So, just theorizing, but if Ultron is one of them, what would the other 8 be?
My guesses:
1) Thor versus Hela
2) Cap versus Hydra
3) Iron Man versus Ultron (see above)
4) Panther versus Killmonger
5) Antman versus Goons
6) Widow versus Goons (IM2 introduction version)
7) Spiderman versus Vulture
8) Hulk versus Ultron bots
9) Wanda/Vision versus Children of Thanos
I thought we liked 12 days. Am I wrong?
Like if someone says " i don't mean to be rude" is them acknowledging they are being rude. But maybe that's just me.
Anywho, this looks like an acceptable in game event to me. I'm looking forward to all the stuff coming.1 -

The Showdown sounds like more than just a rehash of 12 Days of Marvel, not just semi-random teams, but battles recreating Marvel movie moments with a mix of 3 on 3 and 1 on 1 battles. I think it will be cool.0

Looks good so far, would have liked longer double ISO but some is better than none!

Wouldn't it be more straightforward for the vets to tell the devs what they expect out of this particular celebration, instead of keeping things opened to interpretation? I doubt the devs will be able to fully satisified the vets with a typical celebration, apart from feeders announcement and new PvEs.
My guess and what's being said so far:
1. New single node PvE - rehash of 12 days of Christmas
2. New PvE that could potentially follow standard format - I doubt they will be pleased as well.
3. New PvE with no placement rewards but placement rewards are not distributed into progression - unhappy
4. Feeders - way overdue and there should be a second feeder for each five stars instead?
5. Double iso-8 - nothing new
With a number of celebrations every year, I wonder how the devs can outdo the previous celebrations?

Let's just wait and see.I strongly suspect that the event will either have open character selection, or affiliation based restrictions on the centre character (like 12 Days did). While it might be common for people on this forum to have a complete roster, that is the exception for the wider player base. The aim will probably be to make it possible for most players to complete the event either with the characters they have rostered, or with the ones they can potentially get while the event is ongoing.0 -
"10 mission nodes will be unlocked each day over the course of 10 days with each mission featuring an iconic Marvel showdown." - does this mean a total of 100 new nodes? It sounds like it's 10 missions each day for 10 Days, but I suspect it may just be 10 nodes in total.

Just got this in my e-mail. Apologies if formatting is funky. New events noted and the next 4*
Look at that Ronin! Niiice!1 -
It all sounds like a lot of fun stuff to me. The 10 Days of Marvel thing sounds very nice. I also want to especially thank the Devs for restoring earning the new 4* to a Boss Event which benefits a lot more players (although I am aware of those who have Alliances who can't make the progress) and of course the more classic characters for SHIELD Training (although requiring Magik or Talos would have been a bit ridiculous). Also some interesting 4* PvP's (I had better level up my Widow) - looks like it will be good times.

10 nodes total, 100%.1 -

1. New game mechanics - Boss events do offer this to some degree with the boss battles (i.e. Apocalypse, Kaecilius, Ultron, Galactus). Kaecilius is actually my favorite of the bunch because the battle cannot be won with simple raw damage power. It is the one boss fight you really do need to bring a specialized team to win. I believe if the dev team focused their energy on building battles that required various conditions to win, it would add value to non-meta characters.
I think the main problem is that such a battle may be difficult for younger rosters since they may not have a deep enough roster to meet the conditions of battle. I can think of two workarounds for this issue: 1. Make it an achievable event by requiring a certain S.H.I.E.L.D. Rank level to unlock it which will motivate younger rosters and give them something to look forward to playing in the future; or 2. Have a difficulty selection for the event that will allow younger rosters an opportunity to play at their own level by lowering the difficulty of the conditions.
So for example: A battle against the Black Order would require different conditions to be met against each member of the Black Order.
Cull Obisidian:
Condition: Have a certain number of protect tiles on the board before you can damage Cull Obsidian
Deadly: 20 protect tiles on board necessary before Cull takes damage
Hard: 16 protect tiles on board necessary before Cull takes damage
Normal: 12 protect tiles on board necessary before Cull takes damage
Easy: 8 protect tiles on board necessary before Cull takes damage
They could even offer special vaults with characters that generate protect tiles to help players who may not have such character.
2. An update to the Prologue section called Thanos Quest - In this event, players play as Thanos to acquire the Infinity Stones from different bosses. The acquired Infinity Stones could be event restricted meaning players could only use the supports they earned in the "Thanos Quest" prologue section. Obviously, the enemies faced by Thanos would consist of the various heroes in different tiers. I mean imagine how awesome it would have been to face off against a Wong supported Dr. Strange for the Time Stone or a team of three Novas for the Power Stone?
This new prologue section should also have a difficulty setting: Normal and Hard and can be specifically geared to showcasing supports and offering support tokens as a reward. In normal mode, completing each boss battle will earn you the event-restricted Infinity stone support and a beginner token. Upon completion the player can earn one advanced token. In Hard mode, each boss battle will offer an advanced token and upon completion one master token. So in total a player can win a total of six beginner tokens, 7 advanced tokens and 1 master token.
3. A Stormbreaker and/or Infinity Gauntlet support - 'nuff said.
4. A new PvE event - Preferably something that showcases Captain Marvel's skill set the way Strange Sights does for Doctor Strange. I believe the dev team should try to find ways to give non-meta characters a niche event where they are useful the way Strange Sights makes both Doctor Strange and Black Suit Spider-Man useful. Not every character has to be meta but by creating a more robust event catalogue helps enrich play experience and increases the potential value of non-meta characters.
Obviously this can't be done with every character, but it's something I believe they should be aiming for.
5. Generosity - This is supposed to be a celebration so giving players the opportunity to earn more than they would usually helps foster good will with the player base. Double Iso is always welcomed but it would be nice to also give out some extra CP and an LT. It would be great if they ran Crash of the Mad Titan again to help distribute more rewards. Maybe it can reward special Endgame tokens with a vault that has 5* Thanos cover in it. Make it one of those 41 cover vaults and the player can earn up to 20 tokens. Something like that would be awesomesauce.
Or they could also do a special short PvP season focused on events and rewards tied to the celebration.
6. Feeders - Specifically for characters related to the movie so Banner, Doctor Strange and perhaps Captain Marvel. I actually don't mind the slow pace of feeder distribution since I like to go for the LTs in 4* but the lack of feeders is noticeable and seems to be hot button issue on the forum.
7. Player Survey at the end of the celebration - collect player feedback to see what events players enjoyed most and what areas they can improve on in the future. Perhaps condition based battles may prove to difficult for younger rosters or too easy for older rosters.
With all that said, I do realize some of what I am asking for may be difficult to implement. I have learned from the IW celebration that it is wiser to keep my expectations in check but I do have faith that they will do better this time around. I guess in time we will find out.
Signed,
A true believer
P.S. ~ As always, I want to thank the dev team for their hard work. Hoping for the best!22 -
