- giving us a longer final buffer requires oktagon to work a bit, but will make everybody happy
- giving us all charges upfront is not ideal for everybody (even though I don't understand the complaints from the players), but doesn't require any coding from oktagon
Please d3/oktagon give us a better quality of life: happier players is much more important than forced engagement.
The complaints regarding all of the charges up front make little sense to me. Having all of the charges right up front for an event wouldn't decrease player engagement with the event in the slightest. Whether I'm logging in every 6 hours to complete each node for the new charge or if I log on right at the start of the event and knock them all out up front and be done, I'm putting in the exact same amount of time and effort towards the event. My engagement with the event hasn't changed.
Now, what if a player is willing to put his or her all into a 3 day event but they just happen to have a busy schedule the first two days? You know full well that that player can put up 90% or better points and that on the 3rd day of the event when they get the free time, they will. Should that player be penalized for a busy schedule or afforded the opportunity to compete and participate?
What other engagement beyond that is there to speak of? There's only ever the one event going on outside of TG, AXLN, and TotP which I cleared 30 minutes after they came up. The Story Mode hasn't been touched in over a year (Training for each new set is far from counting here).
All that giving full charges up front reduces is how often a player opens up the game, not how much they engage with the games various modes. I wouldn't consider logging in every 6ish hours to collect the free boosters "engagement". If they want us to log in more, give us more to do beyond forced node recharges.
I'm not saying I would take one solution over the other here either. Either an extended 12 hour time period after the final node refresh or all charges up front would both be acceptable solutions to an exacerbating issue of event start and end times conflicting with multiple time zones.5 -

I set an alarm and get up at 4:30AM to finish off weekend nodes before work.
It sucks, I know. But it was really nice to experience what all other time zones have the benefit of over the last years of events.
Just saying, there are those of us who deal with this week in and week out, so dont complain. It was a mistake and its sorted now.
On a side note, or actually, on a relevant note, @Brigby have you considered programing the last refresh of every event to last longer so people like me get an extra 4-6 hours to clear out our nodes, andanyone who has finished there nodes already (like our Euro players) can patiently wait for the time out to collect their coalition rewards?
It would be nice to be able to play like other timezone. I found I had much more fun and was more efficient and effective being able to clear my nodes in the daytime and evengings instead of 4 in the moring while trying to wake up and being extremely tired at work all day.
YOu could call it a plea for work/life/magic balance!
So to get my last nodes in means I have to set my alarm at least an hour earlier to complete and not be late for work.
I dont know... it just doesnt seem to work for me. But I am one of thousands.
What I was getting at was two fold:
1) It was just nice for a change
2) No matter what they do, it will not fit everyones schedules with the current event refresh format.
I guess my point was, in my opinion, I like having expirable nodes, but make the last refresh nodes run longer. make the last refresh 12 hours. Drag the event end time out a bit. Anyone in Euro completing their nodes can just sit back and wait for results and coalition rewards. Not a big deal.
