This is somewhat conditional with boosts etc but in the current rounds I’m hitting him with boosted ascended Rocket, 5Mephisto and (basically any 5) and easily taking him out.

If I saw a GR99 with 3-4 May I might just use Chasm and a boosted 5 or something similar.

He’s not going to be a meta defense problem or anything, but could punch up on offense pretty well.

I do wonder about this. He's not going to be a problem on defense as a 4* -- you can basically oneshot him with match damage before he does anything (but you probably will need to do that).

As a 5* he's going to have enough health that you can't do that, and he's potentially going to be tanking too. I don't know if you'll want to use him while boosted, but I could see 450ish GR99 being a problem with the right teammates. It's just so much damage!

It will be interesting to see his ascended stats.

Are his powers (read: percentages) toned down to "pay for" the big increases in health (durability) and match dmg .... ?

    Surely they must be ....

His power is broken, it says if a character has more health than him do 18% damage

He got Jean to below his health and still did the same damage next turn

If that’s the intention then the wording for that purple power needs to be amended to “at the start of the fight if the opponent has more health then do % damage for the entire fight “

For me the problem is not that his powers are broken but the description is not precise enough, "if enemy is higher level" - ok, "enemy" is different than "target", but it wouldn't hurt if they instead of "enemy" wrote "any enemy". The same with the damage, there is only "he deals X% damage" - but only reading the forum, and seeing what he's doing in the game I understood it means "he deals X% (of max target health) damage" - wouldn't hurt to include that in the power description too IMO.
Description rant aside - I like this character and his powers as they are.

Who do you team him with?

I was using a variety including BRB, Phoenix, Apocalypse and Deadpool for a bunch of reasons - Apoc and BRB have synergy in producing shields and Strange powers up blue, Phoenix comes back from dead and Deadpool can punish his damage with black and stun on red.

I tried Apocalypse, Jean Grey, and Jubilee since she also resurrects in one of his nodes in the PvE. One GR2099 Saw and Claw and a lovely cascade later, my LVL 490 Apoc was down (113K damage) and Jean Grey was at about 28K. Jubilee died once, but came back and ended the match with "Game Over" when she had about 13K health left over.

No question this was probably the toughest boss event mostly due to GR2099, likewise he downed my BRB with 115k health before I could kill him and it was close. Super Deadpool also hit me with two Penance Fares which downed a couple and even Johnny Blaze hit me with his black which downed someone! Long time since I lost this many characters in a Boss battle that wasn't my own fault!

Now, I am wondering if the % dmg is based on the character who is highest in health (and has health above him). We really don't know. I wish we could test different teams against him.

The event is over now, but in the instance you still don't like fighting him, consider:

    • Revivers - they like taking damage
    • Dark Veil - send em away
    • Spider May (perhaps counter characters like Switch) - dodge or send back that damage
    • Agatha5 and Prof5 - go infinite on turn one like 80% of the time with Krakoa

I think he has an awesome kit and will be looking for an offensive team for him soon (something like the god awful Shevenom has a friend in ignoring her match damage, but she is still probably too bad).

    ... since 2015, perhaps. Ultron 1.0 and Galactus 1.0 weren't kidding around :D

I missed those but I have read about the player base whining!

First runs of Sinister 6 were VERY hard for players who couldn't damage Sandman or deal with Carnage getting extra turns on rounds 7 and 8.

Ironically this Boss event was made for player with lesser rosters. Anyone in 4 star land or under wasn't affected at all by 2099 because his passive didn't trigger.

Sinister Six is my favourite coz of double points! Doc Ock caused some problems too.
