Season 4 ranking: #36.
Season 5 ranking: #39.
Season 6 ranking: #38.
Season 7 ranking: #24.

Do you want to be part of a top 25 alliance? Join us!

Our ideal teammate should:
- score 650+ each PVP event.
- communicate (we understand life is NOT about MPQ :) just let us know when you can't play)
- enjoy grinding PVE. We're mostly PVP specialists, so we're looking for some PVE maniacs :) to form a healthy mix that can get top 100 in PVE when needs be.

For Season 8, our goals are:
- stay top 50 in all PVP events we decide to, aim for top 25 whenever possible.
- stay top 100 in PVE events that give out new heroes.

We were top 100 in seasons 1-3, top 50 in seasons 4-6, and top 25 in season 7, with top 50/top 25 placements in the last 30+ PVP events, so join us if you need some covers - you'll get them :)

Please PM me, rent_a_john & falconeyed and tell us your Season 7 score, current PVP event score, current PVE event score and in-game ID / current alliance.
If you can't PM, make 5 posts in various areas like General Discussion / Tips & Guides / Alliances > Player looking for alliance and you'll get the PM posting rights.

A few things about us - we're a casual group of daily players whose only goal is simple: have fun and stay in top 100 PVP to get the alliance cover in all events, while progressing as fast as possible to make top 100 survival easier :)

We look for serious players who'll let us know when real life strikes and they can't play for a while. Most of us have 32+ rosters so we can play any and all events, and we'd love to welcome similarly minded people.
We expect everybody to play their best and help the group score as much as possible; due to the game getting more and more competitive, we had to introduce event quotas. We understand life isn't only about MPQ, so we don't really care about PVE unless we all decide the covers are worth grinding for.

This semi-laid back attitude :) has led to some eventful season ends - we were 100th in Season 1, after a nail-biting finish:
99 - Fun Police, 197468
100 - HulkUnited, 197320
101 - Arch Angels, 197303

...95th in Season 2, after a guy deserted the alliance during the season's very last day:
94. DeadPeasants 171088
95. HulkUnited 171007
96. Custer 170883

...and 95th again in Season 3. We thought scoring 20k more than during Season 2 would put us in the 75-85 area, alas it didn't happen:
94. Savages 189378
95. HulkUnited 189297
96. ArCaD1A 189250

We recently reinforced the "600 points minimum" rule and our results got way better, staying top 100 easily, reaching top 50 three times and top 25 once.

Our final Season 4 rank was 36th:
35. WrathOfAsgard 220753
36. HulkUnited 220694
37. CareBearStare 220663

In Season 5, we ended in 39th place:
38. wrecking crue 165542
39. HulkUnited 164560
40. Gods Of Sparta 164470

We're a quite social group, our chat window is never empty for long (maybe not so much during weekends, when real life gets the upper hand)

Now, about me - I started playing on day one, stopped playing a couple weeks later, started again in February and joined the alliance back in April, as a newbie with no maxed out 2 star heroes :)
It was a great ride so far, helping HulkUnited get from an 11-men crew to a fully fledged 20, maxing out Ares, OBW, Thor etc., then maxing out Punisher in Season 1, Lazy Thor in Season 2, Patch in Season 3, Sentry in Season 4, Hood in Season 5, Daken in Season 6, Magneto in Season 7, and definitely Xforce in Season 8. I have a bit of a collector bone, and got all the heroes, with 16 maxed out and 25 fully covered.

I'll let our other forum-browsing members introduce themselves.

  • I'd love this topic to become our go-to place for important messages - like going away for the weekend, rain flooding your basement, dog eating your modem cable etc icon_e_smile.gif
Forums are a safer place for these types of messages, given the 50 messages in-game chat limit.
Also, it's a lot easier to type long rants here icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Hi guys,

I am also a member of HulkUnited, along with my son we have been a part of the initial 5 man squad. I have seen our squad grow from strength to strength. We have always maintained a stance of play for fun and not too win, and you do play on a regular basis.

My roster consists of all characters except SheHulk (the finishing time did not agree with my work time), I enjoying the amount of char we have on our boards and that no one frustrated when a person says they are going away for a couple of days and won't be able to play, instead we wish them all the luck in the world.
  • Looking at the Punisher PVP results, it seems that the minimum required to stay top 100 these days is 12000 points.

    A bit of math:
    - if everybody plays, that's 12k / 20 = 600 points each
    - if one teammate goes missing, that's 12k / 19 = 631 points each
    - if two teammates go missing, that's 12k / 18 = 667 points each

However, not everybody can meet these quotas.
Still, in order to avoid a last-minute crunch at the end of the season, we should set up a few simple rules.

    a. Let the team know when you're not going to play in a particular event. Best way to do it is using this forum. In emergencies, at least use the In-game chat.
    b. Do your best to score as high as possible. 400 points should be doable by just playing a bit every day, and it's a score that doesn't tend to generate retaliations, so if you ask me that should be the very least each of us should do.
    c. If you miss an event, do your best to score as high as possible during the next event to balance our total Season 3 score. Wouldn't it be nice to finish the season in style, without any drama, and with a comfortable points cushion to boot? icon_e_smile.gif That won't happen without a bit of work.

Let me know what you think, guys. Cheers!
  • Hello everyone, new recruit here and just wanted to introduce myself. I look forward to helping out the team and supporting everyone getting better. Does the alliance just focus on PvP events? That's what I usually do so I am just curious if I need to didicate some time to PvE or not.

