My impressions alway been two for movie as tie-in. The tie-in should occur within two weeks of the movie release unless there's some special circumstances. Anything further than that is probably a bonus.

They used to do tie-in's linked also to the DVD release - Okoye was this for Blank Panther. Obviously DVD's have become somewhat obsolete so they seem to have stopped doing that.
GotG2 definitely had 3 releases - Gamora, Star-Lord and R4G all have the "Awesome Mix Volume 2" tag and Star-Lord was released for the GotG2 PvE - I believe in the very first run of it there was a node which could only be accessed if you had 5SL which lead to some complaints about "pay to win". In fact I guess GotG2 had 4 releases as we also got 3SL at the same time.
Edit: Civil War also had 4 releases - the never again repeated duel release of 5* Cap and IM with their 30CP stores and then Winter Soldier & War Machine.

Doctor Strange only got one (two almost identical versions of the same character, really). Far From Home got Mysterio. Shang-Chi got himself. The shows basically never had more than one at a time (except for the 3* Elektra / 5* Daredevil combo).

Didn't Dr Strange also get Mordo? Or was he released too long afterwards to be considered a tie-in?
The problem now is that so many characters in the game already have 3/4/5 versions that when they do another Spidey movie there really isn't a new character to release unless the movie features a new villain which this one does not.

    5* Zendaya incoming!

Power A: Spidey’s weakness: PASSIVE: any villains on the enemy team will always target Zendaya over any active Spider-Man on the team

Power B: Damsel in distress: PASSIVE: all spider-man characters have match and power damage boosted 100% while Zendaya is < 50% health

Power C: Call in the squad: when the trouble hits, Zendaya calls in The Squad. Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Ellie Goulding blast the enemy team’s eardrums for xxx damage

Kinda circles back to my first question, what counts as a tie-in?

Mordo didn't come out for the theatrical release, but DID come out for the home release (Blu-Ray/DVD, usually released a week or two apart, so sometimes we'd get a character for one of them, sometimes it would fall between the Blu-Ray and DVD). Mordo, Yondu, and Okoye all fit that bill. They were kinda like the "second wave" of tie-ins.

But then we also have characters like Mantis, Loki, Hela, and Killmonger, who are all obvius MCU characters, but didn't fit either of the standard "tie-in" release windows.

And yeah, they could have gone with another Spidey, could have arguably done a 4* and a 5*, released a Friendly Neighborhood Spidey and Amazing Spidey, let us use them alongside the existing MCU Spideys. Instead they just went for a semi-related comic character for the 5, and we got Big Wheel.

We will open a fresh What's New thread at the start of every month, and it will be updated on Mondays of every week.

Is there no update this week due to the holidays? Or is it just another late update?

Here's a thought: if the weekly updates for the following seven days are frequently going to be late, why not have weekly updates containing the information for the following nine days instead? Then for the couple of times each month the update is late, it's not a big deal. (This is assuming the game is planned out at least nine days in advance!
    ;) )

I'm guessing 1/3, when most of the game industry gets back to the office after winter break.

Oh my gosh I might have to play next week like I did for the first 2.5 years before I started reading the forum. ( And like 90% of my alliance still does )

“Half-mutant…” half carbonadium synthesizer. It’s so obvious. Omega Red confirmed.

    This one is difficult. Even
Thor is considered half Mutant. Namor too.

I googled around and Megan Gwynn (Pixie), followed by Luna Maximoff popped up. There's nothing in Marvel youtube, so it's probably someone random. I'll go with Pixie since she's at the top of the page.

    Half-mutant..."

    …which half?

Some threads to explore, but ultimately I've got nothing that seems likely. Namor makes sense, but we've got him already. And Namora... doesn't seem a likely 5.

Namorita would have been in the New Warriors show, but that was cancelled

    Half of "mutant" is "ant".

    5* Antman (Hank Pym)?

    Or 5* Ant & Dec.
