4-Star Teaser: "Will not die a monster..."

It reminds me of the exchange between Batman and Harvey Dent, where Harvey Dent was the nice guy, and Batman, the monster.

I assume it's going to be a Spider-man tie-in, so I'll settle with Dr Ock.

    What's a "Batman"?
Sort of like a Man-Bat but more human, less lycanthrope.

Batman is a comic book character, like Spiderman or whatever.  I can't imagine being so into comic books that you know all the little differences between the companies that make them, how could you ever keep track of it all?

It's like the people who get upset and try to explain all the differences between Star Wars and Star Trek!  It's all space ships and lasers, right?  Same thing.

Is it sort of like the popular Marvel character Nighthawk? Or also The Shroud?!?!? I wonder if Marvel are aware of this character who seems hugely derivative. I think their legal department need to look into this one.

I haven't heard of these other characters, but I'm really only familiar with Batman because George Clooney played him in a movie once.

It must have been early in George Clooney's career - I am sure he would not accept such a D list role these days. ☺️

No good actor would accept batman.
All of them are practicing laughs in front the mirror for to ask the joker role.

If it is Doc Ock, and the feeder trend continues, Electro seems like a pretty obvious candidate, right?

That would make the most sense, so he'll probably feed Magneto.

Pretty certain I know who the next character will be having seen No Way Home.

I’m wondering who the next 5* will be as it’s bound to be from the movie too

I can't see any of them making sense as a 5* because everybody on the movie has either a 4* or 5* version already in the game. I guess one of the characters that only has a 4* version could be possible.... just seems like too many characters not already in the game to be making different versions that way. Unless it is done just for promotional purposes.
We did just get Big Wheel as a 5* character. So forget everything above.

Is Big Wheel part of of the tie-in? There's typically two tie-ins per movie. End Game and Infinity War were special and they got more than that.

Black Panther got 3 (eventually 4).  Shang chi is the only one with 1 character in the game.

Did all three get released one after another consecutively?

It all kinda depends on what you mean by "tie-in." Homecoming had four (Sandman, Doc Ock, Vulture, Spider-Man), but only two were MCU characters. All four were part of the "Summer of Spidey" for the movie's release. Big Wheel could fit that for this film, thematically appropriate, tied to the star character, if not from the MCU directly.

Doctor Strange only got one (two almost identical versions of the same character, really). Far From Home got Mysterio. Shang-Chi got himself. The shows basically never had more than one at a time (except for the 3* Elektra / 5* Daredevil combo).

The real question is "If 4-star Doc Ock is the first, who is the 5*?" Looking at that, the limited options, and how hard Sony tried to keep quiet some of the possible characters (nevermind that it was a horribly kept secret, Sony kept them out of marketing, which I imagine would limit MPQ's ability to get approval, at least for a tie-in this close to the film's release).

What little info we have on hand makes me think that's all we're getting for now. Because it's basically limited to Spidey (I think a Red/Black costume for the 5* we have makes more sense), Doctor Strange, and Wong. And I think a 4-star Strange and 5-star Wong makes more sense when their next film comes out (and they may not even be the best choices even then, given the rumors of what's going on in THAT film).

More Spidey tie-ins eventually, I'm sure. Just not now.

Spider-Man:Far From Home got just one being Mysterio? We also got a Boss Event and a costume though.
Also GotG2 got 3 (5* SL, R4G and Gamora) and eventually I guess Drax and Mantis.
