PVP Meta Counter

Yeah, he is basically just a weaker / different option with all of the others that punish SAPs (Gorr, BlackKing etc.). I would love for them to buff him since most of the anti-SAP tech is in the 4star tier.
Page 1 Updates
I added the basically can't lose RiThor video. I used Chasm, but there are tons of good options for their 3rd: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/amvYiL6DCsAI also added the hell team to the Polaris, BRB, MThor section as they are probably the most braindead way of destroying that team (along with many many others): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UHyVOEmskOk
Added my favorite dirt cheap speed team to the pick 3 can't lose: MoonDragon4 w/ AI, Darkveil4 w/ Krakoa, Namor3 (ascended to 4 or 5) w/ Lucky: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/KfMA0RCdbkg
I added a note of risk for using Leapfrog to the supports section as well as the video.

All of these things are incredibly dependent on what you've got and what you're fighting, specifically what levels most of your guys are and what levels you're fighting against.Maybe everyone could include that information when asking here or posting advice/responses?
I second this and will add to it.
This thread is my fave lately and it reminds me why I've been playing this game pretty much daily for (gulp) over 10 years. There are so many different combinations of teams and supports depending on what strategy you want to employ. Everyone has combinations that work for them. I love hearing other people's best teams and discovering synergies I'd never thought of for some reason.
It can also be frustrating to put together a team based on a suggestion here and then get wiped on turn 2. So if you have a good idea, it might be helpful to new players or to casual players who might not have a strong roster to mention if you're talking about high level 550 chars. If you need a support, mention which level needs to be unlocked to get the benefit.
Likewise, if you can be arsed, it could be helpful to mention why a team works, and not just "x with y support + z with w support = winfinite on turn 0". A greater understanding of the mechanics will make the game more enjoyable!
With that said, keep the ideas coming

5* Jeff isn't a meta counter. I equipped him with R5 Leapfrog and it did nothing. I was hoping he would eat all the specials but it didn't work. I would recommend pairing him with nobody and ignoring him in your roster with + 2 don't use and + 1 don't bother . He is probably fine with Polaris.

Hahaha, I really want to find a home for Jeff now, though he will surely be carried by his partners.
While casually climbing yesterday I snagged a couple more videos for the counters on page 1
Added to Page 1
Agatha3 VS Juggersam - even when the RNGcopter slaps you in the face, she's chill: https://youtube.com/shorts/uzcSeAchhU0?si=-vN-B8c_6LQAkIyu
It should be noted that if you have LukeCage3 ascended to 5, your starting protect tile will destroy this team. As always, be sure to kill them before the reverse protect tile bug kicks in! Throw Agatha yellow to slow the bug down.Spidey 1 boosted again, so here is a way to kill that starting pink AP w/ Coocoos (Dark not necessary, though he can end that fight without draining the starting AP): https://youtube.com/shorts/Wl5_IMbJ73A?si=7BrwuXr1VP9eAmE_
- Just more options for killing this seemingly hated team. Thorlaris VS Multiman: https://youtube.com/shorts/F1Vr-sWKXJQ?si=ws1Tux-GnK8XpfSn

I think they sank a bunch of his power budget into the "eat Abyss tiles" thing, which was novel at the time but sorta never really worked, and now is totally worthless.
A bunch of the bad characters are attempts to give us a counter to some previous metagame, that never quite worked and then never got updated. 5* Yelena and Hela were both meant as counters for half-Thor.

Jeff was bad because his stuff too long to do and there was essentially no payoff.
Even when he came out he was bad.
The 3 is a bit better though.

ok ok, I could never justify giving Jeff precious ISO (actually, none of these characters are champed), but hear me out @DAZ0273!

Alright, I agree that if you want personal team suggestions it's dependent on what you have and what you're facing, BUT hearing about other successful teams (that you don't have) can give you a goal to champ/favorite those characters. So just because I don't have X character doesn't mean I can't get them in a reasonable amount of time. Anyway, my biggest challenge is pick 2 PVP, I'm not worried about Simulator. Since I think this info will be helpful to others, here's my situation:
I have 16 champed 5s (up to level 474) and no ascended 4s, but I'm not that limited as I have some key meta characters and supports. I'm also accustomed to using 2 AP boosts when needed and can frequently get stun team ups from my alliance. Here's a breakdown of match ups I see:
Juggs & Sam (levels < 500):
I skip if they have a 5-star Copter, otherwise I'll use Elektra & Electro (lvl 452) with Fantasticar, Sanctum & Eros. I put down yellow traps on turn 0, then match red / yellow or enemy strikes while targeting Sam. I put down yellow traps every turn (more the better) while Elektra steals half of their strikes. Sam is down in a couple turns, then I target Juggs. Usually I can stun him wiith Red, which finishes him. Sometimes I need a health pack afterwards, but sometimes not. The combination of things reduces most of the dmg, but so far, they have never lost. The bad thing about this team is defense, but I usually don't get retals from JuggSam teams. My other options? I don't have a champed Goose or Scarlet Witch or BRB or BSSM. I considered an Electro & Omega team by putting down as many Omega protect tiles as possible, but I was doubtful it would work well or fast enough. Is there a good 2 person team to just Stun lock Juggs? I don't think Crystal burst healing can keep up with the onslaught. Does MThor work to destroy all the strikes? I don't have her champed, but I could within a season. Can a mirror team of JuggSam do well? Maybe a 550 Spiderman + May team nuke 1 of them on turn 0? Maybe a Coulson & Riri team to stun lock them and take down Sam before they get a turn? Or just simply use Fantasticar and a Widow stun on your second turn?
I'm just brainstorming here but would like to know what other people do, especially if they have the support trio of Copter, Eros & Leapfrog. Maybe a list of most effective to least effective teams that can still get the win.

