  • I didn't exactly play round 1 a lot but I did really enjoy having access to my full deep roster after all those heroics. Just slap daken with any two covers and go to town for the most part. Fireballs, psy whips, sunders oh my.
  • Anyone else noticing a decided lack of activity since the Sentry round started?

I've barely been playing since it flipped last night and I've already risen to 30th overall.

Top is currently 54511 in my bracket, but I don't think the community as a whole gives a shiznit about the little flamer.

Because a large portion of the population was only in it for the green Sentry cover from progression, and now that they've got it they no longer give one singular tinykitty about the rest of this event. Some people may still be after the Lazy Daken cover at the end of the rainbow. To them I say good luck. You'll need it.

Me, I'll pick at it occasionally for the hell of it and for Iso harvesting. And I'll rubberband my way up at the end for a shot at some HP. But grinding for The Human Zippo? No thanks. I'd rather watch a Fantastic Four movie (spoiler alert: I do not want to watch a Fantastic Four movie).
  • Haven't started this new sub but IIRC I saw a node with Venom+Spidey+Goon, anyone tried this? Seems like the devs want another revenge at our stunlocking before icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Why would there be serious activity early on in an event with historically strong rubberband with 2D 12H subs?

I didn't have an easier time doing #2 out of 200 compared to doing #10 out of 1000 in Iso 8 brotherhood on the easy bracket. The hard bracket had way less competition but it's easy to see why when you got Juggernaut at level 180 in two of the essential nodes wiping out players.

I know my Alliance is officially taking this one off and I certainly am. Played the nodes to get the big ISO payouts and that's it. Might come in late in the subs to take advantage of the big rubberband points and push towards getting the green Sentry progression cover, that's all.

Offensively stupid individual prizes, hardly any Alliance prizes at all = no-one cares. It's kind of a shame, the fights they set up in Simulator are more fun and challenging than the fights in any Heroic you care to name, but without the prizes it's hard to be bothered.
  • I guess it's a good thing most people don't see the value to compete for 200 HP every 2D 12H versus 100 HP over the same timespan in PvP. Otherwise it'd be hard to make 2000 HP or so in Iso 8 Brotherhood if everyone figured out the sub award is where the really valuable stuff is.

Note that your alliance and progression rewards is rarely impacted by how competitive you are. You can let your PvP rating go to a freefall and still pick up the 100 HP for 800 rating quite easily with a strong enough roster, and likewise outside of a few borderline cases your alliance's HP intake is unlikely to ever be affected by your personal effort.

Because only D3's metrics people are as obsessed with numbers as you are

Human Torch. In the Simulator all the major buffed 3* will have a minor buff when it's not their round.

Wouldn't mind the purple Daken, don't need any Falcon covers besides one purple so I'm likely to grind down at the end of the second couple of subs, healthpacks permitting. Haven't started yet and have no idea how hard the nodes are, although one with Spidey/Venom/Don looks nasty; it's bound to be featured in the next Hard sub, where overscaled Don will generate tons of blue and black for Spidey to stun you into oblivion and Venom to feast on you.
Oh and also Spidey will heal all of them.

You need 90K by the time this sub ends to be on pace for 150K.

    Aw. Hope it's doable then.
My main leader has 48k atm.

Its more like how many points you had at the end of the first sub. Say you finished on 37K - like I did - You have to pull in 51K these subs and 62K next. Which might just be doable any lower and I would think it will not be possible to catch up. But I have already decided that 150K would require too much work and I pick up my last purple in the next PvP event with him as a reward.

30 hours into this sub and my hard sim 10 has increased by 40+ levels without me even starting, going to be fun in the last 40 minute push. It looks like most people have not started them yet as I have only dropped from 1st to 13th in this time. Going to start these subs about 12H out so I am sure I will see some forum people in them. Plan is to finish top 50.

Yes, those two subs should be fun icon_e_smile.gif
I'll just grab my Sentry cover in these subs and then see where I'll end up. If I can get an individual Torch cover without doing any work, then I'm all for it.
    Else I won't bother.

For what it is worth, I'm still (currently) shooting for the Daken award. As a feasibility report, only two of us in the bracket are above 60k (I'm at 62226), and the Hard mode levels for the Essentials are 124-125, 145-146, and 157-158.
  • I got my Sentry, and I'm just accepting I won't get Daken. I'm going to treat this one like the IM40 one and play a few matches every so often and leave it at that.

I'm in the same boat. I just want to get in the top 150, because you know that 2* Torch is going to be required in an essential node somewhere down the line - I just know it.
