I'd like to put out a suggestion for his name...
Diet Torch
Same flavor, fewer calories0 -
I'm sticking to Human Pilot Light
And wow those required nodes in the hard sub are brutal. I got through them - just - but I lost Laken every time.0 -
The nodes are quite hard but Daken and Sentry took turn powering through them with sheer brute force, with Magneto making an emergency appearance when needed.
Falcon + Daken is a PvE bulldozer. In the first round I had 2K match 3s in some of my games, but Falcon takes a pretty significant beating on yellow/blue matches.0 -
I'm finding the Simulator to be challenging at times, but overall fun. I like trying to go for Sentry and LDaken and not having to worry too much about placing too high.captainspoil21 wrote:Really? because most of the other comments here seem to disagree. Since nobody wants a useless 2*. People would much rather a useful 3*, Hell it doesn't even need to be a new 3* I was simply making that a suggestion. Here's an idea maybe just maybe they could have made the top prizes the 3* Human Torch and the lower prizes the new 2* human torch. If people really want the 2* then they can easily get it and for the people that want a usefull human torch they will go for the 3*. There problem solved. Also I have been playing for quite awhile and I can honestly say that I would prefer a new 3* over this new 2*. Now in saying that If the 2* had been a completely new cover character and new powers I would much prefer that and would not have any complaints. But all they have done is brought out a weaker cover of a cover already out, they took a backwards step in this rather than a forward. Which is lazy. So I don't know how long YOU have been playing but most people I know who play the game and most people on this forum would have rathered a new 3* over this weak 2*, or like I said at least it could have been a new character 2* which would have been most preferred over everything.
You know as well as I do that 2* Torch will more than likely be required for the essentials for the next PVE, and that most people would rather have 3* Torch. With your solution, you have to choose between improving your roster or having a more difficult time in the next PVE.
I would like a new 2*, but you know that designing a new character takes time and obviously is not something that the devs want to put a lot of time into. Of course, I too would rather have had a new 2* then a copy, but it just seems very unlikely that will occur.
As to why I'd rather not have a new 3*, they take a lot of time to complete and level before you can really use them as part of your main team and I have enough characters that I'd like to level, so I don't need another one.0 -
Ugh. I just had to sit through way too long of an enemy turn in this damn Hood/LStorm/Doom node because of them magically having enough AP to use half of their damn powers and constantly cascading into 5* matches. And the board it gives me? ****.
And same damn thing next turn. I'm sick of this.
EDIT: JESUS! Every damn turn! They get these damn cascades that lead to using the powers MULTIPLE TIMES! I just want to yell at someone. This stupid **** is NOT fun. Whoever decided to group these three together and keep with the stupid AI that has everything work perfectly for it needs to be punched in the face repeatedly.
I couldn't take it anymore and quit the damn Node. I don't care. It's not worth this much frustration for a little over 100 points. Screw this.0 -

Only looked through 2 pages, but didn't see this [obvious] suggestion: Bag Torch.0

Or... Baglady's Little Bro.0 -
You gotta be kidding me.
The final essential in hard has a 165 Juggs and LT for me.That's totally insane for an essential.
I guess one full clear it is for me. I definitely need to get my scaling under control again.0 -
i just joined. ill do 1full clear of each, but no more. hell, i might even skip some nodes if the look too pain -in- the- assy
i couldnt care less about this event and its rewards.
nice easy week. marc0 -

I haven't even fully cleared it (still got the top three to do) and I'm still running 25th0 -
Just did a playthrough of hard mode. Nothing overly ugly that caused me to lose more than one character except jugggy/sentry/ares. Was close on the first attempt as well. Mine are also at 145. Sorry Bow.
Second try I went "Oh, duh... it's desert."
So brought out mstorm to play with daken and patch. That did the trick in style.
As for the rest, 256 Daken, maxed Patch and 100 something Falcon have been running a train on those clowns. Been pretty fun so far.0 -
Hello again Bowgentle bracket buddies for life LOL
j seems to be in the same bracket as well.. Can't remember the numbers after your j
Scaling is sick, highest for me was 171 for non essential, essentials was "only" at 140+ for me..
This is all community scaling? On first pass and already this crazy.. Can't imagine people grinding for that super lazy cover..0 -

Pats (another Django) is also in our bracket.
Let's go team lazy bracket and not touch that next sub for a day or so.0 -
After people told me about the Hard Mode nodes, I actually looked over them. All of them made me Nope. When it and the PvP are ending tonight, I'll definitely be looking more toward the PvP.0

I'm wondering why the essentials are so crazy high, normally they are half of what the normal nodes are, level-wise.
Some tinkering with game rules again, as usual, I guess.0 -

Welcome to my world However nothing that (Patch or Pun)/LDaken/Mag cannot each for breakfast.
With luck the next PvE will not have covers I need and I can just basically skip it totally. However when
Mags is nerfed into the ground going to be painful for a couple of events.
I need to get my starting values down so community scaling does not push them through the roof.0 -
I've been using Daredevil on the Juggernaut/Sentry/Ares node, and he's worked out pretty well when there's red on the board (and his blue has worked a few times too). Granted, I'm unusual in having a leveled up Daredevil, but the nearly 8k damage he's doing has one-shotted people a few times now. I've been using him as an anti-Juggernaut weapon several times now and it's a role he excels in.0

My thoughts on this one:
-- I believe that the Simulator is a test-run to see exactly how high players can push with the level-shifted 3***s. When the event started, my qualifier nodes were in the range of their normal starting values + 25, which strikes me as highly suspicious. Another possible explanation is that scaling was not reset from the end of the previous event and just carried over straight-up from the last She-Hulk Heroic. However, this is worrisome as there are still two more rounds to go and difficulty is pretty much already at maximum for most players.
-- Remember: 166 is the new 141. So, yes, the numbers are higher and damage potential is greater, but the overall difficulty is not really any higher. However in counterbalance, the devs are already throwing out final round roster combinations in the opening sub (Sentry and Lazy Daken are already present), resulting in the nodes being significantly more difficult then their level numbers would indicate.
-- Major boosted (+90 levels) Daken (especially at level 256) laughs at almost everything. Only a (Headbutt + Onslaught) or a (Sacrifice + World Rupture) in rapid succession makes him cry.
-- Don't underestimate the power of Chemical Reaction. Suffocating Daken is much more preferable to World Rupture/Onslaught/Headbutt always. Downing Sentry/Ares/Juggs right before they can execute their powers with Chemical Reaction will almost always turn a near-loss into a win. Daken can regenerate a 4k headbutt much easier than other roster members.
-- Human Torch hides very nicely behind Lazy Daken for needed extra damage against these high health opponents. Daken will tank Black + Green for him, while fueling Inferno and Flame Jet. Lazy Thor or IM40 can cover Red for Torch. Lazy Thor of course brings Thunder Strike/Call the Storm, which is lovely on the Desert stage, and IM40 can Recharge Fireball all day long. (Note: As Torch is boosted, depending on his level, he may tank Red regardless of who a player brings.)
-- And of course there is adding a 5 Blue CMags to ensure total carnage. Yes, this asphyxiates Daken, but does it really matter when the other side won't see another turn?
-- And also, Hood is useful for slowing the opposing team down to grant a player that "one more turn" needed to down Sentry/Ares/Juggs.0 -

And you guys decide: Should I try doing Hard Mode for this event? Or save myself the frustration and just stick with Normal Mode?
.....Yeh, not dealing with that. Might use it occasionally if I need a couple points to get to the next level prize.
same here. i just skipped that node altogethef
