New Minion Group: A.I.M. Scientists

Who ever would have thought that a bunch of folks in beekeeper outfits would prove to be such a nuisance? Especially when guided by the super intelligence of M.O.D.O.K., they can be quite the buzzkill. These foes draped in yellow bring their super science to Marvel Puzzle Quest to provide new puzzling challenges. Behold, the A.I.M. SCIENTISTS!

You’re probably interested in what these stylish guys, gals, and mecha monstrosities can do, and we A.I.M. to please! There are four types of new enemies to pit your heroes and villains against, and these scientists have all-new tricks up their lab coat sleeves.

A.I.M. M.E.C.H.A.
Mechanical Engineer with Cybernetic-Human Augmentation

M.E.C.H.A. are A.I.M. employees that have decided that they aren’t happy being purely human. Under guidance of other scientists, they’ve augmented their bodies with cybernetic extensions and installed themselves into a multifunctional exoskeleton to further their work. These are the heavy hitters of the A.I.M. corps, in-so-much as a group such as this fights directly. Along with direct attacks, they also bring Automatons to battle that hunt down your special tiles, destroying them along with anything else nearby!

Automaton - 6 Black AP

There’s always room for killer robots. Convert a basic Black tile into a Black Automaton tile, which is a 1-turn Black Repeater tile that swaps places with an adjacent tile, preferentially moving toward enemy Attack, Strike, or Protect tiles. When an Automaton tile swaps with any Attack, Strike, Protect, or Charged tile, it destroys a 3x3 block around itself and deals low damage. (Destroyed tiles do not generate AP or deal additional damage.)

(PASSIVE) At the start of battle, create one Automaton tile.

Mechanical Assault - 5 Blue AP

Uses a mechanical exoskeleton to create a 4-turn Countdown tile that deals low damage every turn. When it expires, deal moderate damage to the target and less moderate damage to a random ally.

Unintended Consequences - Green PASSIVE

(PASSIVE) Sometimes the data yields surprising results. At the start of the turn, any friendly Repeater tile adjacent to another friendly Repeater converts into a Charged tile and deals high damage to one random enemy.

A.I.M. F.O.R.C.E.
Frontline Operative for Radiation and Chemical Engineering

A.I.M. F.O.R.C.E. operatives specialize in keeping their opponents off balance, using their chemical weapons to make sure that no one can build themselves into a position of power. Meanwhile, they use more offensive chemicals and experimental concoctions to take down opponents while making sure they stay at tip top health themselves. They may seem more subdued than other enemies, but don't take them for granted!

Siphon - Purple PASSIVE

(PASSIVE) If there are 3 or more Strike, Attack, or Protect tiles on the board at the start of the turn, AIM technology shapes the environment by destroying all Protect, Strike, or Attack tiles in the rightmost column and swapping all Attack, Protect, or Strike tiles with the tile 1 space to the right. (Destroyed tiles do not generate AP.)

Strange Matter Spray - 5 Yellow AP

The power of science creates a 3-Turn Blue Countdown tile that deals low damage every turn. When it expires, it heals A.I.M. F.O.R.C.E. for moderate health.

A.I.M. M.E.D.T.E.C.H.
Medical Emergency Diagnostician / Termination and Exsanguination Coordinator Hybrid

What would a group of amoral scientists be without doctors to help them with their experiments? A.I.M. M.E.D.T.E.C.H.s provide this service, and they’re also fully capable of stopping any hero who may want to shut down their forays into the bleeding (often literally) edge of science and “medicine”. With their low cost abilities, they will be creating tiles on a constant basis, creating a difficult decision of whether to take them out now to get rid of their tiles, or face down a more directly damaging foe while the M.E.D.T.E.C.H.s keep up the pressure.

Aim for the Heart - 4 Red AP

The A.I.M. M.E.D.T.E.C.H. traded the Hippocratic Oath for the hypodermic oath. Creates a 5-turn Red Countdown tile which deals low damage to the targeted opponent every turn. Only one Aim for the Heart tile for this A.I.M. M.E.D.T.E.C.H. may be on the board at once.

Bioreactive Catalyst - 3 Blue AP

The compound in the battlefield syringe-gun reduces the power of a random enemy Strike, Attack, or Protect tile by a moderate amount (to a minimum of 1.) If there are no enemy Strike, Attack, or Protect tiles with power above 1 on the board, heal the teammate with the least health for a low amount.

A.I.M. S.P.L.I.C.E.R.
Specialist for Proprietary Lifeforms and Interspecies Chromosomal Experimentation and Realignment

S.P.L.I.C.E.R.s bring the ability to create Genetic Monstrosities (they call them Constructs, but we know better) and a supporting role in being able to deal damage while reducing friendly Repeater tiles IMMEDIATELY to zero, setting them off. With some repeaters, no big deal. With others, this can mean that Splicers can start chain reactions of destruction if not handled ASAP.