Also, I wanted to rant. Finally got around to cashing in my 10 pack from Season III and got 3 Invisible Woman covers...wah wah wah

Yes, we focus on pvp first, as scoring well in both pvp and pve is not feasible unless one takes MPQ as a full-time job icon_e_smile.gif
However, I'm grinding pve for ISO, and there are times when the pve covers are so grind-worthy we might decide to give it a try.

Congrats on your IW covers and good luck harvesting the gazillion ISO required to max her out icon_e_smile.gif
  • Anyone have any opinion/advice for the Modern Captain America? I have his covers maxed at 5/4/4 but have not invested any ISO as this forum is pretty negative about him for PvP. Any advice? I have 160k ISO.
  • Hello guys,

I have been a forum reader for quite some time, however, I have to admit that I registered to participate actively on this thread only!!

I am currently on the 2* - 3* transition and strictly F2P!! Kind of a crazy collector personality and have been saving HP to buy all the expensive roster slots!!! As of know i am only missing Bagman and some 1* covers so I should have HP to spare/use for shields.

I have been scoring above 600 points on every PvP event and expect my scores to go hire with my increasing roster level and shields. Currently stockpiling ISO (up to 170K). Waiting for maxed covered characters to dump it in.

Save up your ISO for three star heroes. I used the 2* Cap Am just for Prologue clean-up and for some PVE nodes.
Also, it seems the best thing atm is to just use your 2 star teams for as long as possible, hoarding ISO and covers until you can max up two 3 star heroes at once. That's around 350k ISO.

(later edit) Browsed your roster - max up Ares too, he's great. Sunder is quite overpowered.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I keep getting only green covers for Ares. Need just one more red to max him out.

Onslaught is pretty damn handy too.

As an extra bonus, Ares is an even better scarecrow with true healing than he was before. Because his abilities are cheap, there's a good chance he'll get one of them off while defending which can be enough to make people look for easier targets that aren't going to hurt them as much.
  • Manpiers didn't play during the last few days, but he's a solid contributor and I expect him to come back with a vengeance.

However, to avoid end of season disappointments, we should all step up our game and fare better in PVP.

Muz, can you try to score more than the average ~350 points you scored in the last three events, please? Your roster is way better than Tyler's, and yet he's catching up on you in the global Season 2 leaderboard.

BigCheese, good luck with your job hunt! Can you try to aim for at least 500 points this time? We're about 2000 points away from safety, and I know we didn't start simulator yet, but every bit helps and I'd rather have us run at a moderately sustained pace now than have to sprint our **** off in the last couple events icon_e_smile.gif

Five5, how is your MMR hell transition going? Is tanking working, at least a bit? Recently I've been having issues of my own, but I think it's also because I had to play during the very last hour of the event, while before that I reached 7-800 points with at least 8h before the deadline.
  • MMR Hell has not been kind. I am having to heal after every match which has slowed play time dramatically. Also seems like the AI has been a little cheap lately but that could be my imagination. Been playing every day and will continue to do so with the focus on PVP.
  • We had to take a hard decision - after discussing with the other commanders, we kicked Muz to make place for SG.
Muz was the very last of us in Season 3 despite having a decent roster, and he was trailing behind by some distance (averaged around 350 points in the last 3 events, while Tyler had over 500).
SG wanted to join as soon as possible to benefit from the PVE event (although we're not a top 100 PVE gang, 1500 ISO and 50 HP are nothing to sneer at) so we made this move before being able to explain Muz what's going on. SG helped us get back to top 100 again (we're 92nd right now).

Muz, if you read this, we're sorry for the short notice and we wish you the best of luck in finding a new home. Your PVE score might help you join a top 100 PVE alliance before the event ends.
(later edit) I sent you a PM, hope you get noticed via mail and you'll be able to act on it before the PVE event ends.
  • How many days should we wait before replacing an inactive teammate who didn't warn us before his leave?

How many days has it been so far? 4? 5?
  • DG85_ wrote:

Today is the 4th, I think. Of course it's a decision to be taken on a case per case basis, but I wanted to also have a general rule of thumb - something like "let's wait 5 days unless we're in immediate danger of dropping out of top 100".
  • We'll keep manpiers in until we find a proper replacement. Hopefully he just lost his phone or something similar and he'll be back in time to help us with the end of the season.

Also, I seize this opportunity to reiterate our simple rules:
    - if you know you won't play for a while, let the team know by posting here or in the in-game chat window
    - If you fail to do so, we'll probably start looking for a replacement after 5 days have passed, unless we're in danger of losing our top 100 ranking, in which case we'll try to replace you ASAP
    - Communication is key. Any real life issue / any gameplay issue you have, share it. We'll try to help.
    - Do your best to score as high as possible, minimum is 400 points but it's obvious we all need to contribute properly to rank in top 100 (20*400 = 8000 points aka top 500, not 100... icon_e_smile.gif )
    - If you miss an event, do you best to score high in the next event and balance your contribution. Scoring the minimum over and over again puts a strain on your teammates, is bad form, and will make you unpopular.

That's it, folks. Now let's trigger some cascades icon_e_smile.gif
  • looking to join an alliance.

season 3 score so far is 5491

  • I have seem some team members talk about their strategy including tanking and when to shield within the in-game chat, but I wanted to ask here since I'd rather type here. What strategy does everyone use? I am looking for how to improve my scores as I just got my second top 25 finish in a pvp event. I was 60 points away from top 10 but was afraid to unshield and push for fear of being hit and falling outside top 25 and getting the two covers. Also, why is it that I rarely find an opponent that will award me more than 30 points?
  • Hey old pals! It's been pretty hectic for me in the mpq world working with the xmen. I hope all it's well with u guys and hulk united. If u guys need help with anything, let me know. I'm an old member of hulk united for the newer members or members who do not remember me. I'm just a pm away. Good luck guys
