You got the rewards of playing in all of those PvP while your alliance mate played in maybe 2 or 3 (or maybe a few more if he's really new and only getting like 500 max per PvP). You also got the 10-pack progression reward as well as some extra iso and HP he did not attain from only getting 3000 points. I know this doesn't directly address your complaint, but in the end, all you really missed out on was a bunch of bagmen and maybe 1 or 2 3* covers that are unlikely to be useful to you.
So are you from socialist France, a democrat or just myopic? "It's a game" is the battle cry of a generation of moms that have frustrated little kids who throw controllers. Yeah, it's a game, we get it. Guess what, this is a forum that the game's publisher reads (in theory) and games can be revised to work better!
My example was an extreme one. We also had a guy in my alliance who got 7000 and placed 24th, so he also got 20 heroic tokens. Whether or not they were all bag men, moonstone and mawkeyes is beside the point. It's also not like either of these players came in late and started nailing out 1000 point PvP events, because they didn't. They just got good brackets. I understand that it's largely a competition, but competitions don't generally reward people extra for showing up late and putting in less effort. Sure, give the newcomers something to compete for, but scale the rewards to account for the differences.
Based on your own argument, I should be placed in brackets with people my own level, not a bunch of people with 141 level guys (my highest level toons are 85)... not be compelled to wait to start playing the season later so I can hope to join with a bunch of newbies.
Like mohio said, because you joined the season earlier, you got covers, iso, and HP from all the events you competed in, which is almost certainly worth much, much more than the 15 "extra" heroics the late joiner got. Just because they got more prize in their season bracket doesn't mean that overall, you weren't rewarded for putting in more effort.0 -

I'm not going to comment on the content of your post, whether to agree or disagree with it, but I'm just going to point out that the vast majority of people here aren't going to even read what you write when you start it off with name-calling, political or otherwise. Please keep things civil, and remember that good / bad ideas aren't isolated to political affiliation or nationality.0 -
The server should prevent 2 people login in the game at the same time with the same account(which is possible on steam). Is that something you plan to implement? Currently, there are huge exploits related to people being able to do that.0

You can see i spent some real cash to build my roster (some would call that cheating as well, but I joined this game late and wanted to compete) and if someone cheats...
I have this guy in my patch bracket. Just saw him gain 500 points in about 10 minutes.0 -

He just added 200 more points in the time it took me to type this!0 -
Watercat is tempting me to have my Steam account sandboxed!0

Remember to report him to CS as a suspected cheater as per that forum post... I reported him yesterday because of what he was doing in the previous PvP 8)0 -
Last PvP, I was getting hammered by 85's. I don't know if they were cheaters or just burning through an unreasonable amount of boosts, but I found it highly suspicious since I never made it past 700 due to constantly getting hit. There was clearly something going on because normally I can't imagine them picking a fight with near max 3-stars when there should be plenty of fellow L85's for them in that point range.
Normally, picking a fight with substantially higher levels entails the A.I.'s getting a ton of friendly cascades and wiping you with match damage and/or powers, at least from my recollection of 2-star land.0 -
@locked No worries - not going to cheat but the CS team slow response to a reported (alleged) cheater is harming the game.
I've played a MMO where a guild was obviously using hacks, from 1HKO to speed hacks. My guild members and I of course reported them, along with screenshots. Other guilds who saw the same thing did so to. There was no response from CS at all, and there are other players who defended the top guild as they reasoned it could be due to server lag. Right... a server lag which benefited only one guild and not the others. And not just once.
Later I found out that the guild members were real life friends of people working at the publisher company. They go out for drinks together. So it makes sense that this guild is "untouchable".
D3's slow action or inaction will drive those jaded individuals to seek out cheats and hacks. It's not they want to, but seeing people like Watercat cruising along easily while they struggle makes them think more about it. Watercat might not be cheating afterall - he/she could be exploiting serious server issues. Again the responsibility is back to D3 to correct this if this was the case.0 -

****, there is no legitimate way to do this. I run both steam and IOS and it logs you out. If somehow some is able to do that then they are cheating which is a differnt matter entirely.0 -
Hi IceX, was wondering if the rewards system for PvP would be changed? Right now the 3*** covers are for the TOP 50 placements. How about instead of giving 50 to 200 placements 2** covers that some already have. You reward them with 2** recruit tokens instead. Giving them tokens instead gives them a chance to at *** covers. You could make it 50 to 100 placements then 101 to 200 placements fix 2** covers.
A change of the rewards system would to nice.
And another thing, would u guys consider increasing the drop rate % chance for customers buying 10 or 40 pages covers on the featured character. The current 6.2% drop-rate is not good enough. 10% would be nice. I remember paying for 10 pack HOTSHOT. and got ZERO human torch and a bunch of 2**. I was really disappointed with the game that time. not good.
Please at least consider it.0 -
ZenBrillig wrote:What's the long range plan for dealing with the increasing number of characters? Clearly you can't stop adding characters, because that's what keeps people stuck to the game, but at the same point, it becomes increasingly difficult for new players to win enough covers of a single character to make it viable.
A very valid point. Keep adding new characters is going to create new problems. You gotta stop at some point.0 -