Electromagnetic Prod - 4 Red AP

A strong ionic differential can be a powerful motivator. Immediately reduce the counter on a friendly Repeater tile to 0 and deal moderate damage.

Unleash Experiment - Blue PASSIVE

A rampage… for science! If one does not exist at the start of the turn, convert a basic Blue tile into a Genetic Construct, a Blue Repeater tile that swaps places with a random adjacent basic tile every 1 turn and converts that tile into a Charged tile or a low strength friendly Attack, Strike, or Protect tile. If the Genetic Construct cannot swap places, it deals low damage to all allies and enemies.

A.I.M. H.I.G.H.

To best introduce this new group of foes, We’re going to try something a little different with this release. To introduce this group, we’re going to be providing you with a new non-competitive daily unlock event where you’ll face off against different varieties of them in missions that highlight their abilities separately and together. After this event, You’ll be seeing these new enemies filtering into other events going forward. Look out for A.I.M. H.I.G.H. soon, and we look forward to you being able to take on, and take down, these new threats to S.H.I.E.L.D.!

As always, we look forward to your feedback! Fight this new group, let us know what you think!

I love it! We have tools but we needed new foes! If they filter into existing pve events they will change into new challenges!
I love the design of these guys and his names and his abilities names lol.
    Pretty original their robotic atacks.
Without a doubt this is what I have been waiting for use those new powerful characters.
Thumbs up for me for now.
Then we will be informing on time.

Interesting. Love some new content. Have to wait for the event to see how they will be to play against, though.

So they’re basically anti -BRB and Gritty?  Meaning 90% of players will have to use different characters, I love that .

Actually, some of them might make BRB viable vs goons whereas usually he’s not the best choice. Doing dmg that triggers his Clash CD and destroying protects (AP gen) will help him quite a bit. Rocket is going to suffer, though.

    People use BRB in PvE?
I'm all for new content. Please don't let them be slow, though.

Some very cool concepts there! That Siphon passive hints at a whole new variety of board control options. Some of that for a 5* Magneto, maybe? I'm happy to see another group of Minions added, and even more so that it's AIM. Interesting to see a group of Minions with rainbow coverage. I look forward to figuring out how to trounce them!

Am I missing why I shouldn't?  When there are three tile movers in SCL10 PVE, it's slow but I can really on BRB/Kitty to at least win the match for me and not eat up health packs.  If I am missing something else, I am all ears and glad to try it.

I laud and applaud new villain minion groups.  The game need them sorely.  Powers are interesting too - these jerks are gonna be trouble for many established combinations and strategies.

Hoping we seem some AIM related villains to fight, too.  They created enough of them.

Also hoping we see more factions come about to fight.  How about Hydra?  Hulkbusters under Ross? Shi'ar empire with the Imperial Guard and Gladiator?

There is no reason not to use BRB in PVE except that he is rarely the best option.
BRB is a solid third for thorkoye when underleveled (his green is actually better than Thor's against fewer than 3 opponents), but he isn't as good as 2099 or sabretooth (against strike tile spammers) or gamora/ice (when you need better stuns than 2099's).  And BRBitty or (I think) BRB/Apoc is death to placement because they are slow to get going. speed is still essential for optimal placement, and protect-tile reliant strategies are not terribly effective against level 650 opponents.
Plus, for those few nodes that are so hard that speed is less of a consideration than just winning 4-7 matches, a baby-champ BRB isn't really up to snuff.  level 650 carnage or gritty is easily doing 30-50k per turn by the second round.  maybe a 550 BR + a good tile booster than soak up that kind of damage, but may 0.05% of rosters have such a thing. Which is why so many players are relying on stunlock/gimmick teams like HE/Gamora/Coulson, or Kitty/Valk/Iceman.  BRB doesn't really have a place on those teams because they rely on minimizing enemy turns, whereas BRB's value is in tanking enemy damage while punishing them for every move with more protect tiles/ap-gen.

I'm nervous about the powers that don't seem tied to countdown tiles,
And the countdown tiles that do damage every turn....
But still *mostly* excited about new baddies to fight!

    RIP Juggernaut/R4G.  :D

    Mecha = Legion's green repeater + Sabretooth's passive
Force = Inverted Galactus's passive power
Medtech = Kraven's passive on one of your SAP tile
Splicer = reduces repeater zero and partial Imaginaut
The last three have healing too.

4* Emma Frost, Black Panther, Nebula, Mr Fantastic and 5* Loki, Kingpin, Captain Marvel, Gambit, Apocalypse, Dr Ock would love to team up with Splicer.

I would like to recruit Splicer too. :D

So here we have a major change on pve foes update and before playing it there are people already complaining.
An applause for the community! After all we all know that is a lot funnier fighting dark avengers another million times.

Brb, kitty, apocalypse have gotten me through many scl 10 challenge nodes.  As long as you can survive the first several turns, even at lvl 600 the enemies will be doing -1 hp on match dmg. Then you just need to deny ap for any nukes.

And with apocolypse yellow boosting damage it's much faster than HE, worthy cap, gamora.
