Hey,  guys,  just thought I'd drop in to see what's going on.   Has the game changed much?  Is Okoye/ hulk still the team to beat?

The biggest change is that 4 different 5*s every week get boosted +125 levels in PvP and PvE.

If you've got the same roster you had when you left, you'll probably have a pretty good time!

"Steel Witch" consisting of 5* Colossus and 5* Scarlet Witch, who have both been released within the past year.

They've added a puzzle gauntlet for getting 3star (or 4 or 5star specific supports if lucky) supports. I don't think that was around a year ago

Milestones and daily quests have been introduced so you can expect a whole lot of new rewards from those.

That would be cool...I didn't rage delete all my roster,  but I got pretty burned out with the daily pve grind.   I'm kind of liking my nights free to play with my kids.   I bet having the massive 5 star boost makes pve easier,  but still probably takes like 45 to 60 minutes.  I don't think I miss the game so much as I miss the line comradery.  If they would have just made pve not so time essential,  I'd probably still be playing.   I'll keep checking in,  maybe I'll come back if things change.   I still have like 2400 pulls saved up when I left... lol.   Instant respectability with 3 latest 5 stars straight to 550.  Also,  just got my z fold 3 and would have loved to see the tiles on my mini tablet with fast processor, so that I'm not waiting forever for the visuals to get through.

If you aren't playing pve competitively, timing isn't a problem. This is not 2015 where there's an 8 hour refresh. You need to clear only 3 times to get full progression.  I finish 3 clears of SCL 10 in about ~30 minutes. So, I'm not sure why it took you 45-60 minutes. Probably you aren't using meta teams to play?

Anyway, you can split your 45-60 minutes over a 24 hour periods. If you play competitively, then it's another set of problem.

That’s amazing as 3 clears of SCL 10 takes me 2 hours. ( 1 hour this week only because of Okoye boosted ).

I played everything competitive.   Pvp was always to 5, pve was always trying for top 5 to 10.  Since you have to do end grind and then immediately beginning grind  it takes about 45 to 60 minutes... or longer.  With weekly boosts,  you probably go a little faster.   I think I still have my roster saved on here,  so you can see what I was playing with.

That's about right: ~60 minutes of clears and grinds. Unfortunately, it's not going to change. It will require overhauling the entire 16-17 story events.

Assuming they do it in the future, like removing placement rewards, and turning them into Puzzle Gauntlet or Introducing... Events format, they are not going to distribute T1, T5 or T10 rewards into progression rewards. Even if they do, they are going to drastically reduce rewards in other areas. In the end, it will still be a net "loss" for the players.

I guess you are going to be out for another year or more.

Depending when you left, you may not realize that CL10 PVE is now 3+2 for optimal play, no longer 4+3.
They changed that last Nov/December, or so.
It definitely reduces the clear/grind times. Points were increased accordingly, as well. So when I want to play lazy for progression only, it's still VERY manageable on whatever time schedule I want.

Hey Riddle, not enough has changed to bring you back most likely. That sounds long for CL10 though, 20 minutes on both sides but the locked in time is still there.

Yeah, my time is about 30-40 min a day, depending on the PvE, and who's boosted.  OKOYE boosted has made it even quicker, but everything needs to be measured appropriately, as I only have baby Champs (all my champed 5s are 450-462).

If you got better, you'll go faster for sure.

That said, I always play during downtime at work (I try to avoid doing the grind at home... only just for streaming).  The weekend, well... I just fit in a match here, there, etc.

They also changed the way a lot of things look, including the board itself.

I left after the 3+2 was initiated,  but before the weekly boost.   My biggest issue with pve was the timing.   S4 was the only time that worked and it was becoming prime kiddo time as they are getting to that age when they want to do things with me.   I guess I could become casual,  but I know it's not in me to not be competitive.  Also,  I couldn't have a life because I had to plan around the grind to do anything. I guess for me,  it's a good thing retiring.   I'll keep checking in to see if pve exert changes.   I wish new content was more than the shiny new bauble 5 star that you will probably never use.

I tried playing CL10 competitively and I couldn't do it.  The rewards just weren't worth the effort I was putting in to get them.  Also I absolutely refuse to do the stopwatch/spreadsheet nonsense that's required now.

I just do x4 in CL10 throughout the day, and honestly I haven't really noticed the decrease in rewards.  CL10 progression is really good.

For new characters I drop down to CL9 and compete -- I can handle 12-15 totally mindless minutes on either side (2 moves, court death, game over).  I still lose to a select few of the spreadsheet people in CL9 but I'm fast enough to beat most of them.

Yeah,  I probably should have done that too, but we were just a different breed.   I kept believing that those 5 star latest tokens were worth it... lol.

Nobody is playing PvE competitively for fun, you're doing it for the rewards.  As long as you're not morally opposed to spending, you can convert the rewards to cash and see if they're worth your time.

Do the math: they sell Latest tokens for about $10 in special deals, or $17 if you buy CP in a buyclub.

If you place in PvE you get 2LTs (one from alliance), which is $34 of value at most.  How much time (and aggravation) does it take you to get that, and what's your time (and aggravation) worth?

If it's 3 days for an hour a day, you're saying your time is worth a little over $11.33/hr.  I bet your rate is just a *bit* more than that (mine is).

Game is still as grindy as ever.
Until they fully move away from the time based aspect it's still MarvelSpeedOccasionallyPuzzleAspectQuest... but that wouldn't make money.
