Do active nukes like this really matter in the current meta? Passive damage and hyper damage like SC (who can reliably do 100k+ for 1-3ap) are the the standard nowadays. So it seems to me that if Kang is going to join the meta it will because of his away and Cd/ap passives.

If I got it correctly, you can only have one of those black CDs out, so each time you use the power when one is out it increases the CD.

...sort of? I'd argue that this particular active nuke matters quite a bit on this particular character.
Here's the thing -- Kang's blue isn't actually "9ap: kill one guy," but it might as well be. Every fight in this game is very simple, you win when you eliminate all 3 enemies. Kang blue eliminates one enemy, as long as you can kill all the others within 4 turns.
Take a typical pvp opponent -- 3* at max + 550 chasm + 400something Hulk. I bring Kang and literally anyone, and send Chasm away. Now I've got 4 turns to kill the 3* (who's probably at half health from match damage) and Hulk (who will be killing himself slowly via his self damage).
In that situation, having a huge 6ap nuke is very valuable, because it probably oneshots either guy.

Hopefully this is their last unsuccessful try at a Chasm counter. Chasm probably won't have much of a problem beating him, so I don't see him pushing Chasm out of the metagame.
Since Chasm’s release…
Silver Surfer- He already negates stun. Let’s rework him so he has a power that insta-downs and doesn’t allow insta-revive as well. (Chasm still reigns supreme)
Thor- The most brokenist board shaker ever released. Maybe the massive AP gains will help offset Chasm. (Didn’t put a dent in him)
Riri Williams- It’s fine, let’s give Jane a partner who has cheap powers to offset the AP drain AND can stunlock Chasm. (Sorry, but no dice)
Hit Monkey- Okay, no more playing around. This one is only 7 AP, deals big damage, an extra 35% damage to Chasms, drops them if below 15% health, and kills him for good if downed. (Yeah, no)
Wong- Let’s just invent a new status in the game to take care of Chasm. Send Chasm “Away” and Hulk won’t revive without his partner there. (Lol)
Kang- Finally someone who counters ONE thing Chasm does PASSIVELY. Will this finally be enough to end the reign of terror (since you know… he does all the other things unchecked), or will lucky counter #7 be the one! (Tune in next month!)
C’mon devs. I’m sure you’re tired of constantly having to shoehorn Chasm counters into every character that’s on your docket for (looks at calendar) half a freaking year (geez). Just nerf the guy, watch the forums burn (or is it just Hound?) and move on.

My comment got moved to the nerf Chasm thread. I don't think I'm an advocate of Chasm's nerf. As a matter of fact, I'm pro-counter and anti-nerf.
His abilities are obviously designed to counter Chasm.

Well, finally the hard counter restoring any AP drained. Good! Finally MPQ can be a collecting AP game once more, every time you bring khan, nothing will prevent him from gaining blue except blue voids. Only characters like BRB, r4g , wong etc... will be nerfed by chasm.
The last attempt for the devs to not harm chasm!
The 3* version restores AP too but obviously will break facing Ihulk.
Without a doubt khang has superior powers! And Mthor can destroy his away cd but he will gain blue.
So khang could be vulnerable to Mthor but
not really much.
I think it's a great villain developing cd meta and away, and countering chasm and sending away is the reason for his existence.0 -
