I am one of 3 female players in Zombiepool. Like a lot of others I got into the game because I loved the first 3 Puzzlequest games. Myself, my husband and kids are all keen gamers. It is the modern way and more fun than telly. We like the Marvel movies but haven't read many of the comics. We are more manga orientated. My name would signal to anyone who reads Terry Pratchett books that I am female and a tough and deadly one at that.

I think people don't discuss his sexuality much because it's really easy to see unfortunate implications or just really creepy stuff, him being pretty much a Depraved Bisexual and all (I did read somewhere that he's asexual but realizes sex is a good way to manipulate people so he just goes with it. I'm sure every writer has a different idea about him, though).

Oh and... that Daken gif I've seen in other threads came from here? Man, I like you all a lot

I'm glad to see so many people coming out I knew there must be other girls around, but I was surprised to find out that some of you who I thought were men are actually ladies!

Are you Marvel fans too? I've not read the comics for a few years back, but I grew up with them. Janaina was introduced to most of them by MPQ, though she did watch the X-Men cartoon. Recently she's learned who's an Avenger and who isn't

Though she doesn't know much about the Marvel Universe, she's really good with Match-3. BTW, in our alliance, two of the top players are ladies. None of us ever had any trouble because we are women...on the contrary, the guys in our team are quite polite and seem happy to have us around.

Yes, I read that too, that he's asexual. I prefer to think of him as bisexual though, from what I've read (not much, just what I could find in the web). Anyway, it was really fun seeing him manipulate Bullseye into wanting him with his pheromones.

This thread rocks! We've been waiting for a thread like this for a long time.

I bet there are a lot of women here who aren't posting in this thread so as to not draw attention to themselves. Even though I have mentioned being female by reference (i.e. having a husband who also plays) elsewhere on the forums, previous gaming experiences have made me leery of being too noticeable as a woman.

Which is why I didn't post in this thread before this, haha.

As a dude I'd just like to say that this blatant display of diversity in our little community makes me proud to be a part of this community. I'm a huge proponent of diversity and gender equality in geek culture and to see it displayed here without reservation and without any negativity from the rest of the community give me hope for the future of our culture.

And because the conversation had turned to Daken admiration and I really don't have anything to add there. I know very little about him as a character but I have a deep and abiding annoyance towards Daken (and Bullseye) because of their passive abilities and how much I hate sitting through them.

I tend to gravitate to the smart guys. So of the Avengers, IM and Hulk/Bruce, and Steve to some extent. Not so much Loki, but my opinion, again, may be colored by the fact that he's kind of useless in-game.

What I'm really wishing for is more classic X-Men characters to be added to the game. I used to be really into X-Men comics (way before Daken was introduced) before it got to be too much to keep up with.

Not wanting to draw attention to a marginalized identity is totally understandable. I encourage any lurking women to PM me if they're interesting in finding other women/support on here, especially if they're concerned about visibility.

I wasn't really that much of a marvel geek in the first place, but I have recently been obsessing over Shieldbro after, you know, The Winter Soldier. His patriotic/slightly conservative personality(that isn't the exact word, but you know what I mean) combined with the overly gentle and somewhat-awkward-with-women side is just... perfection.
