It took some time 'cause only lightning rounds are up.In this video Iceman reduces the AoE damage for the whole team and eats the necessary six TU AP and places three CD's. His yellow was level 5 and cost two TU APEven though Iceman only had enough TU AP for two team members he still reduces the damage for the whole team and uses six TU AP and places two CD's. Bugged? Yellow was level 3 and required 3 TU AP.
@JSP869, it's off season so I can't test against that team until the shield sim is back up.

I wonder, if you have only 2 TU (or 3 TU at level 3), and get hit by an AOE, does your whole team gets protected by the damage, and only 1 yellow CD is created? This would be an excellent bug/oversight.0 -

I'm coming up against a few early champ Iceman teams in this Juggernaut pvp, and he is nightmare status for my roster when paired with 5* Hawkeye and receiving that god-mode boost. He seems very effective to me.0

3/5/5I break my mini hoard and managed to champ my Iceman. For pvp, I been pairing him with 50% thor. While they have a colour overlap, the god mode help Ensure that Iceman tanks everything. At the same time, thor passive will remove red/green/yellow, leaving blue/purple/black on the board. That’s makes it easier to match the Iceman blue CD tiles. Thor red can actually get the max dmg output since there’s so many special tiles on the board.
In Sims, I pairing Iceman-thor-JJ. As Iceman blue CD will fill the board, JJ traps will mainly generate on red and black, giving you an easier time in triggering the traps. Also, JJ black can easily reach the maximum output because Iceman green fills on random colours. Iceman green also double dip on JJ strike tiles.
i like him as he brings along a different play style . So glad that I managed to champ him with only about 240 pulls.6 -
3/5/5Interestingly, Iceman blue CD and green CD works even when he is stunned. So I can still trigger the stun and AOE effect even when bishop stuns Iceman2

His only drawback seems to be that he has no big direct damage ability. His repeaters do good damage to a single enemy once they are the only one remaining, but I think he could have a potential damage component added to his yellow.
Perhaps if you are able to match or destroy his yellow CD it could do a percent (half maybe?) of the damage to the target enemy, of what it would have done to him?
He's definitely been fun and unique so far.0 -
How are we running Iceman and who with so far? I just got mine champed. I have 5torm, Doom, Robby Reyes, and now Bobby to play with completely champed, and a functional Jessica Jones and Okoye.0

Use Storm's yellow to flood the board in blue. 11 turn stuns are hilarious.
I just cant get away from Ice's green though, it can be incredible, and gets better as you get down to 2 then just 1 opponent since the 'hits per enemy' are higher.
The only drawback to Ice & JJ is that he spends blue automatically, taking away from Jessica's passive. I really prefer having my traps revealed when I have 6 blue AP saved up. Lots more potential to stun helps ease this pain, but just pointing it out.
Doom plays fine with him, but Ice is very likely to be tanking yellow and blue. You'd prefer Doom to be taking that match damage since his heal is so good. I'm a huge fan of Doom's yellow, and the health boost makes up somewhat for Ice tanking too much. Also, as mentioned that tile shuffle can help a lot, including getting Ice's yellow CD moved to a matchable location to avoid it's damage that he already defended.
Definitely agree, Okoye can be just completely unfair to use with him. Match a repeater for boosted team damage, on top of the random hits they deal, crazy. Just be careful not to hit an enemy Thor into 50% health too early.
The only synergy I can see with GRRR is that with all the blue CD's expiring off the board that you couldn't get to, it does make red and black matches more attainable. I quite like GR's green, but this may be a case where you spec green to 3 and red to 5.
Just champed Professor X, and I see lots of him paired with Bobby. Both excellent defensively, and Ice being an X-men increases Chuck's black passive of course.

