Jubilee's bubbly personality and never ending optimism inspire her team to do their best. Whenever Jubilee makes a match, if she has less health than the target, deal 1,243 extra damage. If there are at least 3 Charged tiles on the board, this also applies to her allies.

Does that mean her allies also take the damage, or (more likely) that they also deal the damage if they are the ones making the match?
I’m thinking allies do bonus damage as well. Weird to have “heart of the team” hurt your team. The real question is, with the charged tiles out, if an ally makes a match, do they have to be lower health than then enemy or does Jubilee?
The minimum number of Charged tiles required drops the more levels that are put into the ability, so I would imagine it "applying to her allies" is referencing the ability to deal extra match damage.

The question I've asked the developers is whether or not the allies need to be lower health as well, or if it's just simply the damage buff that's applied.

    The X-Men Vs. Apocalypse
    • Starts: 4/5/18 7am ET
    • Ends: 4/8/18 2am ET
This is a boss event, but those start/end times are normal PVE times. Shouldn't it start at noon ET and end at midnight ET on those days?

Ah, good catch! I've gone ahead and corrected those now to show the correct times:
    • Starts: 4/5/18 12pm ET
    • Ends: 4/8/18 11:59pm ET
    Thanks!

A boss event as the release event for a new 4* is a nice change.  Although I think Apocalypse could still use some tweaking: it is a real turn off to the lower level members of my alliance.

Usually I can tell them that they are still helping when they wipe on the boss, since any damage they do helps our score.  But with Apocalyspe healing himself, if they can't take out the horsemen they are likely to get zero points for the match.  Sure, they'll still get points for the side nodes but that is often peanuts compared to what you get from the boss.

Jubilee unleashes a dramatic fireworks display to blindside and confuse her opponents. Randomly changes the colors of the 3x3 blocks surrounding 2 chosen basic tiles, dealing 6,385 damage and stunning 2 random enemies for 2 turns.

This ability is interesting. If I interpret it correctly, this could help trigger Ticket to Multiverse. Make 2 match 4 to create 4 trap tiles by America Chavez. Then use this ability to choose 2 basic tiles near the trap tiles within 3x3 block range and hopefully it turns one of the trap tiles to a third colour.

I suppose if her allies make a match, deal 1243 extra damage. The less health part, if applied to her allies, sounds a little broken. Imagine bringing Loki or whoever has less health even at full health than the target... Or even 1* against goon...

@Brigby Can you tell us what Jubilee's health is at lvl. 270? Her health pool is really what will make or break her yellow ability. This is the first time I'm rooting for a low-HP character.

Jubilee fires a volley of energy blasts at her enemies, disarming them. Creates 4 Charged tiles, replacing any enemy Strike, Protect, or Attack tiles, and deals 2,416 damage to the enemy team.
@Brigby just wanted to clarify, it creates 4 charged tiles regardless of whether or not there are 4 enemy special tiles correct? It just gives priority to any special tiles that are there?

Her cover makes her look like Damian Wayne cosplaying as Jubilee.  Her pvp event art looks great though.

Her Roman Candle sounds similar to Ragin' Cajun. It creates countdown tiles even if there is no enemy special tiles. I would interpret it as 3 steps
    1. Creates 4 charged tiles
    2. If there is any strike/attack/protect, replace up to 4 of them
    3. Deal damage

If it reads as turn 4 strike/attack/protect tiles to charged tiles, then the number of charged would be the number of strike/protect/attack tiles on the board, to a max of 4.

The above is based on comparison between Jubilee's, 5* Gambit and 3* Bullseye's Lethal Improvisation.

They just need to fire powers and team ups then retreat.

I was thinking it is an appropriate synergy if she is running with Wolverine, who generally has a smaller health pool than his contemporaries due to the regeneration.

Come to think of it, it wouldn't be broken if only Jubilee makes the match. Her optimism inspire her team to do their best...

    There are only 4 possible scenarios that can trigger the extra match damage and assuming there are also 3 charged tiles;

    Condition 1:
    Jubilee has less health (JH)
Allies also has less health (AH)

    Condition 2:
    Jubilee makes a match (JM)
Allies also makes a match (AM)

    1. JH/JM= original ability

    2. JH/AM = possibly broken. Enter Jubilee at lowest health possible and let 2 other characters tank all the colours. With Bolt, you will be making extra 1243 damage on the 2nd turn every turn.

    3. AH/JM = plausible. Allies also have less health, but only Jubilee makes the match to deal extra 1243 damage

    4. AH/AM= incredibly broken. Any character with lower health and any character can make a match to trigger extra 1243 damage.

After removing all the improbable, we are left with 1 and 3.

She looks AMAZING! grats to the team on another great release!
Love the action figure look, Great timing w/ event release. Some shine on the mutants is nice. I hope this quells any of that talk that certain Characters(fox) are off limits for release. I'm really excited for the animations. Keep up the great work!
I really like the under-dog feel of Heart of the Team. get it und...

Huh. I’m really surprised nobody mentioning this is an entirely non-placement release. Unless the rewards for Identity Theft change, then even that won’t give placement rewards. While this leads to a nice and even cover distribution (3 from boss round completion, 1 from Bubblegum PVP, 1 from featured story, 1 from Shield Training), it does mean that even more than before, you must buy to get full progress from Shield Training. Not that you didn’t already considering the extremely small number that can get more than a few covers from placement anyway.

They've got to be the one making the match, though.  Jubilee herself will likely tank everything if you brought along Loki or a random 1-star. It all depends on Jubilee's health pool, which we don't know yet - without that, any strategies are just hypothetical.

    Some early thoughts:

Yellow - I guess this is the headline ability. You either need to bring her into the match at low health to get the passive damage straight away (and then presumably lose the passive as you dmg down the opponents below Jubilee's health) or be fighting against a fairly massive HP pool. If you can get the charged tiles up quick (with her own green or bring Bolt etc) this should ramp up fairly nicely.

Purple - 12AP for 6k single target damage is fairly inefficient. Considering 3* Gamora does up to 1.4k AoE (at 266) with identical stun/ duration this seems over priced even though the ability to kill one and stun the rest of the team for two turns is often useful. Also, as the colour changes are random, the potential for cascade / free AP feels low.

Green - sounds fairly 'meh'. Obviously this one is a prerequisite to get the most out of her yellow but there are so many better greens out there...

Looks low to mid tier to me (health pool dependent of course). You'll bring her for her yellow, but it feels like a fiddly mechanic to setup and get the most use out of. She won't be your main damage dealer and instead of her you could bring a battery, a cheap stunner for quicker crowd control (IceMan / G4mora) or R4G.

True to her 90s cartoon incarnation, she seems fun but not all that useful in a fight...

    This! Yesss to another X-men!!!
But an "oh no" to another purple/green active... with tons of yellow passive characters out there... it would be so hard to make the yellow ability an active one for the sake of variety?
