Is it just me, or does that Falcon change seem very very strong? Throw up 3 punpun tiles for 9 green, and every yellow match after is 2/3rds of a judgement, without spending the yellow AP to boot. I would have expected +50 per tile or something like that, but +80 seems really really good.

It's certainly strong in some cases, but decidedly weak in others, which makes for an interesting balance. It synergizes well with Punisher, but not particularly well with Nick Fury for strike tiles. It's not entirely great for most attack tiles, except maybe Doom. Not great with IW protect tiles, but good for Falcon's. It may even be the case that you would consider the additions on protect/attack tiles are wasteful if you also have strike tiles out. *shrug* we'll just have to see how it all plays out. I don't really anticipate falcon to become a mainstay of rosters just yet.

I think less so with Doom... Doom's tiles are expensive and powerful already. Falcon is going to shine in teams that can get tiles - any tiles - out quickly... Punisher, Psylocke, cMags, Daken, aWolvie
  • I don't think that Spidey needs to be nerfed, unless you are also going to nerf always slapping people with high level mobs in PVE. Otherwise these events become overly difficult, especially since OBW was recently given the nerf treatment.

She didn't get nerfed at all. They fixed a big that made the AI kill you easier than it was supposed to.

Hes just being "that guy" that complains and doesn't understand what actually happened.

See what I did there? Uh...im going back to getting crushed in the simulator I think my mstorm healed.

Two small balance changes - while I have no major opinion on these changes in particular, I like this plan. I would like to see this game make more frequent small changes to heroes rather than wait and make large ones like I hear the Ragnarok change was.
  • In the past you'd get 100 -> 130 -> 169 -> 220 and now it'd be like 100 -> 179 -> 258 -> 337 so it's somehow even more powerful than before. It's probably balanced by the fact that it works anyone with a strike tile so there's enough brokenness to cancel itself out. Daken + Falcon would be a pretty scary team, though they also die easily. Wolverine + Falcon would be pretty scary too, so that sort of balances out the Punisher + Falcon teams I guess? This gives the teams without the lazy characters a decent chance to fight against those massive HPs, though I'm not sure balancing a character to be effective against the lazy characters is a good idea. Still, if lazy Thor/Cap aren't going to be nerfed, I guess the next best thing is to make sure they no longer dominate over all other characters due to their superior combination of abilities + durability.

Falcon is likely to become one of the premier PvE characters since he pretty much turns normally weak characters like Wolverine or Daken into a killing machine, and this even helps you managing your scaling if you can turn a victory from Wolverine.
  • Thanks for the update. I almost put ISO into Falcon. I assume that green tweak means Mohawk Storm shattering 16 tiles is OP on their test servers.
  • Just noticed but now Latverian Terrain is actually pretty darn good with Falcon.

that's...a pretty good point. I still doubt its worth it to try for it, but it does give you a little more leeway on character selects with falcon in those few situations.

It's most likely a defensive issue, as in the foolish AI that grabbed environmental tiles for Latverian Terrain suddenly don't look so foolish when those 3X3 strike tiles become 3X82 strike tiles.
  • Glad to see some changes being made and communicated. Was starting to think the devs had forgotten the lesson of "communicate with us!" that came out of previous debacles. Wish the devs would be more upfront about what's going to happen to Spidey and C.Mags.

I agree. We were just given c. mags as rewards last week. It would have been nice to know what's going to happen to him so we could respec with those covers.

Hopefully they have a couple events that give out c. mags and spidey after they announce their changes so we can respec.
  • I see him on a decent number of PvP teams, but I don't think that he's really been that much of a PvP menace: high-end PvP teams seem to have moved away from him completely in favor of more offensive/tankier oriented teams.

I've certainly moved away from him, ever since I heard the nerf-bat was on its way. My go-to team used to be Patch, cMags and Spidey, and now it's Lazy Thor, cMags and BP. I have to say I've not really missed Spidey, as it felt cheap to use him all the time. I hope his upcoming change actually makes me want to use him again by reworking his abilities, rather than just bumping the AP cost and making him nearly useless.
  • The only downside I see to the Falcon changes is just how big the increase in Strike tiles will be when we face a level 300+ version in PvE. With scaling he could easily increase 3 Strike tiles by 150+ each for every yellow match. Unless you have a way to lock him out, or the guy who generates the Strike tiles, your team will be dead in a matter of minutes.

I agreed.. but when it comes down to 400 + goons territory or make a push in a pvp when you're short of health packs, he pretty comes in handy.. if they make him completely useless in a rag way (even at lvl 205, rag is futile, what a way to funbalanced him icon_cry.gif ) , i hope they give us some alternatives.. they are only 2 healers in the game and obw is a little bit too squishy..

Yup, I reckon you're on the money here. Mstorm has been a very good 1* for a very long time, with no hints that any changes were required - mainly because she has no hit points.
Shortly after they 'announce' LazyMohawkStorm, one of Mstorm's skills is deemed too powerful.

I suspect this means LazyStorm will mainly be based off Mstorm's powers, with minor tweaks. But I guess we knew that anyway, since only the most overused (aka monetizable) characters get the lazy treatment.
  • Personally I think the Storm change is flat out DUMB

Are there any plans to allow players to exchange nerfed characters for the full amount of ISO8 that they used to level them? I'm thinking of the upcoming Spider-Man nerf. He's been around for so long a lot of people have put a lot of time and or money into leveling him up. If he's turned into something people wouldn't have chosen to invest in over other characters, like what happened to Thor, it'd be nice to be able to get the ISO8 back so we can put it towards who we would've chosen otherwise.

Also, after Spidey gets nerfed, are you going to release a 4* gold version of Spider-Man with the pre-nerfed powers?

You'll NEVER get the full amount of ISO spent back. With Thor and Wolverine they increased the buy-back price, but it still wasn't close to what was spent to level the characters up. It's a policy I actually agree with as well. I could imagine they *might* increase the sale price if they make significant changes to him.
  • Falcon sounds good. mStorm would deserve some compensation like little more HP.