So my nerdy confession is that I very recently went through all my 5* champs and created a list of 5* partners for them (amongst those I have champed) in pick-2 PVP. Often times I want to play a certain character but am pressed for time and can’t remember who they pair well with. So here’s my Bobby list.1. Green Goblin (Norman Osborn)This is #1 in my book because it is not only effective but FUN. Gobby just supplements Iceman so well and covers his flaws. Iceman lacks a big nuke? Goblin black has got you. Need to keep blue on the board? Goblin’s passive will fortify all those CDs essentially doubling the blue on the board. Purple outlet? Sure why not. It is not uncommon to match 3 fortified blue for a 6-turn stun. My record is 16 turns when I ran these two in the BFF PVP. Finally, Bobby stunning can create a higher likelihood that Norman’s lengthy countdowns will fortify/resolve without being matched2. Okoye (Warrior General)The synergy has already been mentioned, but basically Okoye’s passive fuel’s Bobby’s chip damage. Okoye’s team-up spam not only fuels you offensively but you can drain some to create a timely “ice wall” if needed to shrug off some big damage hits. And since all three of Bobby’s powers work if you “destroy” the tile (not just on matches), Okoye’s red can provide a timely stun, AOE, clear his ice wall tile, or do all three by targeting the right line!3. Daredevil (Matt Murdock)
I was weary of this pairing due to overlap and Iceman tanking almost everything. But... it somehow works. Bring Matt in close to dead and he will put strikes on the board as he slowly heals in the background. The idea is to stun and hit them with Bobby’s green. All that chip damage is supplemented by Daredevil’s strike tiles and purple passive. In a way he acts like a second-tier Okoye, boosting Iceman’s damage and bringing little of his own offense. Where Okoye needs to chase teamups and boosts power damage only, Matt needs to keep you stunned and boosts all damage. Very similar mechanics but I gave Okoye the nod due to two additional active colors to Matt’s one.4. Jessica Jones (Alias Investigations)
This pairing is really just about lack of active overlap first and foremost (4 really great color outlets here) but there are little additional synergies as well. Jessica’s strikes will fuel Bobby’s chip damage. Bobby’s repeaters and countdowns add to the number of “specials” on the board for when Jess is ready to body check. Finally, similar to how Bishop/Jess works, a timely stunlock just gives more time to hunt trap tiles while the enemy sits there. I don’t mind not seeing the traps and hunting blindly as Bobby pours blue on the board. Making a blue match that hits a trap and having an actual outlet for that AP is well worth the trade off. What I don’t like, and really their only weakness is Defenstrate giving you WORTHLESS yellow AP when you match your traps. Pairing with Okoye as a third can remedy this and make a great sim team!
5. Captain America (Infinity War)
This one worked way better than anticipated (tried last night). The only real synergy I thought was that Cap gives three actives Bobby doesn’t use. However the interaction of their yellows is interesting. You can use Icewall and Bobby’s natural tanking to have him take most the hits, and when he dies have Cap revive him. Also I like that the purple and blue outlets will slow the opponent down with the green and red will do the heavy-lifting damage-wise. This is an example of what a well-balanced team would look like in this game if we didn’t have such a wide bell curve with Banner/Wasp and Thorkoye somehow being in the same tier.5. Professor X (Classic)
The Professor plays well with every X-Man I have champed- even nerfed Logan and **** Archangel. Professor is that good. The exception is Gambit due to the purple color block. And I’m not even 100% on that as I haven’t tried them. I’m not a huge fan of this pairing above the others due to the lack of color outlets (two active powers, 3 outlets total), and much prefer Cable or Storm (or even Thor) as Professor partners. That said, it’s a good defensive team between Bobby and Xavier’s defensive passives. You will annoy folks with these two.6. Thor (Gladiator)
Iceman plays as a great third for Thorkoye and a great second for both parts of the speed duo. Both Iceman and Thor really benefit from Okoye’s black, so neither having it make for a slower fight than I’d like. My Thor is capped at 440 so Okoye will tank. If he was champed I’d probably rank this pairing higher. The pluses are that Bobby will do some heavy tanking, Thor will remove three colors from the board allowing for more blue, and the cascades can often result in blue matches. The green overlap (both are excellent) is probably the one big drawback of this pairing.Gambit and Doctor Doom are on my list of pairings to “try” and remain unranked. And after reading the last two posts may add GR and Storm to my try list as well.5
