That's why I was concerned...
When you made a post, you removed yourself from the "zero posts" list. The spamming is mostly a 2 part process. First, build up a bunch of fake members. Second, spew out a lot of spam. I'm working to make that first part impossible.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but I had 13 posts to that point (which your list had next to my name)...there we're many others on there that had at least 1 or 2 posts...just curious how those people (including myself) made the "zero posts" list (or in my case, "likely to be removed"...
Not trying to cause a stir or anything...again, just curious0 -
Posting to avoid deletion. Apparently, you (nonce) didn't check the list for fellow ex-kitchens (not that I would've expected you to)!0

this is my token post to prove I'm a real lurking human!0

I see no difference in spam input.
And still curious why is it good that newcomers can spawn several topics for a jump start when 1 per week would still be plenty for normal use.
From the number of views even the 'several topics from same unknown user' in a cluster doesn't work on readers.
I'd just install a robo-moderator that makes the count and auto-deletes (or hides, quarantines, etc) all topics spawned by the same user in short time with 5-10m delay (tuned by the usual entry pattern).0 -
While the forums are as flooded with spam as ever I see there are spare resources for witch hunt -- posts of snikrot disappeared along with the user despite having no ill content.
Seriously, that is beyond pathetic. Shame on anyone did the action is assisted. If I was mod here would resign this very moment out of utter disgust.0 -

If emeryt had done the same, he would not have needed to create an alt.pasa_ wrote:posts of snikrot disappeared along with the user despite having no ill content.
I'd say referencing the money line in your new account's sig qualifies as ill content.0 -

Guess you have no idea what you're talking about.
Emeryt DID resign from moderating. His name turned to black alright just IceIX goofed with removing moderator rights right away.
3 weeks later he still had mod privileges that should not have been there in the first place.
He would not have needed to create an alt if the job was properly done, as there would be no rights to abuse to start with.
Certainly as usual in this world it's easier to blame **** on others instead of MAN up for one's mistakes and share the consequences.0 -

Thanks for all the hard work, Nonce. You seem to be the hardest working member of the staff, paid or not.0

You are very welcome. D3 doesn't seem to want to implement the most obvious forum solutions, but they are willing to have SilverHawk spend D3 company time deleting spammers and spam, so we may as well let D3 handle it for awhile. If they want me back more actively, then they can spend three minutes, just once, to do the list of obvious and easy administrator tasks. Alternately, they can spend much more time than that every day scrubbing the boards.
Meanwhile, keep reporting the spam with the little triangle icon. It's quite helpful, and I've used it to compile lists of members that are very good at reporting spam. I'm sure eventually, those lists I've made will be used to appoint a new crop of moderators.0 -
I upped mass bans to memberlist.php?sk=d&sd=a&start=4625 . 508 weird looking user names from 09oiu50br to zzkafej193 were removed.0

Just registered...posting here to avoid the mighty banhammer. For whosoever wields the banhammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of MODS.0

Posting to prove I'm real, and that I survived the Ban - thanks to whomever unbanned me last night. Now, let the free rep rain down on me like Iceman in a curry house.0

Thanks for being active at removing spammers! But think you might be a little too active! My friend created an account yesterday and got blocked already. now she can't post. Can you please unban "ruussh".
Thanks in advance.0
