you simply don't understand what you can do with a high level C. Magneto and his blue power. I know DumDumDugan's has 5 blue, so he can generate crits on a board pretty much at will once he has 5 blue AP, and as long as there's blue on the board it's self refilling.
It affects everyone, pretty much equally.
It's humorous though. When they first started buffing heroes in tournaments crit and environment collection weren't affected. Then they were. Now they're not again.
And this isn't even CLOSE to the biggest change they've made. Or has everyone forgotten how broken buffing got in the middle of Heroic Juggernaut, where buffed characters no longer had their increased strength considered for matching? They even persisted that for a bit to see how it went before reverting it.
You can view this one of two ways -- devs that don't care and do whatever they want or devs that do care a great deal about the game and are continuously trying to improve it. At this point there is absolutely no time when a tournament isn't running, so complaining that it's mid-tournament is simply hilarious.0
