  • Really? because most of the other comments here seem to disagree. Since nobody wants a useless 2*. People would much rather a useful 3*, Hell it doesn't even need to be a new 3* I was simply making that a suggestion. Here's an idea maybe just maybe they could have made the top prizes the 3* Human Torch and the lower prizes the new 2* human torch. If people really want the 2* then they can easily get it and for the people that want a usefull human torch they will go for the 3*. There problem solved. Also I have been playing for quite awhile and I can honestly say that I would prefer a new 3* over this new 2*. Now in saying that If the 2* had been a completely new cover character and new powers I would much prefer that and would not have any complaints. But all they have done is brought out a weaker cover of a cover already out, they took a backwards step in this rather than a forward. Which is lazy. So I don't know how long YOU have been playing but most people I know who play the game and most people on this forum would have rathered a new 3* over this weak 2*, or like I said at least it could have been a new character 2* which would have been most preferred over everything.

you are missing the point. the point is to give players like you a break from all the recent new 3* characters, especially with 3 more already in the pipeline.

I always just assumed i would need to have CMag at a reasonable lvl for him to be usable but as long as you get the strike tiles out there he works just fine. His powers aren't as cheap as they could be but if you collect a few up at the beginning it's fine.
I'd say minimum 3 blue & 3 red covers before he really starts being a wrecking ball. Purple is nice too but if you're just spamming his red with strike tile help you don't really need it.

He's also been my biggest headache so far. That hard node with him, Bagdevil and Thor kicked the **** out of me a couple of times until I got Patch & Hulk to work.

No you are missing the point. This event is a joke. If D3 really wanted to give any players a break they wouldn't have so many events on the go at the same time and they wouldn't have the season events happening one after the other with no breaks in between. The fact is this was a poorly planned event plain and simple. The better set up would be Human Torch 3* as the top prize and 2* Torch in the lower prize section. A lot of players are going to get screwed over by this event. The lower players most will end up in the lower prize pool only getting captain America and the higher players will get a useless cover they don't need and probs just sell or hang onto just to see if they need it for any upcoming events. It's flawed this event, you can't defend D3 for this they messed up plain and simple. Even if they did truly do it to give certain players a break, their execution of it has been messed up.
  • Whoever decided Hood/Doom/LStorm was a good combo needs a haymaker directly between the legs.

Just had to make a quick comment.

Also, I am loving Bullseye so much right now. Being able to cover the board in Protect Tiles is fantastic.

Is this a new nerf now not having any alliance rewards in the subs?
  • I'm fine with no Alliance Rewards in the Subs.

And you guys decide: Should I try doing Hard Mode for this event? Or save myself the frustration and just stick with Normal Mode?
  • Hello Amanda, nice to meet you icon_e_smile.gif

Stop grinding, I must clear those hard nodes cause you icon_razz.gif

I just got a serious beating on that one... insane cascades all over, they cast demons, heilstorm, mistress at least 2x apiece. finished 2 characters at 100 health.

I'm skipping hard mode, level 140 Juggernaut, and with Sentry, yeah screw that.

.....Yeh, not dealing with that. Might use it occasionally if I need a couple points to get to the next level prize.

Yeah, this Simulator is one of the hardest PvE's I've seen. Definitely can't grind because I can make very few teams that can hit any of the Hard Mode nodes, especially since my Daken is 0/1/2. Funny thing is, even though I feel like I can't grind I'm still top 50 in both Modes, so at least it isn't just me.

By the way, I'm not complaining... I don't really enjoy grinding PvE nodes over and over again. Just noting that this event has a very different feel to it for me.

icon_rolleyes.gif Most of the nodes are too hard for me and I don't have LDaken. Too bad for me!
  • I didn't even realize the reward is 2* Torch until I visited the forums. I guess I wasn't expecting anything.

I think devs worked on this PvE a bit more than usual. Enemy teams show some good combinations and you are forced to change your team constantly because of different locked chars in each node. That must be their way of saying "Look! Roster diversity. See?". Of course you should have those chars that are buffed for the event. Otherwise, it doesn't work. I find this event a bit more enjoyable than others. Also, they did a new layout for sim screen it seems. Btw, buffed Cap and Moon are ok together.

I couldn't complete the hard sim. Some nodes were too difficult.
  • I'm playing pretty hyper casually - maybe 1-2 matches every 4 hours or so - and I'm still top ten in both. I'd like the Sentry (which is probably in the bag) and the Lazy Dakn, if they're in reach, and the tokens for the subs would be nice too. The actual featured prize - as long as I get a cover for essentials in the next event, I"m fine - he'll be fully covered once he's in the packs anyway.
  • Just got my first Simulator Pack and got an... Ares. I really wish they would give the packs an actual, semi-decent shot at pulling 3*s.

I got squat out of mine too. I think there's something like a 40% chance of pulling Ares, Moonstone or Bullseye.

Unless you're running out of health packs from normal mode (and pvp?) there is no reason not to at least attempt hard mode. I remember the first Simulator being one of my first PvPs and being able to do really well since my personal scaling was so low and I was able to do all the essentials even after the other nodes got to be too hard from community scaling. Obviously things have changed since then, so you can't place highly just rubberbanding on essentials only, but you should at least do some of it and get some rewards.

It's an almost 50% chance of pulling Ares, 2* Cap, Moonstone, or Bullseye. Which is ridiculous with 2*s being PvP prizes now. Add in the OTHER 2* characters, and that's 81.8% from a single pack. Those odds for an event pack are just idiotic. I seriously hope whoever still buys these packs stops so they get the message. Hell, don't have to bring back the guaranteed 3*. Just make the odds noticeably better.

To be fair, those are essentially the odds on all of the featured packs now.
Trial by Combat: 81.6% chance of a 2*, drops to 77.9% on 10/42 packs.
    Heroic: 83.8% chance of a 2*, drops to 79.4% on 10/42

On any of those packs you're essentially looking at slightly worse than 1/5 that you'll get anything other than a 2*. In this case it's just that you're looking at the majority of those 2* pulls being Ares, Cap, Moonstone, or Bullseye.

The thing is though, we can all talk on here about how bad it is to buy them. We know that. We're preaching to the choir though. And the choir is small compared to everyone else out there. This is a F2P game, and those make their money on players early into the game. They may buy a few hundred HP to buy some character slots, and have a little left. So they roll the dice on a couple tokens. They have no idea that it used to be a 1/4 shot of a featured character per draw if they bought the 10-pack. Or that before that they could buy a 10 pack and guarantee that they could have that character and thus be able to play the essential nodes. Heck, I remember buying a guaranteed Black Panther cover pack during a simulator I think. You were guaranteed at least one BP cover. I think I got 3. I was ecstatic. There was also a version that offered one of the other featured characters as a guarantee instead of BP.

D3 has said that players are buying more cover packs because they like rolling the dice. ****. Now that you can't guarantee that you'll get those essential characters, new players might buy 2 10-packs instead of one. Or even spring for the $78.91 42-pack. Yes, that's right... people do buy them. They spend nearly $80 to have a chance at being able to play with a new character, and still come out with as best as I can math, still a 7.4% chance that they don't get a single cover for the better part of a Stark Salary. That's pretty crummy.
