I don't care that it's yet another Cap and the second Cap in the 5* tier, he looks great and has unique mechanics. I'm excited to see the character art. I'm expecting the beard.

@Brigby One point of clarification on the Covert Ops Legendary Token:

    • 15% chance to get Captain America (Infinity War), Hawkeye (Clint Barton), Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff)

Is that a 15% chance for each of them (i.e. 45% chance you'll pull one of those three) or a 15% chance for all of them (i.e. 5% chance for each)? I might be mistaken, but I recall previous special LTs offering a 10% chance on the new character, so this is either a step down or a step up. EDIT: I just did a search on the forum, both the Gambit Mes Amis tokens and the Jessica Jones Alias tokens offered a 15% rate. I just cannot for the life of me recall if that was per character.

Theyd never do a 45% chance of a 5*  its 5% each as with recent events

I believe it follows previous iterations of Legendary Stores, and will give a 15% chance to get a 5-Star character, with those 3 as potentially obtainable characters. I've adjusted the wording to provide further clarity.

Since it's a burst heal, his yellow is really only useful with DD or OML. So if someone is running one of those characters as a main 5* (because you don't have Gambit), I could see a space for Infinity Cap. Especially if your normal team doesn't have a red nuke.

You know, when you put it like that, it seems absurd. I think I've just had great luck with these: I pulled a Gambit on the first try with his special token and Jessica Jones on the sixth try with hers (after pulling another 5* on the previous pull.)

So how would the crop of Cap, JJ, and GR be for someone jumping into the 5* realm? Obviously, they're no Gambit, but still.

So are all instances of Steve Rogers (???) being changed to Captain America (???)? I was expecting to see Steve Rogers (Nomad) instead of a generic title which says “By the way, this is a movie tie in.”
Powers, 10K to non-targets for 8 red? That sounds real nice. The low cost of purple makes it almost viable against Gambit. Yellow... YMMV. interaction with Phoenix will be interesting to see. Might depend on whether From the Ashes successfully revived her or not before being downed again. If it worked, her power set should have transformed green. If the CD got matched out, then green might still be From the Ashes. And then you’re bringing her to the next fight at 1 health (or so), so she gets immediately downed and revived with much better health.

Bright, does his purple stop passive or just active powers?

Based on the wording, I'd say that it probably wouldn't prevent a Passive from triggering, as that's not "firing" the power.

JJ has a killer passive, a decent nuke and relativity cheap strike tile generation. GR is pretty average but has a high health pool, decent ap generation and also a good nuke. Obviously haven't had experience with cap but cheap ap/power denial (gambit counter) , team revive and potentially one of the most powerful nukes in the game. I'd say go for it.

Personally, not being particularly excited by Ghost Rider, I'm gonna wait to see what the next 5* looks like (presumably the umpteenth Spidey). Then you've got the choice between GR/JJ/Cap or JJ/Cap/?? for cracking the hoard. Cap doesn't look that great, but good enough that I'll at least pull until my 2/4/2 Jess hits 13 covers.

Coulson w/ Destroyer Gun Support + On Your Feet Soldier! seem like a fun silly combo

Coup de Grace for boss fights seems like an easy ramp and nuke

I love when Cap goes to Dimension Zola and saves the little boy who becomes Nomad. Gritty, dark stuff.

Coup de Grace easily deals out 30k+ damage. His yellow is a new ability - the ability to revive team members. Let's not forget about the lower level rosters. They could make use of Captain America's yellow to revive other characters like Daken, Patch, R&G (3*), 4* DeadPool, X-Force, 4* Blade, instead of waiting for x minutes for them to wake up from unconsciousness and then start recovering health.

His purple is another new ability - to stop opponent from firing an active power of the selected colour. Pair him with a support that can fortify his tiles and you won't have to worry about getting matched too much.

I can understand why he's considered a low-tier 5* to some because he's more of a support character, rather than an "instant" killing machine. 2/3 of his ability deals no damage to the enemy. I'm glad that they are not going with "instant killing" route.

But you would still need to be able to bring the true-healers into a fight to revive them, and the game will force you to use a health pack on them if they need to be revived on the character select screen.

I understand where you coming from but his ability reads as:

Captain America reaches down and lifts up his fallen ally. This battle's not over yet. Revives a Downed ally and grants them a burst of 60% health.

It's meant for characters who went into battle with him and downed during the battle. So, it's not meant for characters who were already downed.

For 5* land, he might not be useful. But if you were to team him up with true healers who died during battle or use his yellow as a teamup in 2*/3*/4* land, you won't have to wait 20-30 minutes for them to start healing.

Typically, the process goes like this:
    1) character downed during battle.
    2) wait x minute for downed character to regain consciousness
    3) recover health

What Captain America did for true healer is to remove step 2 because it gives them 1HP true heal and the rest burst heal. It's useful if you don't want to use healthpack to revive them and want to rely on their true heal.

What's the point of releasing a 5* to use with 2/3/4*? Gaining 15 yellow AP isn't worth saving a health pack for a 2/3/4* either.

The new 5* cap is interesting and he will be better in boss events more so than anything else.  As far as his purple goes even if you take gambit out of the equation there are better purple abilities in the 5* tier.  You have DD, Thanos, BW, and Phoenix .  Caps yellow is very interesting but it is really expensive and a low situational.  Most fights don’t end with a friendly going down.  This means he is a 3rd at best, and more likely a boss fight specialist. If his purple was a blue power he might be more interesting.
