Adding this to the OP as well.
We've also finished up planning on a companion to this new change. This additional change will result in a reduction in time needed to naturally regen characters for most characters in the game.
Old Healing Rates-
- All characters regain 12 health/minute
- Wolverine and Daken regain 24 health per minute
New Healing Rates-
- 2* characters regain 18 health/minute (1.5x faster)
- 3* characters regain 24 health/minute (2x faster)
- 4* characters regain 30 health/minute (2.5x faster)
- Characters with significant regenerative powers: Wolverine, Daken, Spider-Man, Hulk, and She-Hulk regain health at double the rate.

While we've got you here, do you have any info on bug fixes or a possible landscape mode or any genuine improvements to the game? We're kind of under the impression that the devs have put a lot of thought into this change without making any progress on changes that are being requested.
Also, when are LRs starting?0 -

My opinion would be to have to wait no more than an hour for characters to be fully revived and playable again. Given how much emphasis the game puts on playing in the last 1-2 hours of an event, people would still need to save (or purchase) health packs for that time, and then could still play whenever they want during the day. I doubt they'll ever change it that much, but I think it would work better.0 -

IceIX,
To help with the diversification of rosters will you reimplement the PvE first match ISO bonus?
Also, any plans to increase number of health packs that regen?0 -

completely agree. Still not fast enough. And health packs, when all used, easy 2.5-3 hr regeneration time alone.0 -

I uh...
I don't get it. I'm a fairly new player, with 55 days played. I've made my 2* transition, and I'm trying to make my 3* transition. Unfortunately, due to the large amount of way too rare 3* covers, I can't. I have 32 roster spaces, five of which belong to my 2* roster:
85 OBW
85 Thor
85 Ares
85 CStorm
77 MNMags
2 slots go to my coveted 4* covers, a blue IW and a red Wolvie.
3 go to my 1* team, just cuz.
17 go towards trying to put together a 3* roster. None of my 3* characters have all three powers, so I can't pay to win, and not one of them has more than four covers. I have a full time job and social life, and have a hard time PvPing in the PvE events, and the PvP ones, I can only really compete on the weekend ones. In order for me to make progression, and feel like I'm maybe getting somewhere is to ensure that my team comes out of each PvP match at full health. I like miximg up my roster for a few fights here and there with the 2*s and sometimes 1*s I have, but at some point more often than not I will have OBW in my lineup so I can play the game.
I tend to do my healing IN the PvP or PvE(which is still PvP) matches, but as a new player, I'm at a huge disadvantage when trying to scrape together 3* characters. Right now, I don't even know if the 3* transition is possible, but to cripple the mechanic that makes me the least bit able to compete just seems insane.

Just did a little math with new rates for common 3* character health pools
5800 = 4hrs
8700= 6hrs
Helps hulk the most i think
9788 = 3.4hrs
This helps wouldn't mind a little faster ...0 -

For the second, I'd love to have more purchasable durables in the game personally. Comic Slots are about the only thing in the game currently.0 -

Interesting that only OBW was left off this list as not having "regenerative powers", even though earlier she was listed with She-Hulk and Spider-Man as those with "abilities are considered temporary healing"0 -

That's more in reference to a character's own canonical self-regenerative powers. I'm not terribly well versed in Black Widow canon, but I imagine she's very much human and exhibits typical human healing.0 -

There we go. Many players have been asking for something like this for months. It shouldn't take Hulk 13 hours to heal. Now it'll be more like 3 hours for Hulk.
Possible other characters in this league: Captain America, Bullseye, Ares, Venom, Juggernaut.0 -
It is interesting how this change is supposedly to encourage people to have deep and diversified rosters. I would love to use a deep and diversified roster. I have 2 characters over 100. Is this change going to force me back into using predominantly 2*s to progress? I understand the rationale but how am I not to look at this as a regression of the team I had been building. This kind of meta shift changes the whole landscape and it is not like we can flip a switch just use a different team of people when the covers are not there and acquisition of those covers seems like a much more challenging task than previously.0

1 - Cancel True Healing Initiative.
2 - Delete all posts relevant to true healing.
3 - Create a plaque on the developer wall in the lunch room at D3 that list it as the worst idea for 2014.
4 - Begin putting more time into fixing the useless characters.
5 - Profit (In a less greedy fashion).
If they fix the old characters, you will not need to buy covers for the new characters that are vast improvements over the old...
I actually don't agree with this since they have stated in the earlier posts that they want us to play all or more of the characters instead of just focusing on a select few.
To make this a reality you would need to fix the poor characters and then the healing becomes less of an issue.
Completing this would give the community the opportunity to play a nice mix of characters based on facing a particular match up.
Then you might begin to see some nice variation to who you would fight on defense based on players taking advantage of new strategies and combos.
This would be a very enjoyable improvement to the game all the while reducing the need of pouring out new characters and making bad changes like the True Healing Initiative.0 -

I thought she was on the Russian version of the super soldier serum that Cap is on so I would think she would get health regen boost along with Cap... I mean they are all super heros most of them probably fall into healing rates above human so lets just make them all 48 hp per hour.0 -

I'm busy trying to decide how much i think this balances it out....
For the purpose of players trying to play thier daily fix of MPQ in one go it does essentially nothing. They need the OBW healing and no changes to regen rates help at all.
For everyone else....
Hulk would heal from 1 health in 9787/48 = 203 minutes so about 3 hours 20 minutes. That is probably the kind of gap a fair few ppl would leave betwen play sessions (maybe 2:24 if they are PvE obsessed )
Modern Thor (or any high health non-hulky 3*) would heal from 1 health in 8699/24 = 362 minutes, so about 6 hours. Alright for ppl who play before and after work say but not much use to a larger section of people.
Human Torch (or any low health 3*) would heal from 1 health in 5074/24 = 211 minutes. so 3 and a half hours, same story as hulk.
Worth a note, Patch and Daken are looking at 2 hours to heal from 1 health.
As far as 2*s we're mostly interested in Thor and Ares.... and that's pretty much bang on 5 hours. Just too long IMO. The idea of using all your health packs, going away for a few hours then having to use 1 or 2 of them straight away to start playing leaving even less for this play session is not all that appealing IMO.
Also worth noting C.Storm: 2:28, MNM: 3:17 and OBW: 2:53.
Daken on the other hand is a spritely 1:20 but..... that's 2* Daken.... hard to get too excited.
If EVERY hero healed in 2 and a half hours that would be more impactful... or at least every 2* hero healed in 2 and a half hours. 3* players have more viable options IMO and can cope with injured guys better... plus they shield hop so don't need to fight so many matches in a fixed time.
No matter what you do to regeneration though the change will still HAMMER THE HELL out of once daily players (who I would imagine are likely to be 2* players given a smaller time commitment). I don't think it does enough (although it shows you're listening which i applaud).
I think the ideas listed by players would be a better bet, or at least could be trialed before the much more extreme true healing changes.0 -

D3 lost control of their moderators long ago. Threads calling out cheaters being stickied and others threads being left unlocked despite them being in complete violation of the board rules. A message board left to rot by its creators is bound to decend into chaos.0 -

Wouldn't it make more sense to be something like 2* takes a flat 1 hour to heal and 3* takes 2 hours or something along these lines? Whether these numbers are adequate or not, you still get these weird cases like Thor takes twice as long to heal as Storm for the same tier. Is there really a reason why their healing time should have such a big difference?0
