When I should have been taking advantage of the extra hour of sleep before coming into work today, I found myself lying in bed playing the Simulator story until 1 AM

You ought to post your roster in your sig.0

Just wait till you learn to play opimal...0

Pretty soon you'll be playing during your lunch break, during bathroom breaks, arriving to meetings late, missing deadlines, staying work late but playing the game, calling in sick to play, cancelling dates.. be careful young Brigby, this is a dangerous game0

You have our seal of approval!
see what i did there?0 -
I want to send you my roster so you would be playing until 1 AM just trying to clear the Agent Venom required character node.
Enjoy the honeymoon of easy scaling at the beginning of the game. If I can offer one piece of advice; don't open any legendary tokens, just hold on to them if you get them. A 5* character will mess up the scaling in your game at this early stage and depending on your roster even a 4* might throw things off a little bit. If I could go back in time I would not open any legendary tokens until I had several 3* characters championed.0 -
Is this where I go to get group support for my addition as well. I ashamed to say that I am spending about 3-4 hours a day on this game. My roster has improved quite a bit and I am swimming in HP. I had about 9500hp two days ago before rostering useless agent venom. I've never had this much hp before and this is actually helping to feed my addiction even more.0

As someone who runs a casual public alliance that gets a lot of newb's joining up with ruined rosters (like seriously, all of them do this), just don't roster anything higher than a 3*. The best way to make yourself feel like you've ruined everything is to go "Oh hey a level 70 4*, I bet that will be amazing for my roster of level 50 characters. I'll make some room for it by selling off this max-covered 1* that I have obviously just surpassed."
It won't be amazing.
Don't open tokens at all unless either they have no potential to give you an unrostered character you care about or else you have HP ready to spend on a slot.0 -

The worst part about playing on Steam, aside from the whole 3rd class citizen thing, is that it keeps track of how many hours the game is open (so roughly how much I've played).
Sure there's a lot of time the game is open and I'm not playing, but lord is that number way too high for 'only' day 1005.0 -
carrion pigeons wrote:don't roster anything higher than a 3*.
You really can't build your 3* roster without pulling a few 4* characters here and there. They are only level 70 so you should be able to roster them but not level them. Some of them make good meatshields for your 2* characters as well.
Oh yeah, Brigby. Play the Lightning Rounds! Speed up your 2* roster building. Join it right when it starts and beat all the seed teams.0 -
Also if you haven't done so you should look up guides on rankings of characters! They are currently working on a new one right now but the 1*, 2*, and 3* shouldn't have changed much (although doctor strange 3* is probably one of the best if not best 3* for story mode). You can check one out here viewtopic.php?f=14&t=40430.0

Disagree with the advice about 4*. Let's say you have some maxed 1*. Those will be at level 50. If we work under the assumption that scaling is based on something like the average of the top 3 characters in terms of level even if you add 3 4* to your roster your basis would only go from say 50 to 70. Dumping ISO into 4* is a bad idea if your roster is that low for sure but not rostering them is just stalling your later progress that much more. If you have 2* at reasonable level your scaling basis wouldn't be touched at all. And if you have champed 2* there's no reason not to level your 4* a little bit to keep pace with your champs, but I would only recommend this if they are top tier characters (wait for the new poll results as the old one is massively outdated since the 4* meta has changed a lot since February)
Now, the advice about not opening tokens until you have the HP to roster a character you don't have is something I think everyone but whales should keep in mind, whether you are day 10 or day 1000.0 -

I wasn't talking about scaling. I was talking about cannibalizing your roster to make room for new characters with highly limited use. I can't tell you how often I see someone with a roster consisting entirely of 3*s and 4*s and 5*s with 1 cover, and not one single character with all of their abilities.0 -

Bolded the part i was responding to. It is certainly a horrible idea to cannibalize characters that are maxed unless you have something better waiting. A one cover 4* is certainly not better than a max one star (possible exception of one cover Peggy or Starlord with yellow?).0 -
For reasons I find really hard to explain, I'm really growing to like this guy more and more as time passes. Have fun while the scaling lasts0

Pshaw. I warned my partner that I had clears to do in the late evening and then got her hooked.
Dates and MPQ both. That's how *I* roll.0 -

Probably true, but you don't have to roster them. Don't open LTs, don't spend CP on LTs. Play PvE and don't chose SCLs that give 4* in progression. You might occasionally get one from a vault, but that early in the game rostering them is a waste of HP, sell them until you're 3* game is more established.0