@bbigler what specifically about enemy Thanos Copter is causing problems with the team you're currently using? It seems like you figured out something that works for you otherwise.

I suppose it depends on your side goal (other than winning) what are you looking for?
- Do you want to leave a defensive team behind?
- Do you want to win with minimal damage taken (save health packs)?
- Win as quickly as possible?
There are multiple teams that can beat them, but they kinda have different side goals. If I just want to crush them and move on, I use Electro5 and Moonstone4 (many support options work). If I want to have fun, I will use Agatha3 (ascended4) w/ Karnak maaaybe BRB or Multiman and starting blue AP. Your best defensive bet would likely be Electro with someone like ascended Gorr or Blob (I don't have these done yet, so this is hypothesizing), maybe ascended Moondragon with iHulk.
More often than not, I would just crush them quickly and then switch to a better defensive team against someone not Juggernaut.
You could also try out Darkveil w/ Krakoa, Shang (or any boosted hero) w/ Fcar and start with 1-2 team up. Send Juggs away first, kill Sam and boom, easy street. I leave this team on defense often and still nets a lot of wins.
Not sure if you are keeping up with the first page, but here are videos of 2 of the teams mentioned who don't care about JuggerSam at all:
Darkveil4 w/ Krakoa, Shangchi5 w/ Fantasticar (start with 1-2 team up for riskier teams): https://youtube.com/shorts/xzCholZiMjU
Electro5, Moonstone4: https://youtube.com/shorts/5OmwPzmU7BI?feature=share

ElectricMoon is still open to a copter destroying on turn 1, but this has never happened to me and I kill many JuggerSams with it. It is also quite fast due to the Moon affiliation boost. It's nice not having to use healthpacks.
I am also adding your Electro Elektra team to page 1, as I don't think I put that one there yet. Thanks. Oh, and yes, Coulson4 and Riri can win also, but I think I personally like Multiman more? I'll try Riri again.

I'll offer a somewhat unorthodox choice, although he's going to need some help unless you get him very high level:
Its the passive part. The Copter version of that team will create a LOT of strikes, and if you've got some way to soak the damage (and potentially amplify Maximus) this passive can melt them while staying under the Leapfrog threshold.
Mine is 5*, lvl457.

Also, some folks might suggest May Parker, and she's pretty good, but if I'm bringing a defensive annoyance I'd rather have April (5*, lvl450):

I did notice the Variants person prioritized pushing April, Betsy and Maximus to 550. I imagine together with Betsy in front are quite excellent defensively. Though, there are probably roughly a total of 4 Aprils out there ascended to 5...

Oh, I wouldn't either. We want AAAALL known PVP tech, regardless of how many years it will take others to get there. Feel free to snag some videos too and we'll add em!
My roster has a 10 year plan, I'm sure everyone else has to have that too, right?

I added the turn 1 Agatha infinite to Page 1:
Agatha5 w/ any AP support, Beast4 w/ Krakoa, any character blue as strongest color w/ Refreshment Cart (do NOT use against the rare Dr. Strange or Sinister): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0F1IQxEMpV41 -

I tried taking them against a 550/550/550 Chasm/Sam/Juggernaut in sim, and they died pretty quick. Just not enough health, and the incoming damage ramps really fast.
However, I was able to get a pretty trivial win against the same team with 550 Colossus/Maximus/April, so there might be something there.

It seems like you figured out something that works for you otherwise.I've noticed that cascades are particularly deadly even with Elektra stealing half of the strikes. In those cases I may need 3 healthpacks to fight another battle. So, I'm afraid of the Copter because it increases the odds greatly of cascades. Part of my dilemma is that Electro-Elektra are easy targets for everyone else - but I guess I can simply solve that problem by switching teams afterward.

(includes against Chasm team damage teams)Excellent questions, I suppose I'm just trying to find a better team, one that can handle Copter cascades, which Electro-Elektra do a descent job. I will definitely try Electro & Moonstone! I really like Moonstone's winfinite, she just needs some power and Electro Thunderbolt affiliation sounds great. I haven't ascended Agatha yet, but she'll be on my radar - I currently pushing Aunt May to 370, then I'll ascend/level up 3Namor. Because I've been off and on with playing (but when I'm on, I play hardcore) I've missed characters over the years, like Multiman. Plus, I restarted my roster again in 2021. Nevertheless I can cover and champ any character within a season. Ascending characters takes longer, like 2-3 seasons, but still a "reasonable" amount of time. When I first heard about the JuggSam team with Copter (before it was popular), I realized it's great power and went to work developing it. My Sam and Copter are ready, but Juggs needs ascension, which I should be able to do in a month.
So here's my question to all those playing JuggSam - can this team beat anything? Or are there teams in PVP Pick-2 that you avoid?
On a side note, I'm very happy to see Electro making a comeback - she fell out of favor once iHulk left the meta, but she was one of the first characters I shard built from scratch with my new roster.
